Best album by T.Rex has got to be Electric Warrior --loaded with killer tunes!!
Fantastic album. I still have the vinyl.
That was my first 8 track.
Good album for sure but my favorite is "The Slider".
Loved Electric Warrior, Monolith is the track of the album for me. Played loud in a darkened room it takes me back to times and places I barely remember..
Got it in one! Stillhave my vinyl copy from 1972!
Love this track. Always takes me back to when I saw Bowie at the Milton Keynes Bowl. He played this over the PA after his show ended and the whole crowd filed out arm in arm and hand in hand singing along 'La la la la la la la'. Epic moment. Marc Bolan is a legend. Great songwriter, and he and David Bowie were good friends. I always appreciated that nod of respect from Dave (who I saw live 6 times). What an era that was.
I was at that show. It was a sweltering day. Not a great venue in that weather.
That's a great memory. Thanks for telling us, I love it 😊
T Rex is one of my favorites. So many great songs. But the ultimate for me is The Slider. So incredible!!!
The Slider & Cosmic Dancer…are my favorites!
-#cheers-- !-
Oh yeah and when I’m sad…. I slide
Electric Warrior & The Slider are two of the best albums by anyone ever.
@@sanzoftatooine I totally agree with you, I play them all the time!
Bowie's "Lady Stardust" is said to be about Marc Bolan. RIP to both genius artists.
Both my loves!!
Bowies Lady Stardust is about Marc, he was Lady Stardust. His picture would be projected behind Bowie during the song in Bowies early concerts.
The Prettiest Star was about Marc not Lady Stardust and Marc played guitar on Bowie's original version.
T-Rex - 20th Century Boy!
Such a banger
They had so many great songs, but classic rock radio only plays one T. Rex song: “Get It On (Bang A Gong)”. I used to listen to a radio station in the UK many years ago which plays so many of their hit songs. That’s how I discovered so much of their music.
A must.
Very nice17
This!!
Marc Bolan the lead singer and David Bowie are credited with being the pioneers of Glam Rock in the really early 70's
Jay & Amber, you'll love their "Jeepster" !!
Jeepster and Bang a Gong are my favorites!
Love T- REX awesome band, lead singer is called Mark Bolan, other great songs of theirs are,
I love to Boogie,
20th century boy,
Telegram sam,
Children of the revolution,
Metel Guru,
Ride a white swan.
All awesome songs of theirs.😎🎸🎵👌
Not as big as some of his other hits but I like Laser Love
@@WhatAboutThemApples They don't have to be big hits to be good songs.
Jeepster was the best. They also did a song called Thunderwing. It was a B side. But should have been an A side.
Great list! I'd add Cosmic Dancer
@@stevenorthwick2480 Tony Visconti’s string arrangement is awesome on this
Named my eldest son after Marc...Taken far far too young..RIP Cosmic Dancer....Keep a little Marc in your heart! 💖💖💖🇬🇧💖💖💖
"Children Of The Revolution" is my favorite T.Rex song. It was also covered by the Violent Femmes. ✌️
Also by Ke$ha. She totally slayed it - go and take a listen. 🙂
My Fave T Rex song and their biggest hit here in Australia
T Rex were hot in the early 1970's (almost worldwide, except for the USA). Marc Bolan (RIP) was a genius.
Get It On was their only US major hit peaking at number 10. Strangely only after it was renamed Bang a Gong.
I was a huge fan of T Rex in my teenage years and saw them in concert. When lead singer Marc Bolan tragically died in a car accident in 1977, I changed the spelling of my first name to Marc and it's been that way ever since. Such a great talent to lose far to early. Please do I Love To Boogie.
This takes me right back, I was 10 years old in 1971 and first heard it at probably the first ever Disco I went to 👍🎶🎵
I have so many favorite T-Rex songs! Ride a white swan was my childhood favorite ❤
You could always tell how popular a song was when it became part of the football terrace songs and chants back then. Even today the Na Na ……. chorus is still sung.
That was a great tune! Hey, speaking of summer vibes, Nat King Cole had a really happy summer song, called Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer. Lots of fun to listen to.
"T REX - RIDE A WHITE SWAN" 😍❤️👍🇬🇧
The TRex that always tripped me out was
Elemental Child. So different.
Mad fact, lead singer Marc Bolans son never knew him as he died young, he only found out his dad was famous at 16yrs old when he passed a record shop and seen his dads face, then his mum confessed she'd kept it secret to protect him.
SLADE - “Tak’ me bak ‘ome” is a must…classic seventies
This is a great track so if you like this try listening to I Love to Boogie and Ride a White Swan. Marc Bolan shared a flat with David Bowie and mentored him and actually gave Bowie his break on British TV. T-Rex had around 20 hits and a big star in the UK when he was killed in a car crash driving head-on into a tree.
He of course was not driving, it was his girlfriend at the wheel. Sadly Marc knew he would never make old bones, he said as much in an interview.
