I'm pretty sure the roomba communicates with the base. Also i think why the Roomba couldn't find it's way home is because the clean base was designed for the new ones with cameras so the clean base doesn't output the rf and infared signals fir the older ones because the new ines use the camera to go home
it can empty and charge, but it can't find it's way to the base i'm pretty sure. since the J series uses cameras to find the QR code on its base, while the i series and every other iRobot uses some signal thing
ive wondered this for so long but i dont have a roomba e series so oh well
i love how this has been a question for the past 5 years
That’s smth I wondered too
try swiching the bins like put the i3+ bin on the e6
It's not about bins but sensors and/or software.

i3 has not camera, it uses optical sensor at the bottom and it has bumper ir sensor on top just as the e6
No it’s because there’s no small window like the regular chargers
J7 can use i series empty charger?
good question

@enzibear7785 what tablet do you use😊
Probably just hit the home button when you was on the dock
But the purpose of the vid was to show it won't dock itself.
