"She sells sea shells, sell oil as well." The origin of the Shell Oil name can be traced back to the seashells that Marcus Samuel senior imported from the Far East during the late 19th Century for sale in the Europe and Britain. Ren's use of the tongue twister is genius.
I love every money game! Money games 3 was my 1st premiere of anything I ever watched on UA-cam and he was the 1st artist I ever subscribed to! He has made it very memorable!
RIP George Carlin. Nice connection Corkey! You might not get the bars but you get the wider context? ❤ And Charli's editing is off the scale in actually making you both look like you're intelligent and insightful! Untill the bloopers? 🤔😎❤
Another great reaction Girls number 3 is a masterpiece also love the way you edit and the end is always fun thank you sending big love from a renegade in the UK ❤❤

There's a BTS of them rehearsing in a dead end street in Brighton with Romain hooded lol. The poor neighbours 🤣😂😄 The acoustic on Money Game 1 is perfect. Ren and Sam search for where would work. Conch shells were classed as exotic and everyone wanted them. From big to small shells for jewelry. I remember my grandmother having them
Another great reaction! You ladies never disappoint! ❤ Can't wait for Money Game 3! If you haven't done Money Ties yet, (I could check, but I'm being lazy 😂) perhaps that one should be next. 😊
pretty sure the scene you're talking about is in season 4 where John and Arthur have "invited" Mr. Changretta (sorry for butchering the crap out of that spelling!) over for a "chat" with Tommy. and yes, it's very reminiscent of that scene. also, awesome reaction as always, thanks so much for sharing, much love to you and yours🙂🙂🙂❤❤❤
I see much less playback video stuttering and freezing, so whatever you are doing, it's working. 👍Have you guys reacted to Ren's "Dear God" lyric video yet? If not, I highly recommend it.
Hello and good day ladies! As per usual, I am going to get into a bit of background on these individual videos for you to provide context. Money Game Part 1 is a one-take video, recorded live, in the basement of an abandoned warehouse in Brighton. It took them 187 takes and they were awake for nearly 24 hours just trying to get the right take. Sam, the usual suspect, is the cinematographer of the video. The gentleman playing the guitar while wearing the bag over his head is Romain Axisa, someone you are familiar with by now. As stated previously, the Money Game series, as a whole is about the aspects of Greed and its influence. Part 1 is about the Systems/Governments involved in the money game itself. A more high level point of view to get you started in understanding its impact more broadly and clearly. This is open to interpretation because Ren has never officially declared, of course, what each character means in these videos, except where explicitly stated, but Ren represents the 'Power' itself, the government, and the chains or ties that bind us together. Romain represents the 'People', blinded by the game itself and unable to see. They are voiceless, sightless, 'out of sight and out of mind'. Ren drawing 'eyes' upon the bag represents that the People suddenly have sight, a voice, a declarative upon Greed itself. The use of the petrol (fuel as its called in the US) can is representing the idea that we must burn the institutions from their current incarnations so that the People can finally be free to use money for its intended purpose instead of what it has become. Also, just so it is clear: when he states "Dear Mr. President...", he is actually talking about Trump in this case. Money Game 1 and 2 were recorded and composed when Trump was in office and prior to COVID-19 pandemic. Money Game Part 2 is a lyric video produced by Ren. He's actually made several of his lyric videos by himself before Square Sun Studios and his other partners started to develop them in later pieces. All scenes in the video are representations of elements of greed in some manner: politicians, resources, money itself, the incarnations of the media and manipulation that it brings, historical figures, protests, riots, and other various elements that all push the narrative forward. Part 2 is about the Methods/Intent behind Greed. The mention of "Hit 'em like Bronson' is a direct reference to a film that Tom Hardy was in called Bronson, about a convicted felon who goes insane to the point of developing Dual Personality Disorder and becomes an unusual figure during the course of the film. I recommend it if you'd like to see Tom Hardy handle an unconventional story and an unconventional character. Very underrated film, imo, and I think Ren agrees hehe. The shot near the very end of the video (literally the last 20 seconds) with a cut scene of Charlie Chaplin (famous physical comedian from 1889-1977) is from his famous piece called 'The Great Dictator' (1940, so during World War II but prior to America entering the War) in which he plays a fictionalised version of Adolf Hitler, a super relevant piece for today's political scene I might add, and the specific sequence you see visually is at the end of that piece where 'The Dictator' declares his solemn promise to cease and desist his policies, agendas, and rhetoric of hate, bigotry, and crime against humanity, seeking the forgiveness of the people for his transgressions and the sincere promises of making the people 'free' once again. It is an extremely important piece in the history of cinema and I HIGHLY recommend you watch it, if you haven't. To actually go over every single scene in the video would be a large undertaking as he directly references almost 100 different pieces of media, events, or people directly involved, in some manner, with Greed and its representations and functions. "She sells seashells on the sea shore" is not just a play on words from an old fairy tale or ditty, but actually a play on the very purpose of the piece: it is about the actual history of the infamous Shell Oil Company, which originally was an actual seashell company that produced products using seashells until they eventually moved on from shells to actual oil, among other products. It is a literal alliteration of the very intent. Ren actually mentions Money Game series in 'Hi Ren' when his 'shadow' side declares "No one wants to hear you talk about how much you hate yourself... Trust me. Oh she sells seashells on the sea shore." The section where Ren explains the process of basic economics is actually a tale on both the Shell Oil Company and Donald Trump, explaining his rise in wealth and ascendence to becoming the President of the United States, without directly inferring or referencing Trump by name or euphemism. I have yet to see someone actually breakdown every single mention of every single clip in the video, though it would be very interesting to see someone truly break this lyric video down. I hope this provides some insight. As always, lovely reactions, and I look forward to Money Game Part 3, though I would say... please don't give Rocky any background info on Part 3. She truly needs to see that one with a fresh, unhindered mind by anything except Part 1 and 2. It is an incredible piece of art and here's one little hint: Ren spent more money on Money Game Part 3 than any single song or video... ever. Even today, with all of his new stuff, it is still the most money he's ever spent... and it shows, marvelously. Much peace and love to you! ^^

Lots of room for interpretation in this one: did he give him sight or just let him see what he wanted him to see? 187 takes from what I remember to get this version of money game 1.
They took a ridiculous number of takes for this - think it was over 140. Pretty sure it was one of their first complex one-takes so a little experimental. Hi Ren had only 4 takes.
No, your miserable because if you were happy and content, you would not be longing to the product they want to sell to you to make you "happy". Logic. 😉Funny by the way that you mentioned George Carlin. If you watch the clips flashing by in Money Game 2, You see Charlie Chaplin, in the movie: The Great Dictator. A movie that came out in 1940. WW2 was just in his beginning. And in that movie Charlie Chaplin wanted to make a statement. The story goes that he did write the text to the final speech in that move, the night before the recording. And you girls really have to watch it, if you never have seen it. Watch out for edited versions. The original is powerful enough. But knowing now how WW2 went, and all the things that happened after that. It's clear he did see the true enemy of mankind. And I believe Ren did get a lot of his worldview also from that single short clip, that so many now have forgotten. 😮💨
"She sells sea shells, sell oil as well." The origin of the Shell Oil name can be traced back to the seashells that Marcus Samuel senior imported from the Far East during the late 19th Century for sale in the Europe and Britain. Ren's use of the tongue twister is genius.

It's a form of 90's rap style (singy rap)- i think bone thugs in harmony made it really popular for a moment.
Can money buy happiness? It can buy guitars and motorcycles which is pretty much the same thing 😁.
Seriously this is genius.
