Everytime I hear this song, I get goose bumps. It is very beautiful. Just fantastic. The 70's came out with some incredible music. Well done Harri!
Agree 100%
The 70's had the best Soft Rock. I miss this era everyday.
Very beautiful, was 16 in 1976. My parents helped me with my first car. 1976 Pontiac Grand Le Man's. Factory 8 Track player. In the radio dial. Played this over and over. Paid my dad back from my grocery store job and cut yards in the summer. It was on the Pontiac dealer floor. 3, 500 miles. A demo. White with firethorne red inside with Automatic and console. Tell your loved ones often. Miss my dad. Thanks dad for stepping out and getting that car. My parents were very rich in love. Both worked hard so my brother and I had a middle class life. My best to all of you.
This is what real music sounds like, not the garbage of today!!!
Spot on comment
There are two songs by two great groups that, while different tunes, in style and a substance, and gentle, beautiful music, I tie together:
Aubrey by Bread and Daisy Jane by America. Two of the 70s most gentle, sweet, melodious tunes from that era.
Wonderful song by a very underrated band. Beautiful harmonies and the violin is haunting. Thank you so much for the listen✌️❤️
Their not underated at all...everybody loved all their great songs.
Amazing vocals, what a band. Haven't heard this one in a while.
Eric...saw them in 81!!
I read somewhere that the heartbeat sound was Gerry pumping a piano pedal☺️Rebecca M
Whenever America performs this song live, at the end of it, Gerry Beckley says thank you to the crowd and then he says, thank you Daisy.
Music is a beautiful thing 🎶
How can anyone not like this ?! Its just good music
It's so real, so pure, and everything today's music is not. We grew up in a better time, that's for sure!!!
Harri, for an old man like me, there has been so much good music in my life that I would be hard-pressed to catalog it all, but you help me to remember some of the finest. Thank goodness for the best of the reaction channels, of which yours is one.
Oh sweet. We never got enough of America’s sublime music
What a great choice Neal. I’m not familiar with this song by America and I thought I knew pretty much all of their stuff. And thank you Harri too.
Thank you, Cynthia...glad you liked it!
I think this is one of America's most beautiful songs. There is no improvement possible. Every part excels.
Funny the harmonies remind me of the harmonies on early Beatle songs.
This has made my day. I saw you were hooked by the first few notes Harri.
Thanks Harri and PNCombies.
Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
You're welcome, Mary!
My favorite is Don’t cross the River ❤️
George Martin produced America too, didn’t he?
Or maybe CSN
Harri, I recommend "You Can Do Magic" and "Lonely People"!!
I got a dog when this was new -named her Daisy . that's how much I liked this song
One of your best reactions!! Beautiful playing the song completely at the end!! Love it!!. 👍👍
Great pick PNCombies. One of my favorite America songs. I love Gerry Beckley's voice. Very nice reaction Harri. 👍🙃🇨🇦🔥🕊️🇺🇸🇬🇧🤴🇺🇦
Thank you, Daniel...definitely a favorite of mine, too!
Their greatest hits album is a must for your 70's collection. Great group , great songs.
Their "History:America's Greatest Hits" album get's played in my house on a weekly basis. A bit of trivia about that album the album cover artwork was done by Phil Hartman, later famous as a member of SNL and the voice of a few Simpsons characters.
This was one of my favorite songs back in my high school days. I am 66 years old now. Brings back so many good memories.
My favorite America tune!
America does not remind me of anything . They have a sound all their own . Incredibly polished yet organic . They are the best soft rock band of the 1970's . And that is saying alot considering how many similar acts were on the radio playing this style of music in the 1970's . They are the cream of the crop...This music has aged very well and I never feel that I've outgrown their songs .They took the whole soft/folk rock thing to another level.
This has always been one of my favorite America tunes.
Glad you've listened to Daisy Jane Harry - its flawless witha wonderful dreamy chorus and one of the smoothest soft rock acoustic songs in the history of smoothest soft rock acoustic songs. Just gorgeous.
This is a great song. One of my favorites. Thanks for the reaction ❤
Always loved this song. It is great to hear someone listen to it and appreciate it all these years later. Great music is timeless.
Guvnor, you may've heard the beginning of this song before (after the heartbeat), as Janet Jackson tried to pull a fast one by nicking it for the opening of her hit song, *"Let's Wait Awhile".* Janet fessed up and paid a large sum to America to avoid litigation. Whether it was part of the official settlement or Janet was just taking an extra step to make things right between her and America, she went on to sample heavily from, *"Ventura Highway",* and this time properly gave writing credit to America and sent them fat royalties from sales of her song, *"Someone To Call My Lover".*
Great story Cosmo. 👍✌️🇨🇦
@@marybaillie8907 I guess it was just a case of Miss Jackson bein' nasty. ;p
I love how the violin is beautifully intermittent in this song I feel it’s an extension of myself🎻
Such a beautiful song. Such a great and unique band. Love it.
its a love song
Love Love Love this incredible song. America's harmonies are next level.
