    100% check that the gate is there before going for a snack, even though I have been there and seen it 100 times before. I also get there about 2 hours early so that I can sit across from the gate and watch that it doesnt disappear while I worry about being late and missing my flight.

      Last flight I had from New York back to Minnesota, they changed the gate three times. I always try and get to the gate early to get the latest info. Yeah, I feel like an old man. But the peace of mind is worth it.

    My husband and I both have Pre Check and we like to travel. It is the single best purchase I have ever made, especially if you're going to use airports like Logan, O'Hare, MCO, etc. Cuts HOURS of your travel time and worth every single penny.

      @elliebeep27 Рік тому +1

      Precheck is 100% worth it just to remove the hassle of taking off shoes, taking electronics out of your bag etc. I travel a lot and often with my young child so it's perfect for us.

    i always check for the gate first after getting through security to make sure the plane is on time and there are no additional changes. learned that the hard way and it's better to be safe than sorry.

    Here is a tip for you. Bring a clear ziplock bag (Gallon usually works) and put anything that might possibly setoff the metal detector into it and put it in your normal carrying around backpack/bag. That way when you get to security you just reach down grab the bag and hold it out when you go thru. I have had many of the security folks thank me for doing it that way since the metal detectors were put in place. It also keeps them dry if it rains and makes it easier to find what you need.

    Car parking tip. Everyone tries to park on the lower levels. Go up and you'll find many more spaces to park. Also-- park against an outside wall. It's a lot easier to find your car there than somewhere in the middle of an inside aisle.

    One tip I would add if you are not used to walking...... a lot..... in hot humid weather: bring some bandaids or blister pads into the park with you. There's nothing more miserable than nursing a blistered toe rubbing against your shoe all day. Our last trip we walked 69 miles over 7 days! Foot care is important!

    Another 'sneaky' monorail tip... if you're leaving MK for the TTC and the Express Monorail has a huge line... take the Resort side (if it's significantly shorter of course, which it usually is). You'll only have to stop at the Contemporary before arriving at the TTC anyway. 😉

    Oh i love the packing section! A lot of this was hacks i had. Packing cubes are freaking awesome! Only thing i would add is an over the door shoe organizer if your hotel room has only one bathroom and you have a family of 3 or 4 and have a bunch of little things that the tiny counters dont have much room.

    I have transportation advice. If you are waiting for a Monorail at Poly, or GF and they say that it is broken and a bus will be coming to take you to the park - DONT WAIT for the bus! Get a ride share or start walking. It takes that bus a while to arrive sometimes and you may have been first in line for that monorail, but the rear of that crowd makes it to the bus before you do. It may even take two busses to get everyone that was in line for the monorail onto a bus. This messed up the entire day because I did not make my rope drop. Also, buy Genie Plus if you miss rope drop.

    Know the weather before you go to a park. Our hotel has a free breakfast. In the breakfast room was a TV with the weather. It was Oct. 21 and we went to Universal and it was chilly and not hot like you would think. If you ask a cast member how to get back to your hotel make sure you let the person know if it's an off sight hotel like we stay at so the person knows exactly where you should go. And it is good to know exactly where you are going, like what lane you want as that helps more too, so you don't miss your bus back to your hotel. I don't bring a lot when I pack. I just mix and match. I hate to bring a lot of stuff but I do bring what I need. If you have too just wash stuff out in the sink, You can look on line before you leave your house to find out exactly what the weather will be.

    One other tip. If you go to Disney during the summer months and are staying at a Disney resort think about packing a spare set of clothes/deodorant/soap and shampoo with you in your park bag or have your items handy in the bag/s you are having guest services hold for you. Then head back to the resort about 30 minutes earlier than you might otherwise and shower in the pool house. It's so much nicer heading to the airport and catching your flight back if you are clean and fresh smelling plus if you have a late flight you don't need to clean up once you get home you can just go straight to bed!

    Fry Bucket, you and I are so similar. We are both small organized practical gals from Texas, though I wish I had your speed. It totally makes sense to check the gate cause some airlines (not mentioning specifics) like to change the gate and time on you super last minute and the update probably will not even show up on your phone app. Love that Breedlove reminded us to get TSA pre check. I don’t have it, but am definitely considering it as it seems fairly inexpensive for a good investment and after all, time is money.

    I always get travel or sample sizes of my facial products so they don't take as much room and I can just throw away at end of trip. Same with toothpaste, cheap toothbrushes. We really go minimum. My husband and I share one expandable medium suitcase for 10-12 days at Disney. I make sure everything fits un-expanded so there is room for my shopping haul coming home. It amazing what you can live without., And since I know I'm going to buy tee shirts I don't even bring shirts for every day. And ALWAYS put medications in carry-on. I use backpack purse that I can put under seat as I can no longer do overhead at my age.
