This was a totally new idea for me (and I had no plan going into it and just did it live), let me know what you think. Also sorry the video is darker than usual, I think I messed something up with the capture of the video. Also I realise I never explained what "No Major Glitches" is but I'd hope that people watching this either don't know about the glitches anyway OR already know this is No Major Glitches.
Amazing! Thank you!
love it, as I'm only on youtube. really good vid here
Audio levels seem good Josh. I think you've hit on a winner here, the thing I love best about speedruns as an audience member is getting the explanations of all the tech and neat little tricks that most people never know about the games they play.
I enjoy this type of videos quite a bit personally (entertaining and interesting), so I'm glad you've made this!
Fuck 100%+, thats the shit!
Josh dating advice: When you take your girl out, open the car door for her. You might think it’s being a gentleman but it actually saves time!
😂😂😂
😂
If your girlfriend drives, leave the door open so you can instantly kill to save time!
Destroy her car once, to skip your girlfriend cutscene
Push her to the car. It saves about 4.5 minutes
"because I killed that drug dealer earlier I can now buy a slightly sexier haircut" What a bizarre sentence lol
I laughed way too long on this one, good shit @Arcklez

this comment fucking killed me lol

2:42:37 Explanation of wanted level mechanics. Really interesting stuff!
spoiler: it uses a CHOAS METER mechanic
That numerical value he mentions is something that Saints Row 2 solves by actually showing you your heat between stars.
@@TheSearchForTruth88 I think there's a cheat in Vice City that displays the numerical value too.
It's the same formula since the 2d era

Poor Sweet.
Explains why Sweet is such a prick.

Sweet is a busta
I apologize for having only watched for a minute, but already I'm loving this post commentary, mainly because over the past few runs, ive noticed new strats that you never have the time to explain on stream, and here you are explaining it all thoroughly, even
pausing the run and marking stuff with a pen!
I really like the way you explain things, so I appreciate that you took the time to make a vid with this format!
Vintage Josh commentary, nice
As close to true 100%+ as we will get this decade boys, enjoy!:)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
was just about to leave a comment about that
I've started following Josh when he already stopped true 100% series, and watched it after, but im already tired of this kind of comments
@@darkstudio3875 Well then you had a shorter period of time to wait for the next episode came out. Many of us have been waiting for a single episode to release for over 2 years.
@@darkstudio3875 you obviously dont get the sarcasm/irony in my comment. as you said, you havent been around for too long, so you dont get it, kid
Took me 2 days to finish the video but I did. Really interesting stuff here. And I will be watching part 2.
Ha! Just watched this after doing a rerun of the "Big Teef Godzilla Saga". Didn't know you watched Joshimuz Gopsy...
@@deputydanger8594 been watching him on UA-cam for years now. Always see him on the GTAMarathon too. Josh is a cool dude.
@@Gypsyx Yeah been watching him for years as well, More often now after R* killed the tiny morsel of respect i had left for them with that E&E trailer, Just wish i could go back to the 3D trilogy times when i thought they could do no wrong....

That josh "Hello" is so nostalgic tbh.
Yeah i felt that!

