Sengottai to Punalur converted BG line

- The special train for 2 months between Tambaram and Quilon via Sengottai and Punalur, from the newly converted MG to BG in the Western Ghats. The special train had 14 coaches and the banker is attached from Sengottai and Quilon. Enjoy the scenic video including 13 arch bridge and tunnels. Most of the scenic things have been recorded.Pleae don't forget to include your valuable comments. This train goes via Vilupuram, Trichy, Madurai, Virudunagar, Tenkasi, Shengotta and Punalur. From Sengotta to Edaman its scenic. The first is the longest tunnel in this route which separates Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The MG conversion to BG took nearly 10 years. Public are awaiting new trains on this line.

What is the differance between BG line & MG line.? How can i identify that lines.? What is the speed of in this route.?
BG and MG basically distance between the tracks. Meter Gauge means track having one meter (100cm) width whereas Broad Gauge is Broader than Meter Gauge. The width of the BG Track is 1.435 meter. Because of the more width BG tracks, the trains running fast and taking more load.

Many people are taking better than me. The main thing is taking a video without shaking, which requires a lot of practice. What I suggest is, you should go now during monsoon and take a video, it will be really nice. Both journey of mg and bg I have watched on same track but I like sound of Ydm4 which is very different and lovely

Now they changed from MG to BG, since they want to replace all MG to BG. Uni Gauge policy

Thanks for the coverage.I travelled on the very first day and returned back by the same train as it was a special. During monsoon this route esp. Kollam Sengottai will be beautiful.
I also did the same thing. Returned by the same train. Unfortunately I could not visit Ashtamudi lake near Quilon due to time constraints for the returning train. Thanks for watching.

Beautiful sight seen its ok but too much time.bus travel from senkottai to Kollam just 2.50hr.train is 8 hours.very boring
