Did I go to Michigan? no. Was I an MT? No. Am I hype for another Michigan MT Senior Entrance? YES! I have been waiting for this video since August!
Exactly! So excited!
Exactly! Omg.
SAME!
same same same! and then go back to watch the MT senior group for when this batch were freshmen and in the audience like wow * time *
Ok Same! As soon as mid- August hit, I was checking everyday
I'm a theatre kid who chose not to pursue it in university and it's so bittersweet to watch these.
I thought I was the only one who was depressed watching this lmaaooo
same 😭
Same! While I’m happy with the choices I made, I just miss being on stage so much when I see these 🥺
Same! We should all try to join an amateur production this year, I think we've earned it
Exactly this. It hurts to know this'll never be you but it's still such a joy to be shared.
You can just feel the “we’ve been waiting to get back on stage for over a year” energy, here! This may be the best one of these I’ve ever seen (and I’ve watched pretty much all of them in the past month haha). Incredible work, class of ‘22.
What is a Senior Entrance exactly?
@@spiderdance4745 I believe it’s a performance/orientation thing for the incoming freshman. They sing about various things on campus, introduce themselves and their teachers, and I think they invite then to a welcome party or something LOL
the Hamilton section has me in tears. literally crying. You can feel the energy and passion through the screen, I can only imagine how the freshman felt watching this live.
I’ve been stalking the Michigan senior entrances for the last month waiting for this to be listed
Saaaaame.
same lol
YEP ....Been watching for it since August!!!
I love how uplifting and supportive of the freshmen this was. This might be my favorite senior entrance so far - never thought I'd say this. :') and that original song!!! *chef's kiss*
The BIPOC section almost made me cry with such proudness that my crowd and my people were being so represented in this!!!
No idea who the Michael that they are singing about is, but he must have done something right to deserve that GORGEOUS cronchy harmony in the "Sunday" section. and the PLACEMENT my god
Michael McElroy I believe. He Played Tom Collins in RENT.
Michae McElroy is the Department and that is his arrangement of Sunday they were singing. His own harmonies! He’s an incredible Broadway Vet and led the Broadway Inspirational Voices choir for many years and they sang his own arrangements of Broadway songs.
Department Chair
gave me the MOST chills it was INCREDIBLE
@@gradescape i didn't know it was his arrangement! that makes it so much more beautiful and touching. this 2022 class has such a mesmerising combination of heart, talent, technical ability and commitment. it's really astonishing
Oh look…. my annual UA-cam watch of a theater program I was never a part of nor majored in from a college I didn’t even attend. And I love it.
20:12 honestly just wow. they’re ability to harmonize so naturally is literally so good
I have an acquaintance (a bit of a stretch… I don’t think he knows who I am) in this class at UofM. I remember when he got into the program, everyone in our community was so proud of him. It’s so weird to see him as a senior now, and I know he’s just going to thrive after he gets out there!
Never even been to the state of Michigan but I'll be damned if I don't wait around for these every year. These young artists are next level and this performance is exceptional. Thank you to MT theatre for giving us this joy every year!
WOW I've been watching these for so long and this was so special. The VOCAL. QUALITY. AND. TONE. like DAMN. and the harmonies in Sunday gave me CHILLS and made me tear up. and I LOVED the original song. and the POC feature was awesome
I am a 15 year old teenager from Canada who’s never even heard of this university or it’s musical theatre program but this video brought tears to my eyes. The talent, creativity and overall really positive energy that this video brought is insane.❤️
Never heard of the UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN? What. ... you been living under a rock? It's one of the absolute BEST universities in the United States of America!! 👍🤗🏈👍
I'm 72, which means I've been a theater kid for 60 years. (Those two numbers astonish me as I key them.) You're all wonderful. Enjoy every minute--even the awful ones--of your brave, tender, joyful, terrible, passionate lives. My heart goes with you.
This year. Wow. So much to be proud of. The best cohesive production. The best orchestra. The best composing and arranging. The best video production. The best choreography. The best staging. The best working together as a team. Need I go on and on? Overall, the best of all the years from this top-notch school. You guys really knocked it out of the park. Congrats to all. 👏👏👏👏👏👏😇
Senior year is always a fantastic event ....this group just left a memorable experience for all who sees it!!! Far by the very BEST Senior Entrance I have seen ....BRAVO!!!
I'm literally just a Maths teacher from the UK, and this is the highlight of my year every year
this is my favorite one!
It makes me so happy to see these getting more and more diverse :)
Love this! If there had been more diversity in the industry ten years ago I may have felt comfortable enough to pursue musical theater. Big kudos to all you beautiful people making Broadway and theatre more inclusive and wonderful.
"Junior glow up's just beyond the other side! Glow up, glow up, glow up! Grow up." As a high school junior, I wasn't expecting that line to be so terrifying.
Omg Maggie Kuntz!!! I’ve been following her since her “Hello Dolly!” performance in the 2018 Jimmy Awards! She has blossomed into such a star :’)
Man those 8 really made me proud 😭
Ok so I’m in Singapore and I don’t know why this was recommended to me. But, as a musical theatre fan, I’m glad it was. My jaw dropped at the level of talent. I can’t believe you guys are students. I was in London and listened in on a class of MT students there. They pale compared to you. But I’m also an ex Producer who spots special talent. I promise you, the guy who played the violin at the end, he will make it big. Ps who is he???
I wish I had even just a sliver of the talent these people have.
I will just go to Michigan to see MT's production, they're the best among the best!!!
Since WHEN was Maggie Kuntz a senior at UMich…I am the BIGGEST MAGGIE KUNTZ FAN. TWO YEARS IN A ROW AT THE JIMMY AWARDS
Ive been watching these since 2018 and Im now watching this during my first year of college for performing arts
the lil kiss on the forehead the guy gave to the girl behind the cello at the end embodies this class and their talent: so. pure.
I am so darn proud to be a Wolverine! Go Blue! Can't wait to see the amazing futures all of you will have!
finally watching this and margot being bruce at the beginning is so real
Yes!!! Every year a new obsession 🥰
This is exactly why this is school is for me ! You guys are amazing !!

