Great presentation. I have learned more from you than the Accuquilt videos especially the 2-1/2 strip die. I had no idea I could also create diamonds and squares from the strip die. Thank you!!
My hands shake and I was about to give up quilting because I couldn't cut fabric correctly. It was just too dangerous for me to use a rotary cutter. Fortunately I bought the Accuquilt Go about five years ago and I was immediately back in business! I loved it so much that a friend and I went together and bought the Go Big! We use it a lot and none of our blades have become dull. Thanks so much for this great video. It's the best I've found on the Accuquilt Go Big!
I love my Go. It is amazing. Hand crank is fine. I have arthritis X2 and been rear ended at stop lights. I love using the GO to deal with odd bits and floaters in my stash. I made 22 quilt tops( 45 by 60) this month out of the 3 days of chopping and it tidied up my stash. Remember to use both arms and take breaks...if you do for 3 days.. . I just chopped it all up and then figure out what to do with it as I go. I just tear the fabric to size I need to have less waste and then fold into the six layers and sometimes it has a fabric tail for the next one set of 6 layers.
I finally was able to purchase the regular Go! Cutter. OMG! What a difference this thing makes. I originally thought it would just be good for appliqué since I could never sew anything perfectly. Boy, was I wrong! I no longer make oversized HST and then trim them down. They are cut perfectly by the Go! Machine and then I sew my 1/4" seam. And Voila! Perfectly sewn HST. No trimming down needed. I am a full Accuquilt convert. As a person with severe Fibromyalgia and other back problems, this has been a life saver. I am no longer in pain after cutting out my project. Which means, I can actually sew after cutting out what I need. Whoever came up with this concept, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I have the electric die and I love it. You can cut strips for the binding of your quilt with a half yard of fabric. You just have to fold it a certain way and it comes out so perfect!! There just isn't enough time to cut & sew!
I have the Accuquilt Go, and I love it. It really helps me to be accurate. I just embroidered baby animals on white cotton. Then I ran them thru, making sure they were centered and straight. Now I have perfect embroidered blocks to put in my quilt.
I am ordering my first Go! Fabric Cutter starter set today. I have always been happy to cut by hand, however the nasty old OA is starting to flare up in my thumb joints (the bane of old netball players). Looking forward to it's arrival. :-)
Can you get a pattern for the quilt behind you...are you going to do more videos on accuquilt….just found this video...love it...do you have a quilt shop...
Hi Barbara, i honestly don't know but Rene is the speaker in this video, show owns a quilt show in Northern Michigan, you can contact her there :) reneeshouseofquilting@yahoo.com - TELL HER NANCY SENT YA :) - we are friends.
Hi Lilly, sorry but I don't know what the Studio 2 is? is that a Accuquilt machine? if so the answer is no. You can only use Accuquilt dies in an accuquilt machine to the best of my knowledge. I don't own an Accuquilt machine through so you might want to contact them for more specifics. Happy Quilting - Nancy
with the 2.5"/diamond die, how did the machine know to cut strips the first time through and not diamonds or squares? Does it sense where the fabric is lined up? My concern is getting the wrong cut from the one die. :)
Hi - you would need 2 dies for this, one to cut the strips and one to cut the triangles. i don't have this cutting system but my friend Renee at Renee's House of Quilting does - give her a call :) www.reneeshouseofquilting.com
Hi On the strip die there are four blades running the length of the die to cut the long strips after cutting the strips you lay the strip across the blades on the the correct angle for the secondary shape if you line it up on the forty five degree line then you cut the diamonds that were demonstrated
Hi - they honestly will stay sharp for a very very long time. I personally don't have this machine but i have never heard of them blades getting dull. Nancy
Hi Charlie, sorry I do not know, that came from the presenter. Her shop is Renee's House of Quilting - you can contact her :) www.reneeshouseofquilting.com
Hi Nelly, I don't actually own the Accuquilt so i am not positive, sorry. I think it would be best for you to contact Accuquilt or Renee, who is the shop owner from the video - her store is WWW.RENEESHOUSEOFQUILTING.NET

How long does the plate last on the Go big!
It depends on how much you cut and what you cut. I would contact the presenter at www.reneeshouseofquilting.com
Do the dies remain remain sharp? If not how do you resharpen?
Hi - they honestly will stay sharp for a very very long time. I personally don't have this machine but i have never heard of them blades getting dull.
Nancy
I love the quilt behind you can we get a pattern for that one
Hi Mary, that wasn't my video but here is an email for Renee - it was her quilt, i'm sure she can help - Nancy

@@QuiltingWithNancy Thank you! Renee did reach me and it is her pattern!!!! So excited to make that quilt! 💥
love this but way too expensive for me
Kathy Nolan you can buy this in payments thru Bread. 4 equal payments and they ship it to you the same way
Should say right away
can I cut thick 100 per cent wool for rug braiding 2" wide
Yes, the accuquilt dies can cut through wool, one layer at a time, maybe two.
I have the Go Big and was wondering if I could cut a panel 5” wide and 82 “ length I need for my quilt
Hi Nelly, I don't actually own the Accuquilt so i am not positive, sorry. I think it would be best for you to contact Accuquilt or Renee, who is the shop owner from the video - her store is WWW.RENEESHOUSEOFQUILTING.NET
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Is it just me, or do you waste a great deal of fabric using this machine?
Hi Nancy - Yes, there is some but when your goal is to cut fast and accurate, for some it's worth the trade off.
Nancy