Great choice and as always an incredible reaction Harri
Thank you, miss blondie!
This amazing track takes me back to Stoke On Trent in the mid 70s . . . i was seeing a lovely girl called Margaret Price who worked on the same pottery bank I did, i asked her out and it was just magical she lived just outside Stoke in a lovely little place called Blythe Bridge . . . . .
Alas all good things come to an end and not long after we split i moved down to London to pursue a musical career . . . I am now 66 years years of age and i work as a motorcycle courier and the past couple of years have seen me riding up to Manchester and the North, taking the A50 from the M1 into Stoke to pick up the M6 i pass Blythe Bridge and everytime i do all those wonderful memories come flooding back . . .
I even ventured into the crescent to see if the house was still there and Im torn at trying to reconnect to see how the years have treated her . . . my heart says yes but my head, says no and to let sleeping dogs lie . . .
This song is just so moving, thank you Stoke On Trent for the few happy years i spent there and thank you Maggie, i hope you found happiness and I hope your ok xx
Kudos to PNCombies for track selection, and thank you, Harri, once again, for your wonderful reaction.
@DJBilodeau Thank you!
They make me "fly" and flote with each melody and each note. Great!!!
For all that their music persists, its odd to note that America only ever had one top 40 hit single in the UK. The amount of airplay (and reaction play!) that their stuff still gets is therefore all the more remarkable and testament to its quality.
Although it was out as a single, this song is too - _ guess the word is refined? - to have been a hit or to have got heavy airplay. It has sections where the audio is very low and that long heartbeat intro would have been unheard on a lot of radios at the time it was released. Nevertheless it is a wonderful track and the apparent simplicity of it only enhances it. It is one I have always loved and probably always will.
Well chosen Pncombies. One of my favorites by America. Just beautiful. Of course they have tons of hits and hidden gems. 👍
Thank you, Imadrummin! Loved seeing Harri hearing this nugget for the first time!
I always loved that group. Takes me back to the seventys.
Saw them in 81!!! It was fantástico...omg 42 years ago. I think I went by myself at like 16. It was all I could do was to go to as many concerts as I couldto get away from my horrible childhood.
Dan Peek left the group and died in July 2011.
A key component for their sound / harmonies.
Beautiful song, always bring me to tears somehow.
Sister Golden Hair and You can do Magic, you will love them!

Love this song! Love playing the piano to it. I was in car yesterday and the Janet Jackson song "Let's Wait Awhile" came on the radio, and I hadn't heard that since I was about 12 when it first came out. I had forgotten about the song and said hey wait a minute!
They really have special harmonies, always have had voices tht standout but the music, guitars have their own harmonies too, they are so precise.
I have been trying to sing this song for years. Can't do it.
What a great choice ! One of my faves from America. The piano is just sublime. Reminds me a bit of another song I love (Heart Hotels by Dan Fogelberg. You should totally review it too.).
Thank you, Alexis! I have "Heart Hotels" on a playlist I created for future selections. March is just days away. Maybe Heart Hotels will be one of my four choices!?
I had forgotten this song. I remembered just as soon as I heard the intro. Great pick and reaction Harri!
You have hit 2 great bands the last 2 days, Bread and America.
Hi Harry, I always thought that it was cool that the heartbeat was incorporated into this song which was on America's album entitled "Hearts". - Brooklyn Mike
Hi Harry, The other band you may be recalling is the Beatles - the impeccable arrangement is by George Martin.
The very first band I was ever in played this song
It gives me goose bumps as well every time I listen to it,such a pretty melody and simple but heartfelt lyrics
They are still touring, and they sound wonderful!
Everything America did was great!!
They have a song that is similar to this one called... I Need You.
America had many beautiful songs 👍
This band made a huge impression on me growing up. I hadn’t heard this one a awhile!
Try, “Amber Cascades” for a deeper cut. I’ve seen them livenumerous times throughout
my life and never get tired of hearing their songs.
indeed
I’ve always loved this song. Thank you for your sincere reaction to it.
Yes, I agree that it could have been done by CSNY, or Simon and Garfunkel. I think the third band you’re missing is Bread ❤
They remind me of the band Bread
Bread has some beautiful songs also
Nice one Harri. Beautiful song.
Ever notice that most of America's original studio albums in the 70s, except for their first release, begin with the letter H.
Harri, for me they do have the best vocal harmonies in classical rock but my thoughts have always been that their guitar harmonies are equally important and so amazing the layers and this is an amazing demonstration. 👏
Harri…I think the other group you might have been thinking of that could have sung this song was Bread, or perhaps the Little River Band. All amazing groups, with incredible harmonies.
I used to listen to the first few America albums over and over again in the 70s, when I was in my late 20s. Nice to be reminded of this fine song.
You seem like a sweet dude, Harri. Your one of the good ones!
When I hear this song, it gives me hope.