Awesome, good luck!
"dead people can't open doors"
The fact he didnt ackowledge that he blew up Ryder's car was hilarious, I'm sure he meant it
"nothing interesting happened" he said
@@denden184 love that so much
For future reference, the video player ‘mpv’ might suit this kind of use better. It handles skipping around without messing up the video much more reliably, has keyboard shortcuts for adjusting playback speed ([ and ]), it can skip frame by frame using ‘.’ and ‘,’, and the HUD can be completely hidden. Thanks for a detailed video and great commentary.
Yeah I didn't really do any prep work for this at all, I'll look into it, thanks!
media player classic?
I don’t believe UA-cam supports mpv.
@@tylerdoestech4299 doesnt have to, it looks like Josh was doing a screen recording of a full screened VLC recording of his run.
4x3 video, that "Hello" at the start... The feelings man...
@2:58:05 After all these years, Josh still calls the Elegy a Jester.
Jester looks more like a Supra mixed with 300ZX, Elegy looks more like a Skyline.
This is great! Thank you Josh, had no idea about new strats!
By the way, for anyone who doesn't know about why Rider's car was blown up while Joshimuz was explaining the F2 thing, it was to skip the cutscene after the barber. Right after talking about your new hairstyle, Rider will start shittalking the Pizza parlor. If you are doing the mission for the first time, that cutscene is unskippable, so speedrunners will blow up the car to fail the mission right away, and then just skip the cutscene after the barber.
Ryder. It is Ryder, lol
hours of san andreas speedrunning content with a josh thats full on in commentary mode, fuck yes :)
Thank you so much for posting this, Josh!
I always enjoy your speedrun commentary alot!
Man! this is REALLY fascinating, it's like a developer explaining all the intricates and limitations of the game
I love how the
Great job! I enjoyed every minute of this three hour long commentary and looking forward for the next ones ;)
super interesting to see everything that goes into the run, thanks for taking the time to make this!
Really love your commentary on this category: which doesn’t involve the weird setups and “overlapping double mission” tricks. Those are too deliberate and made my head hurts. Just straightforward faster solutions for each level. Thanks man!
Superb commentary, I don't usually watch videos this long but the way you explained things was very entertaining and time just flew away, I've learned a lot of stuff and trivia I didn't know about the game, the best part is you get to witness how much stuff you speedrunners do on the background just to keep it going.
I'm so glad this was recommended to me. The random drawings and giggling are making me smile a lot. Subbed
UA-cam: Joshimuz has uploaded another speed run of GTA:SA!
Me: Ah shit, here we go again.
This bring memories from true 100% :(
Post commentary is my favourite content! Thank you!
I like this style of video, and would love to see the same format for your other games that you speedrun when you hit a new pb. I stopped watching your live stuff because of lack of time, and also the chat and people seemed to constantly aggravate and distract you. With no external distractions, this is a nice lovely Josh in his own mindscape. I enjoy learning all the new speedrun strats like killing a cop and shooting the driver at the beginning which is new to me. Good stuff Josh.
It was funny when Josh complained about not filling his water bottle before he started - I think he forgot that he wasn't doing a live run and he could just get up and walk away any time he wanted lol
Yo interesting note about your cop bike not being stored: Someone (I think Petrus and Thriving collaboratively maybe????) found that if you get the cop bike in big smoke before the "keep up mf" cutscene, that bike disappears when you load a save. Also the engine keeps running on it when you get off of it as you can see 5:25 which is part of that whole thing. I guess maybe the vehicle somehow gets assigned a special attribute or something? Really weird considering rockstar probably intended for you to stay on that bicycle the entire time so it's strange to think they would oppose you keeping that.
I like this format. Hopefully more to come!
This was really interesting to learn about some of the stuff you normally wouldn't/couldn't explain during a marathon run setting.
Thank you Josh! All theese minor tiny details are very interesting to learn!
I really like Joshimuz and Tomatoanus' Speedrun Explained videos, this is like the two having a baby and uploading said baby to UA-cam.
Thank you Josh for this masterpiece. I knew everything from watching all of your Twitch VODs but I enjoyed you explaining them in detail anyway.
This is really interesting, loving the commentary and the minor stuff! please do more Josh
Love the post commentary! Will enjoy it today while curing my hangover
Fantastic and very insightful commentary Josh!!
This is a really great way to explain the strats behind the speedrun. You really went beyond, not just with the pausing and rewinding but even drawing on the whiteboard. This will be a valuable archive in the coming years when this version of San Andreas is harder to get.
This is awesome!!! All strats explained in detail by the OG himself! Thank you! :)
I like the no prep live commentary, you have a style of explaining things in very fine detail naturally which i feel may get cut short if it were scripted.
getting my popcorn
Don't forget a notebook too

