Excellent example of what Hans Zimmer can do with a full orchestra. Besides his more modern work with the Batman trilogy, Inception, and Pirates of the Caribbean, he can still touch our heartstrings -- as he did with The Lion King, and as he did with Spirit.
I swear, this and The Prince of Egypt are THE BEST films Dreamworks ever made. Well, they're my favorites at least. I really miss films like this, the animation was amazing in this film (don't know why people make such a big deal over 3D animation) and the plots for films back then were so powerful and robust. I want more movies like this!
No, you're not the only one. Whenever I listen to either Howard Shore, Hans Zimmer or any other great companists, I always imagine myself in a story, which I later write in my journal. It's nothing big, but it's wonderful to be inside your head and release your imagination, to escape the real life in a couple of minutes.
Thank you so much. I watched this movie in 2004, I was 7 years old then. Now it's 2020, I listen to it. Can't tell you what it means for me. I freaking ADORE THIS .
I literally have goosebumps all over my body. This soundtrack and the movie is just so majestic. I think If I wouldn‘t know this movie for so long, I wouldn‘t be who I am now. Pure love ❤️
Am I the only one who creates their own stories in their head when they listen to a piece of Hans Zimmer's work. Whe I hear this, I imagine myself in a race through the woods as some powerful animal and I have to plot my way through it. In the end, I win by a landslide :) Thats what I made up like 3 years ago
We really need more movies like this. This is my favorite DreamWorks animated film and I think it's one of the best movies they've ever made. It is certainly one of the best animal movies made, animated or live action, that's for sure! I'm sick of all the movies that are made these days. Nothing is serious about them! Don't get me wrong, I love movies where you could get a good laugh, but not when it's 100% comedy. This film was very realistic and amazing, but not in a way that would bore kids.
Haven't seen thius film in so many years, I used to watch this when I was a kid EVERY night before bed for about 2-3 months. Need to get this on DvD again!
im in band for my school and every day i look for a website or a store to where i can get this music cause it brings tears to my eyes whenever i listen to this song. praise for hans zimmer. the best part is the trumpets or brass. whenever i am feeling down i listen to this song and instantly am happy again
An excerpt from this track was used in the finale of Boston's 4th of July fireworks display this year. (My guess is the excerpt started around 4:40 in this video) This track combined with the amazing fireworks was absolutely awe-inspiring.
I vaguely remembered this movie from my childhood, but couldn’t remember the name. I finally found it and of course to make it even better, Hans Zimmer did the score.
I watched this movie pretty much every single day when I was little. It was the only thing I wanted to do :p To this day, it is still my favourite movie. Some people might say that it's dumb to be in love with a kid's movie, but they obviousely have never seen it.
My story is basically the same as yours :) I remember I even used to act out the scenes on my parents' bed or just on the floor by myself with a bunch of blankets as the corral. Ah..my parents used to question why I was always watching it. They just put it off as me liking horses, which I do, they're beautiful, but it's about the story itself too.
8 years late but.. I couldn’t relate to something more. My whole family berated me and made fun of me all the time having this movie on loop, even just in my room to myself. But the amount of happiness, joy, sadness, and feelings of self determination this movie gave tiny me was just immeasurable. I’d act it out with my toys and just myself lol, but it really brought out the joy in us as kids.
You sir edited this video to perfection, you edited it so well that the sad parts don't seem that sad because the music doesn't accompany sadness. The music itself is so great , adding this childhood gem of a movie with such excellent editing to it was pure genius and you should've won some award for this. I get chills over my whole body when I listen to this, you should be honored that you can do something like that to people... Enjoy your life you awesome person. =)
hahaha i love how we al loved and still love Spirit. The story is just so beautiful that i still love it today. Me and my friend watch it every time we were with eachother and we also pretended to have horse and ofcourse my horse was called spirit and had exactly the same color :)
this is really amazing music, all you fake composers and singers out there today, listen to this, this is real, this is beautiful, this is what true music sounds like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my two year old daughter's favorite movie (so that, in turn, makes it MY favorite as well). This is also my favorite track from the soundtrack. Your video is very well done and well timed. Thank you from myself and my little one. Good work.
I think some part of the movie happened in real life before. Where the horses are pulling the train over the mountains. I think they said so in the bonus material in the DVD of the movie. I'm not 100% sure, as it is a long time since I saw it though..... :)

John Baek It's not just orchestra, it's band too. There are trumpets, trombones, and an electric guitar.
Rainey Bell that's what a full orchestra is.
I cant tell how much I adore this movie.. It's so inspirational and calming and emotional. No words, pure story. =)
Jerneja Tovšak aaaaammmeeeeeen
This song is slept on. I have to pull over sometimes to just feel the effects of this song.
Majestic.
There is no other movie where soundtracks and motion pictures are put together to be so powerful. That is why this is the best movie on earth.
I swear, this and The Prince of Egypt are THE BEST films Dreamworks ever made.

Just dont know what to say. No words I know are enough to describe how good this movie is.so i'll tell you about it in one single word: wow!
This song always make me feel so powerful. Hans Zimmer, bless you.

You're not the only one!!!! I LOVE making up stories to go along with music! It's why I want to be an author!

You will RUN FREE!

@@luismalheiro3602 Hey! Você é brasileiro?
É porque somente os brasileiros usam "kkkkkk" como risada na internet
11 years in and I still have not found moviemusic which is better than this masterpiece.
le meilleur de Hans Zimmer, comme toujours
An excerpt from this track was used in the finale of Boston's 4th of July fireworks display this year. (My guess is the excerpt started around 4:40 in this video) This track combined with the amazing fireworks was absolutely awe-inspiring.

I watched this movie pretty much every single day when I was little. It was the only thing I wanted to do :p To this day, it is still my favourite movie. Some people might say that it's dumb to be in love with a kid's movie, but they obviousely have never seen it.
Well done! "Run Free" is one of my favorite tracks on the movie soundtrack.

I ALWAYS look for Hanz Zimmer in the credits of movies. He's actually in a lot! Like Despicable Me, for instance. He's awesome!!
Great sum up of the movie!
