Flying from Byron Bay to Outback Western NSW - Day 2

On the second day of our Fly away Brett and I started at sunrise at the Byron/Ballina Gateway airport, where we flew up over the Cape Byron lighthouse where we had the most unreal morning seeing the sunrise from a different perspective in our little P28A.
We then headed west, where we experienced mountain waves for the first time. This had both of us relatively inexperienced pilots scratching our heads to figure out what was going on, but finally, Brett suggested it was mountain waves and we found a gap and progressed on.
After landing in Moree YMOR and getting some food at the local Puma service station walking distance from the aerodrome we then got back in the plane and continued west.
In Cobar YCBA we had the quickest refuel and turn around either of us had done before with a total stop time of less than 20minutes to refuel, toilet, taxi, runups and take off.
After Cobar, we flew low at around 1500ft and then down to 500, following wild goats and exploring the landscapes until we arrived at Wilcannia YWCA.
This was a long day of flying with the AC clocking up around 7.5 - 8 hours.