I'm 65 now and still love Marc bolan
This was no 1 for many weeks in uk, hot summers, happy times
Marc Bolin had his own TV show in the 70's. 👍
I remember one day in 1971 when we were in the school bus heading for Morden swimming baths when I turned to David Simpson and asked him "Do you like Hot Love?". He went and sat with someone else.
Ah, 1971! Bolan created a massive shift in popular music, what a time to be getting into music.
Love Marc Bolon and T- Rex ❤
This was the very start of Glam Rock. Marc had a couple of stick on stars under his eyes, and it all went crazy after that.
One of those songs where the outro is twice as long as the main song!!!!
Welcome to the world of Glam Rock, you did T. Rex and The Sweet now looking for Slade and Gary Glitter, so fun and catchy 😊
One of the best from the era. Sorely missed.
I have always loved Marc Bolan /T Rex. And I was pleased to see Pans People gyrating too.
Request "20th Century Boy" in studio version. Infectious hook or guitar riff imo.
Can never decide which is my favourite. Hot love or get it on, both monster hits back in the day, love them both. This I believe, was no 1 in the UK for 8 weeks solid.
The Hits,Jeepster, The Groover, Teenage Dream, 20th Century Boy, Metal Guru, but T Rex done some Equally stunning song real heart melters, Lifes a Gas, "Electric Slim & The Facory Hen" my favourite, also "Highway Knees" is beautiful, Teenage Dream all great with crazy lyrics , enjoy guy's ❤
60s top ten song - “ Gimme little sign, “ by Brenton Wood
For me this was 8.00 Pm Thursday (I think) "Top of the Pops" in England 1971, I was 6 years old but allowed to stay up and watch this, Dad hated it
R.I.P Marc Bolan
The first 45 I ever owned - and I still have it!
One of the Biggest Glam Rock Bands. Germany Fells in Love with T.Rex. Interested that there are no Reactions to two other Big Glam Rock Groups. „Gary Glitter- Rockn Roll Part two“ or to „Mud - Tiger Feet“.
As a young un the album Electric Warrior was hardly off my turntable (that's how we played music "in the olden days" kids lol)
Would love to see reactions to 'Cosmic Dancer' 'Mambo Sun' 'Solid Gold Easy Action' and the early track 'Deborah' released under the name Tyrannosaurus Rex which I remember getting for a present as a 14 year old.
Yes, Deborah was brilliant ... only Marc could get the word Zebra in a song 🤣 ... guy was a poet.
Another great band you might like ( I think the name may draw you) is "Mott The Hoople", with Ian Hunter.
Yes! 20th century boy!
This is the classic performance, from the BBC's weekly pop programme Top of the Pops, where Marc Bolan "invented" Glam Rock simply by putting some glittery make-up beneath his eyes! (The make-up was his stylist's idea). Typically, the Beeb wiped the master tapes but luckily this performance survives because it was used on German TV who were much better at maintaining an archive. The dancers are TOTP's resident dance troupe Pan's People who would usually perform when an artist was unable to appear in the studio but also did extras like this. T Rex performed Hot Love for a second time on TOTP and that also survives. Pan's People also appear again, this time not in costume, leading a group of audience members.
One of my favorites
The greatest chorus of all time
Oh yes. The beginning of this is instantly recognizable. ... and my youth comes back to me:) a huh.......... they were soooo cool.
1973 I had an 8trac tape of this in my 1961 Ford Falcon, CRUISIN" the Parkway. also some CCR and Sweet
glam rock at its best , so sad he died so young before he had the chance to reach full potential , he has a son called rolan bolan who at the same age of his dad in the 70s ,was the splitting image of him. the strangest thing about marcs death was he never learnt to drive , so his girlfriend was driving the mini when it hit a tree killing marc . september 1977
Marc Bolan had a very distinctive voice and a good vibe
The base line almost sounds like it's from a 1950s western movie.
Metal Guru & Children Of The Revolution are a must react!
T-Rex really are a vibe and I looove Marc Bolan!
LOVE THIS!!!!!
You know they make a thing you can put outside that only dogs can hear and they quit barking!
Some cool bands and singers around this era , David Essex, Slade, Sweet, David Bowie, David Cassidy.
„Jeepster“ is very cool, too.
We had some great bands back in the 70s
My favorite album by T Rex is the slider album. Probably the most popular one from my time in the 70s. Take a listen think you'll love it. 😊
Guys. Thanks for your fantastic channel. Next T.Rex song that you select to react to has to be…. 20th CENTURY BOY
Another band from the Early 70s Called ( Middle of the Road ) songs ( Chirpy Chirpy cheep Cheep / Soley Soley / Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum / Sacramento / Talk of All the USA )
Great selection of music today guys three bangers from the 70s.