It’s acc so crazy how much I look forward to the senior entrance every year, and to see some familiar faces that I follow on insta or who were in the Jimmy awards at some point. Wishing all these insanely talented people all the best ❤️🎉

Outstanding! Best one yet! 👍🤗💞
I’ve rewound to 9:12 probably 20 times already and I’m still cracking up.
Omg the video quality has improved so much
Why am I so emotional watching this?!
One more year. One more video. Consistently amazing. Go blue, indeed.

I love the Mortal Kombat guy hahahhaa
Don't get any of the refrences obviously but it was soooooo good ❤❤
I always cry when I watch these type of videos, because I know that it's very impossible for me to be entering these type of colleges.
This is amazing
I was wondering how long it took to "write " this show and how long your rehearsed it ?
what’s on the paper plates??? I need to know!!!
ere’s the list of the songs/musicals:

I think...im transferring
What does the girl at 3:13 have on the back of her shirt? I can’t read it and it’s driving me crazy!!

does anyone know how long they work on this?
@Ethan Hardy Benson wow!!! So impressed! I thought you guys worked on it during the summer time! Bravo!
@Ethan Hardy Benson wow! I’m already amazed by how amazing you guys are every year but now my mind is totally blown that it was rehearsed and perfected in such a short time window. Incredible! I’ve watched this at least 25 times since release and I’m seeing different details in the choreography every single time. Massive well done to all of you. Such stars!

@@parvapixel they were in the credits of the vid
I loved the last song and asked myself where did I hear it before then I saw its original, lovely
These senior entrances always make me emotional, but this is the first time I've really felt that sort of pure friendship where you just sit around, playing the guitar and having one of those solemn jam sessions after a long day... I don't think I've seen them actually play instruments before, but it was a really nice touch... you could really feel the love class of 22 has for each other and what they do... GOOD LORD I'm emotional
Class of 2022 has produced a polished, beautifully entertaining performance that captured the pure, extravagant, classic essence of musical theatre that got me to love it in the first place :') Bravo. What a talented bunch.
I think this is the best one I’ve seen so far, don’t get me wrong I love all of them, but this one is just different. You can feel the energy through the screen, you can see how excited everyone is to finally be back. Loved this, it had me in tears.
SAMEEEE
so as a senior in college in a different school, this whole thing hit me hard, especially that amazing original song! great vibes all throughout and it definitely hits harder this year now that i'm actually a senior.
I can’t stop rewatching maybe now as much as an actual musical soundtrack.
I also might have named my ootd after “a theatrical risk”
Okayyyyy but why was I just thinking earlier today, "I wonder if the class of 2022 is gonna have a video this year" only to see this was posted???? Also why does this SERIOUSLY have me reconsidering going back to school when I JUST graduated from grad school in May in a pretty unrelated field??? 😭😭❤❤
the hairspray part made me cry so much cause I'm in ninth grade in highschool in Costa Rica and going to umich is literally my dream lol. I've been saying I wanna go there for over a year now and I think about it everyday 😭😭😭 senior entrances always make me cry cause I see people living and experiencing what I wish to
when was the hairsprAY psrt
