- A longplay of Mega Man - The Hedgehog Trap.
Mega Man - The Hedgehog Trap is a romhack of Mega Man 3 and mostly takes place in custom-made 8-bit versions of levels from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The hack contains alterations to the graphics, level design, sound effects, storyline, most weapons and all boss AI of the original game. There are two .avi cutscenes that are not available in this release.

I'm wondering why they put a "Boots in Cats" into the Wily boss theme. But it's catchy, at least.
It's kind of funny how the bosses have been switched around and you fight the upgraded MM2 bosses before the MM3 bosses.

I'm disappointed that Eggman wasn't in here.
Dr. Wily could have been replaced by Dr. Eggman. Dr. Eggman also has his own ship to use, just like Dr. Wily has his own ship to use.
I'm not familiar with the Sonic franchise, so I'm not too aware of these settings. But, wow, does the Mega Man music take me back! :D
The classic series is well-worth giving a try.
The suggested order is:
Sonic 1 (Genesis or mobile)
Sonic CD (Steam version)
Sonic 2 (the version on the Sonic Classics cartridge for Genesis is the best way to play right now, since it has bugfixes, though the mobile port is even better if you can handle touch controls)
Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Sonic 3 Complete or Sonic 3 A.I.R. are the best ways to play)
Knuckles Chaotix (is skippable)
Sonic 3D Blast: Director's Cut (can be skipped)
Sonic Mania
Alternatively, wait for Sonic Origins to come out to play the original trilogy, then go to Mania.

The weapons and bosses used here are from Megaman 2 instead of Megaman 3. Just like you do in Megaman 3, the robot masters that you're fighting are copying off of the robot masters from Megamn 2. In Megaman 3, those robots copying off of the robot masters from Megaman 2 do come after beating the 8 robot masters, and they ruin the stages, just like shifting it to hard mode (except for the water part in Gemini Man's stage because it's easier), but it's only 4 stages that are ruined.

this would have been done much better if Sega genesis style graphics were used with Wily wars game play format.
The hacker really should have used Wily Wars as a basis, then just ripped the graphics from Sonic games.
