Weaning - Day 2

I’m back out with the mums and cria. 12 mums and 22 cria. The other 10 mums are just the other side of the fence. All seems to be going smoothly, with no significant signs that any of them are stressed by the separation.
I’m watching out for a few things in these first couple of weeks. I want to check the cria weights, so weigh daily. This morning about half were up, a couple static and a couple slightly down. Nothing that worried me. None of the cria are trying to get back through the fence to their mums, although Melody, always close to her mum, is staying close to the fence.
I’m checking mums and cria are all normally active and not looking uncomfortable. When the cria stops suckling, although most of the mums will be producing very little milk for their 5+ month old cria, there is a low risk of mastitis, so another thing to check if one is not behaving normally.
So far so good with this group.

Do any of the weaning cria try to nurse from the other mothers that are still nursing their cria? Or will the mums not let other cria nurse from them.