I can see my dad in his 1600e cortina listening to this
The Sweet, T Rex all part of the glam rock era
Great reaction to T Rex , it's great to see the younger generation appreciation of music from bygone eras when singers sang and people played live without auto tune etc ...following on from your comments about checking out fans suggestions may I put forward Tom Jones ...without love,
Green green grass of home or even the duet with Wilson picket, or possibly jie bonamassa & Paul rodgers,
This was t Rex’s first U.K. no 1 in the U.K. for 7 weeks
I'd love you two to do 'Drive' by Joe Bonamassa. It's such a cool song to drive to, esp in Summer. Always makes me feel calm too😊 pretty please❤ love your Channel btw .
Another 70's band to check out -- Mott The Hoople. They did a David Bowie cover of "All The Young Dudes." Check it out. Also "Ballad of Mott The Hoople." :)
Mambo Sun is a must listen to.
Simple but catchy tune.
Marc Bolan ... died to young 🌹
You guys!! 20Century Boy!!!
Cosmic Dancer and 20th Century Boy and Children of the Revolution for sure. Please don’t wait another two years before hitting them again!
Get It On is the song to hear from T Rex
Jeepster is my favorite from T-Rex. Marc Bolan was a one of a kind artist in the era of Glitter Rock and still is great 2 listen 2. Thanks.
Children of the Revolution by T. Rex is highly recommended
T Rex, Dang, I love this band. I listen to T Rex regularly! Marc Bolan was such a unique songwriter. Check out "Spaceball Ricochet", and "Ballrooms Of Mars"; you'll be glad you did!
You haven't been back to the Moody Blues since Nights in White Satin, if I remember correctly. They are a super group. I emailed you a list of MB song suggestions a couple months back. You should hear Tuesday Afternoon, Gypsy or Never Comes the Day. Soooo many rop 40 radio releases.
Ride A White Swan and 20th Century Boy. Fantastic
You have no idea how huge this band was and this song was number one for over a month in the U.K . They were the first of the really huge bands of the 70`s and are credited with the invention of glam rock , they influenced many, many bands of the later punk rock and New Wave of the 80`s Morrissey claims Marc was his inspiration to get into the music business. He was close friends and managed by the same manager as David Bowie and Marc`s last appearance before his death was with David Bowie . They started out as a folk band with eccentric Tolkien influenced lyrics called Tyrannosaurus Rex , shortened the name and became a rock/pop phenomenon. Marc was also the first teen idol of the 70`s and caused hysterics not seen since the Beatles at concerts where nobody could possibly hear the music over the screaming girls Jeepster, Telegram Sam, Metal Guru, Children of The Revolution, 20th Century Boy, I Love To Boogie, New York City are amongst their most popular songs, though I have always loved Jeepster best. A large part of my teenage years died with Marc in September 1977.
T-Rex "20th Century Boy" ❤🎶La La La la la la la. ♥ 🎼🇬🇧🎶🎙
Sometimes I think my dog likes T-Rex more than the neighbors
Another song the you all would love is Never ending song of love by the Seekers, yes Judith Durham a super voice you all heard her
Amber trying to do the choreography was awesome. Lol. A few groups you haven't reacted to in a bit: The Band, System of a Down, Radiohead, Otis Redding. And thought it hasn't been that long, Tori Amos would be great to get back to as well.
Pans people were the dancers on Top of the pops absolutely brilliant fantastic dancing
My favourites was Ride a white swan Hot love
Pip the main character in "Great Expectations", an orphan.
Y'all really need to do T-Rex's 20th Century Boy next, it's their hardest rocking song & I think it will right up Jay's alley.
For another 70's Summer song try Soley Soley by Middle Of The Road.
i swapped Relics by Pink Floyd with my mate for Electric Warrior......best deal ever, Bolan all over my bedroom wall and all the singles whenever they were released, a golden period no doubt
T-Rex is fantastic! Since you guys like them so much, here’s a suggestion for a movie to watch - Billy Elliot. It uses a lot of T-Rex songs, plus it has a great storyline.
It was released in February 1971 the first of 4 U.K. no 1s
If you like them slow then its got to be T.REX, Marc Bolan singing "life's a gas". I love it.
Boogie music! Love it!
Sweet and T Rex in one night, I think I must have time slipped to Top of The Pops 1972, damn, yes, it’s Pans People. 😂✌️
20th Century Boy! Bring it on!
Try Jeepster, Ride a White Swan and The Slider. All great T-Rex Songs!
T. Rex Glam Rock before the term was coined! Jeepster for your Love, Metal Guru, Buick McCaine, Cosmic Dancer, Ballrooms Of Mars, I Love To Boogie, The Slider.
20th Century Boy is a must!
The Fratellis did a live cover of this song combined with Goldfrapp's "Ooh La La" which was really good. I'm not recommending a reaction to that version, but y'all have to react to the Fratellis! Try "Chelsea Dagger" (their most well-known song and the goal theme for the Chicago Blackhawks), "Flathead", or "Whistle for the Choir" 😊
Hello *The Family,*
Please try *"Chicory Tip - Son Of My Father • TopPop."* If you appreciated *T.Rex - Hot Love,* you'll love this title! The music was composed by *Giorgio Moroder* in 72 on the legendary *Moog* (first commercial synthesizer).
Peace, folks. ☮😉