I know you have done many reactions to Bread. The are in the same category as CSNY, America, and Simon and Garfunkel as 70s groups who have wonderful harmonies
I have enjoyed the America ride your channel has been on! Growing up, all of my closest friends had America’s Greatest Hits and Loggins and Messina’s cleverly titled “Best of Friends.” These two plus Bread’s Greatest Hits were what I think of as good bachelor music. If you had these 3 albums and could put away your Bad Company, Montrose, Rolling Stones, Rush (etc.) records while you were out with a young lady…I think it came across as being interested in her rather than trying to impress her.
I love moment you heard the harmonies, you passed into bliss
Thanks for playing this, Harri. Beautiful song, and good commentary.
America was a great group and you’re right they definitely had great harmonies
Heard the song before, but never noticed the heartbeat
I’ve loved this band so much.
Beautiful song, melody, lyrics, harmonies and instrumentation.
Harry, have you ever heard Mr Dieingly Sad? It's in the same vein as this one. It's by a group called The Critters. It's basically a one hit wonder but what a song. Came out in 66. One of the best years in pop music. Hear me now and thank me later. YW.
Hey Jackson. That is weird you mentioning Mr. Dieingly Sad as I have
requested it for my July list. 👍🤫🙃
@@danielvolk237 Yeah, it's one of my favorite songs of all time. It's like the perfect pop song. Right up there with God Only Knows.
No one writes songs like this anymore. Pls react to their song Inspector Mills. Thanks.
Song was from their 5th album, Hearts, produced by Sir George Martin. Your screenshot is of their 2nd album, Homecoming.
It's not Harri's screen shot. It was the background pic on the You Tube link of "Daisy Jane" that I chose for Harri to react to. Our selections as patrons have to have over 200K views, which this one had.
❤❤❤❤
Janet Jackson Just a Little While has the Same melody. One of the sound enginnet dicover the melody call Geoffry Beckah. Then she was chargr with plaugism
. They seetle out of court.😅
❤️❤️❤️
They have been compared to CSNY. When asked how they felt about that they were flattered.
Beautiful song by America. Check out a song they did for a cartoon movie called The Last Unicorn. It's a beautiful haunting song a lot of folks haven't heard cause it's synonyms with the movie.♥️🎸🦄
ua-cam.com/video/9qtYhmig14o/v-deo.html
I could see Seals & Crofts singing this tune as well Loggins & Messina.
Let’s wait awhile by Janet Jackson definitely took this melody
Inspector Mills, please react to this America song
Not one of their well known songs but still great. Amazing how many people are just discovering this great group.
Daisy Jane reached #20 on the Billboard 100 and #2 on the Billboard Easy listening. It was played throughtout the summer of '75 on FM and Am stations!
Try Sandman from 1st album most upbeat song they have the flip side of A Horse with no Name
ua-cam.com/video/fRItHihu8TI/v-deo.html
This song actually came out years after the album cover that was displayed. And that wonderful piano was played by their producer Sir George Martin, a name I know you are familiar with.
That's the way the person who downloaded it set it up. I just needed 200K views for Harri to react to it.
ua-cam.com/video/svnl5cAhdnY/v-deo.html
Sounds like Hall and Oates too.
America sued Janet Jackson and won for her song " Let's Wait A While". Her intro is very similar to this song. It's crazy but artists can claim the rights to just 2 or 3 notes.
Producer George Martin (The Beatles producer) played the piano on the song.
Are you sure? Gerry always plays the piano part at concerts.
Seals and Croft
Or should I say ex Beatles producer George Martin at the time of this recording?
👍
Heartbeats? OMG your a genius!!!!!!!!

Listen to Today's the Day. A great America song.
Produced by the Beatles producer George Martin.
Yes. The violin here is I suppose because of George Martin's influence. Jean-Luc from Paris (America's fan since 1973)
I believe 'The Eagles' were the band with great harmonies that you may have been thinking about.
No, it was America. Go back and check out Harri's reactions to other America songs. He loves the Eagles as well - and their harmonies - but he was definitely referring to America's beautful tone and harmonies.
or seals and crofts
☮️❤️🔥🔥🔥🎶🎵🎶🎵...😪
Wanna hear pain recorded? Listen to Janis Joplin .. A woman left lonely
Harri, America is from England oddly enough.
Not really. lol The three members were sons of American servicemen stationed in England at the time when the boys decided to form the band. But make no mistake, they are all Americans, and even wrote of fond memories growing up in southern California in songs like, *"Ventura Highway".* Also, soon after forming the band they moved to California, and were one of the hallmark groups of the early to mid '70s "California Sound" in the rock music industry.
What Cosmo said! I was also the son of an Air Force pilot and officer.
@@pncombies Great selection, pn! America's my 3rd favorite band, after ELO and Zeppelin. I've got a few America tracks in mind for the Guvnor coming down the pike.
@@Cosmo-Kramer Thank you, brother! I love that Harri was hearing this for the first time. I first heard it in the summer of '75 when I was in high school. Looking forward to your selections down the road!
@@pncombies Oh yeah! Same timeline for my introduction!
