Good to see life is gradually returning to normal. Thanks for visiting this old lady. She is strong and kind-hearted (she has so many cats!)

Thank you for this report. Mariupol certainly suffered, it may even be worse in places like Bakhmut. It will take several years of work to get this all back together.
I hope her poems are preserved and published. Maybe someday, when everybody knows what war is like, it will end.

Note he said only by the airport... And no doubt the Russian bosses from Moscow live there. You don't think that they would live among the ruins where the thousands they killed lie under rubble do you.
Good to see that some things are getting back to normal, though they still have a very long way to go. Impressed that they have working hospitals in Mariupol, but there's clearly still a LOT of work needed to clear the rubble and repair the buildings.
I wish they can get a dialogue going and stop this awful war. No matter who is right or wrong, it's the civilian population that suffers.
Humanity's greatest inventions are not our weapons. It's our ability to speak and communicate. Let's solve our differences without violence in the future. It may be naive, but I will always hope for this.

"but when we go into the city we can see the scars have not been healed" yeah they haven't, just not yet, reconstructing a city takes a lot of time, take for example Berlin, it took Berlin a whopping 8 years to be reconstructed because of its sheer size and even after that it still has visible damage to this day such as the bundestag bullet holes, or the cities in former occupied nations which also took years to fully reconstruct, Rotterdam which got flattened by bombing took around 20 years to be fully rebuilt, 5 of those years during occupation, Russia has only has done only 1 year of rebuilding in the city now, and knowing that its actually really surprising how much they have built in that time, over here in the west it often takes a full year to just make 4 apartment buildings with over 14 floors
It will take some time to get rebuild completely but it very very good

Visit Europe in particular England there are to this day gaps in buildings from WW2.
Many people lived in pre fabricated houses right up to the eighties after WW2 many usually around public parks .
Thousands of such buildings could be seen in the east end of London.
Or closer to home visit Berlin lots of reconstruction however still huge gaps in parts of the city from WW2 .
I think it`s time , after 6 months would be nice you go again and see results now.

Obviously there is a lot of damage. Repair doesn't happen overnight. It's actually amazing how much new construction has already been accomplished. Life hopefully will be better under Russian control than under the corruption of the Ukrainian oligarchs.

The Theater isn’t levelled it got hit with 1 missile and currently the roof is being repaired

It wasn't free after the Maidan Coup of 2014. My wife's cousins; who lived there through the first 5 weeks of that battle, told us 9 years ago that AZOV ruled over the city.
Mariupol will be back in Ukrainian hands soon enough.
