Yes, we definitely needed to bring our electric vests. It was much colder than anticipated, but we also know better than to not bring the option with us.
full heated jacket under my armored waterproof jacket, heated grips and in the really shoulder season, hippo hands, for me. it does change riding completely.
That was such a long time ago, we don't even remember what we had. Most of that gear has been replaced now as Alpinestars has been making a significant investment in re-engineering their ADV collection.
I"m in the process of trying to get a 690 or a 701 right now. Freakin' tough market! Loving your channel for ideas. Having been to some of the places you filmed (Djupavik was AMAZING), I'm sitting here legit welling up. Iceland was such a truly beautiful and welcoming yet scarily-isolated place at times. It's the only place I've traveled that I sit around and actively miss. A buddy and I have been talking about doing an Iceland ride for a while. And, while it would be an adventure of its own to plan and do one oneself, I'm thinking we'll try to make the initial one with Ride With Locals to remove some of that planning burden and just get out there and ride.
Iceland is truly an incredible place and we can fully empathize with you. Ride With Locals is fantastic. Highly recommended. Let them know that Upshift sent you.
Just checked out their website. Kudos to them for being sold out till next year but the fact that you have to have a minimum of four participants in your group to book is complete crap.
@@brmmotorsport The website won’t allow you to book for one or even for two. It requires four to check out. And I am not lonely enough to piss away $6000 to help Iceland horribly overpriced economy.
electric vest and heated grips... you'll never complain about being cold again...great video!!!

Completely agree! Riding other people's bikes on the beach... even better. ;)
Hey guys - very cool. Favor? Post the exact model(s) of the Alpinestars weather gear (jackets, pants, gloves) you were wearing? Maybe post links?

You would want to reach out to them and ask. We just had a date and showed up and went with it.
What time of year was your trip?
We were there June 10th - 19th 2021.

you can book for 1 and there will be more lonely people like you who will be in the same group as you.... :-)