1:32:00 the "coolest strat" I think is the one that involves driving up the staircase on the right of the train (a few seconds before where he drives on top of the train), going airborne and landing perfectly on the train top.
yeah that's what i thought, it's really hard to actually pull off though, i've only managed it a few times
"The flames are for speed and the nitrous is for fun."
Read the description? Are you mental??
Love this format by the way Josh, would love to see more!
Great concept Josh, Would love to see more !
really nice work josh, watched it all and waiting for part 2, thanks
Josh, it is a really cool idea, was very entertaining to watch!
2:58:05 AN ELEGY not a jester 😆 this KILLED me i was so prou d you knew all the cars by name ALMOST haha
I love how you have so much fun sharing your knowledge about the game, its so nice to watch even though I wont speed run it. I guess it gives some perspective of the amount of stuff you need to know and remember to do it.
Great video, really enjoyed it. Can’t wait to watch Parts 2 and 3.
Great video, i love these videos with detailed explainations off strategys etc.
This is real nice, thank you for doing this. It'll be awesome for those of us who want to get into some speedruns.
I died so many times as a kid doing Sweet's Girl, now I understand why. Great run! Loved the commentary
Wow can’t wait for part 2 since Josh explain everything that i dont even know while watching his speedrun, i thought the smallest detail thing was just for fun but actually a minor glitch and speedrun strats
joshimuz is ok at speedrun
Correct
i've always loved your GDQ commentaries Josh and this post game style of commentary is really similar so it's super awesome. great for newbies and beginners and for those who just like to understand why you do certain things in a run
also "open doors can't be locked" is my new catchphrase
One of the best videos ive seen! So intressting so professional
When is true 100% coming out??
Oh my god commentary stile josh .
I love it so much .
It breaks my heart because it reminds me of true 100%+
This is amazing thank you for such detailed video absolute masterclass
This is really cool and an easy watch. Glad you are continuing to play the game! Will try to get into a stream live soon :)
Josh thank you very much for all the time you spent on that Video , it was always a riddle to me how you managed all those little details but know im wise ... Big Thanks again Josh :)
True 100%+ vibes with this footage commentary
I love watching this. Your commentary is great
I got into speedrunning this game after years of watching your runs and after a month of practicing I finally finished a run! These videos were a huge help while learning the run so thanks a lot! If you ever repeat this format for Any% noAJS I'm definitely tuning in :)
I absolutely loved this and am always amazed by how people even found and discovered all these strats and little exploits and stuff 😄
This stream was the first time I watched you live!
So what I like about watching this is, this is way better done on the fly than scripted, especially with your personality. I love the little quips, quirks and laughs throughout. (they say to keep an audiences attention you need to add humor). Also, you mentioned a hesitancy to get into finer details, and we both mean FINER details. That's what us speedrunner's appreciate, are those finer details that actually matter. Not only towards the run, but general understanding of how a game works/its mechanics. I look forward to Part 2 because you're funny, you're detailed, and you're having fun doing it!
This has True 100% vibes right here. I think I'll go watch the entire series again

I wish I could respawn traffic by banging my head against the steering wheel sometimes.
I've enjoyed this game for as many years as its been out. and its my first time hearing the explanation behind the wanted system. Very cool.
This man can explain everything and still make it funny
This is awesome, looking forward to part 2
This is the first time I'm understanding how replays work in this game for speedruns. This is a full fledged tutorial and I love it
I love this, thanks Joshimuz
Really like the small details you find and as someone who studied game development, it makes it even more interesting what went through the minds of GTA devs
Thankyou for this mist have took ages of work to get the time then sit for 3 hours plus explaining straps so noob like me can understand. This is awesome
josh intentionally pronouncing "oh gee loc" as "og lock" is my favorite gta meme
This was brilliant, I had no idea how many small details this run has
thanks Josh great vid and commentary
This is really nice, i loved watching it
Yo I completly forgot that you existed. Havent seen anything of yours for years in my recommended. Love this format!
alt title: Josh having fun with marker tool for 5 hours
We loved it Josh thank you
Awesome video and good rundown of speedrun stats!
I kinda fell asleep at my chair when you explained the chaos meter stuff three times in a row though :D
*Thanks Mr. Joshimuz!*
I've learned so much about how SA and probably other games work from speedrunners doing glitches
I still remember watching you set the WR and specualting about how quick it would before someone got sub 6. Now you’re smashing sub 5. Awesome work.
This is so interesting. I thought i knew a lot about SA like some glitches and stuff but i did not know how and why the game works the way it does and this video has thought me a lot. You should do more of videos like this.
Well this is more complex than what I thought. Love ur vids josh
Fanks for the awesome video Josh
These types of videos are very educational and interesting. You should do more of these! and congrats on the new PB Josh! Any% soon ? you're still on top 10
Great video. The way you say OG Loc’s name had me cryinggggg 😂😂😂🤣
really enjoyed this!
I love these short rambles and squiggly drawings xD
Thanks for this video! I like to replay the story of SA every once in a while, and it's fun to try and apply speedrunning strats even as a casual player, so I find videos like this very interesting.
And I finally found out why you always shoot the fence after shooting at the dealer in Cleaning up the hood
