All the point that are a distance of 5 to the center, with complex numbers, so de answer will be x=5cos(θ)+2+5sen(θ)i If θ=0, x=7, if θ=π, x=-3 if θ=π/2, x=2+5i
Just here because the thumbnail caught my eye and I feel the need to comment. In the thumbnail, the absolute value sign was crossed out and the plus/minus added in front of the 5 with the question "why?" |x-2|=5 x-2=+/-5 (in which case x=7 or -3 but I digress) by the very nature of absolute value. Absolute value of a number is always a positive integer or 0 which is equidistant from 0 of the number you're taking the absolute value, at least with real numbers. I'm not sure how complex numbers work with absolute value. Edit: looked it up and it's the distance between the origin and the point representing the number on the complex plane. A complex plane is basically a standard cartesian plane except the x-axis represents all real numbers and the y-axis represents all coefficients of i. In other words, the absolute value of x+yi is sqrt(x^2+y^2).
Brother when we have an equation for eg: x²=25, then we are required to find all the roots, i.e. +/-5. But when we have a function involving just the radical sign for eg: √25, then the answer will just be +5.
There’s also another way: |X-2|=5 -> -(X-2)=5, (X-2)=5 -> 2-X=5 subtract 2 and then divide by -1 which gives X=-3 and the second equation add 2 to both sides which gives X=7
Good Morning! In your presentation you have didactic and methodicals errors, which I think you should correct The three ways you present how to solve an equation have errors which many people make. I wish a good day.
@@bprpmathbasics Sorry! Because I write now: What is for you a equation ? What is the soluction of a equation? What you think when you use a quadratic root in the two sides of equation? What quadratic root ? Do you know that in The elementary algebra the lettres are munbers? You remenber The properties of the absolute value? Excuse me for the Simple questions, because this is a problem for many People dealing with solving equations. Good Day!
Master absolute value equations here: ua-cam.com/video/tHERn84ZlBw/v-deo.html
or square both sides of eq.
|x-2|² = 5²
then use difference of squares
(x-2)² - 5² = 0
(x-2+5)(x-2-5) = 0
Can you do a similar video with absolute values and inequalities?
I cant wait for that video
*Thanks God* 🙏 .... *Just Algebra* is still *Just Algebra* 😉

Challenge: Math exam 2011 in Latvia for 18y/o school: log_a ^2 (x-a)>1, solve for all possible "a" values. (square log base a).
is it [log_a(x-a)]²?
@@babyyoda5074 yes
3:35 why isn't SQRT ( X^2) = +-X ? Output of SQRT can be pos or neg.
I guess it's just the definition of the principal square root.
That’s correct. In some sense sqrt (and all roots for that matter) really should be a multi valued function, but that’s harder to work with.

that was very cool...
easy but fun...
on these channels they do math for fun.
i love those i^i or cbrt of i or ith root of i

That’s what we use in my country mostly
how about modulus reciprocal inequalities.
how do i explain to my students in a way that is simple and not confusing?

@just algebra can I ask what is your Chinese channel name?
Good master iam master engineer electrician and electronic i loves math you are simply equation mathematic
I'm accustomed to removing the |x-2| such that +/-(x-2)=5. I guess it's a matter of how I learned back in the day 🤔
I like to think of algebra as a beautiful game of chess, with the right and strategic moves you win the game. well.. I took checkmate in two :)
Really want that shirt
Integrals with absolute values should happen.
They’re pretty easy tho
Where was this video 4 years ago😢
|x-2|=5
x-2=5 e^(iθ)
x=2+5 e^(iθ) forall real θ.
This includes 7 at θ=0 and -3 at θ=π/2
Where's the ball
