To think that I had never even heard of this beautiful fish family before now. Great video! I was wondering why they weren't more popular given their similarities to certain loach species, then I saw they don't play well with plants, which is quite a tragedy.
Loved Anostomus anostomus since the 70's. Leporinus fasciatus have been great fish..red cheeks, about 8" long years ago. They are about the only two you can find and A.anostomus isnt see much these days. I do remember the spotted Leporinus being available..but not for years now. Fish more than worthy of a monster tank and strong pumps to match.
Wonderful video! I really enjoyed the chance to view such high quality live footage of animals that I usually only see preserved in museum collections. Thanks for posting this. -- Brian Sidlauskas
Hadn't heard of a freshwater parasite eater before, what a beautiful range of fish and the upper lip one that grazes on bark / biofilm/emerging insects or insects coming for a drink, brilliant stuff you do, thank you I'd previously commented on whiptail catfish consuming each other's biofilm and I was reminded of discus fish babies eating off mama, do they eat off Papa too? Until I get clarity I'll say parents

awesome video!
I want to keep a tank like that now!
wow, these fish are beautiful mate
Nice to see similarties of South East Asian tropical fish to southern american
Hi are there any anistomids for planted tanks?
they all love plants... maybe fish that are microinvertebrate feeders like Synaptolaemus would leave plants alone.
