@@assholebynature888 They are both similar enough rifles in design and appearance, it is an easy mistake to make. I got the two confused for years myself, as there are a lot of similar designs from this time period as gunsmiths of the day continually danced around each others patents etc.

Ellis Brittle eye patch moved around from his right eye when riding (0:28) to his left eye when being shot at (0:29). I think this is either because Quentin wanted him to fall to the right side to maintain direction or just a simple continuity goof.
Rather glaring mistake here--the man who owns the property is carrying a Henry repeating rifle. However, this film takes place in 1858. The Henry repeater was not available until 1862 and would not have been available to Southern customers until 1865, after the end of the war.
they were often for show. some only had a single bullet or weren’t loaded at all. so any potential robbers passing by probably wouldn’t even take the risk because it was a lot easier to just rob an unguarded home. furthermore, the idea of arming your slaves with a bunch of bullets was silly because they would probably massacre their owners.
@@ryan43816 Why would they do that? Killing their slave owner wouldn't only mean certain death in terms of an execution, it would also mean destroying their secure livelihood they were raised into. The harsh truth is: People will endure a lot of misery as long as it means a stable livelihood and their family is secure - they won't endanger this stability. Especially if your slave owner is one of the better ones it would be stupid to risk that 'luxury'.
@@BlackChad792 uh i’m not tryna be that guy but slavery is the opposite of stability inherently. and yeah killing your owner in the deep south as a slave would likely get you lynched. maybe you’d get a show trial and maybe they’d just drag you out back and not even bother. it was freaking brutal out there

If you watch closely he is actually adjusting the elevation on his rolling block rifle while he plans his shot. Very cool little detail.
That's not a Remington rolling-block rifle. It is a Sharps 1874 Buffalo, which is a falling-block loader.

Damn the Henry 1860 is so cool
Best looking lever action ever made 👍
It is so cool. But only if it exist in 1858, where Django took place.

Literally unwatchable. You've ruined everything.

I just noticed that the plantation owner had a mixed kid standing at his right hand.
I was looking at his posse too.
Fantastic film
That is one of the most satisfying rifle kills in cinema.
Yes. And I can't decide if it's mainly because of the cool way it happened, or because the target absolutely deserved it.
And no scope...
Damn i like waltz’s performance
That's the sidearm Tubbs should have been packing during the Miami Vice Era.
I love this movie
That 1866 yellowboy Winchester and 1865 spencer carbine weren't around yet in 1858 which is when this movie takes place in

So some slaves could carry rifles?
If their job is being a guard, yeah.
