Sadly missed and the world is a darker place in his absence.
Today’s situ with COVID...we can do with characters like Fred. The older generation has experience that’s needed...turning 61 in April myself I’m one of those with experience of the older generation. WiFi etc is great......but, too much is dependant on today’s generation. Phones? Progress !? Rip Fred. Much missed man/ character !!! 👏👍🙋🏻♂️🏴
A woman with a master plan!
I, like nearly everybody else, only new Fred through the telly. What I saw I liked and I learned a lot of practical stuff. I also think he had things to say about life that were worth listening to. The rest of it is none of our business.
I am most impressed with the sophistication of your comment, which is in the simplicity. As the great 13th century scholar, Rumi, saud, ‘The art of knowing, is knowing what to ignore.’
If I wore a hat I would take it off to Fred. And thanks for the memories to dovecott for posting
"What ye do is ye climb real 'igh on a ladder, an' that's all. Ye just climb real 'igh in the uhrr, ain't nowt else to do. If that don't get their knickers on the floor, nowt will."
Fred was a stud
I actually met Fred & Sheilah at a steam rally, and she had the same sort of humour as Fred, and could swear like a docker...
It’s sad that this too ended with divorce. But, the silver lining was that Sue gave him his two boys that grew up to love steam as much as him. His boys actually drove his steam tractor during his funeral that pulled his casket. It’s a shame that he didn’t have much contact with his first 3 children for a long time.
fred was a rockstar; ladies loved him!
Love Fred since I was a kid in the 80s. He came up were I live now to down a chimney at BICC Cables. I think it was 86. There is no plaque or nothing on the spot in the retail park to say he was here. Just a bloody Pets at Home place were the chimney stood.
love to watch Fred
He is quite a lovable character ..cute couple 💑
He smashed her chimney in, she couldn’t take it
He loved 💪💙
Now what the hell would she EVER have seen in someone like Fred, if it wasn't for his fame?????
Rip fred
Fred was a strong man.
I bet she had to wear a crash helmet because she kept going through the headboard 😂
Not many "Real" workshops left like that in the UK anymore, you could probably count them on the fingers of one hand.Mine unfortunately is on a much smaller scale but if I ever get the chance to bigger machines i'd be away!
Fred may have been the best steeplejack on the planet, but he didn't understand women, but then again, does anyone?
what programme is this from anyone??????
Welcome to my world Fred lol
All of Fred's wife's said it's either me or your engines and fred said goodbye. Is this the last wife that was in Fred's life. RIP old friend.
She smelt gold and went for it.
he got his moneys worth.
Good old Fred knows that showing off his steam engines will get him a ride.
! What did Fred not learn from the first time.!
Hello
Fred liked the young ladies eyee
He knobbed her, that's what counts 😂
@Fenrir Moon he wrote his wife Sheila out. Sue was his 2nd wife and they were divorced in 1998.
And then she ran off with someone else and took his sons away from him!
@msec Sec I think you're both right AND wrong. I agree that the second and third wives knew the man, his values and habits so entered a relationship with open eyes. With Alison, his first wife, I think a man needs to be a man and a woman needs to be a woman/ His work ethic would mean he'd be a good provider, his Victorian morals mean he would be a faithful husband and stern with the kids. A lot of women get a lot less from marriage these days.
@msec Ses yes, an old fashioned man with old fashioned values.
Very hard working and very focused, but sadly at the expense of his family time.
Victorian women might have put up with this forever, but how can modern woman in the modern world watch all her friends live a different life and not want for it?
As Fred himself once said, he wanted simple things from marriage and his wife wanted to go out and see friends and do things.
A great man, no doubt faithful to his wife and family, but living for himself.
Subsequent wives had seen what the man was about and had an idea what they were getting involved with, however outside impressions and the reality of it are often different.
Celebrity Vs reality, a problem that will never go away. In Fred's case, the celebrity status was not his doing, and not his desire, but it created a character for him that he self stated had to "play up to".
@@underwaterdick wife 2 and 3 were chasing him because he had a big profile for that time just imagine if social media had been around. We don’t know what went on behind closed doors but no woman has the right to take away a mans kids, money and possessions they never worked a day for. Fred was a true grafter and it’s a shame how his family all ended up fighting over the little slice of happiness he created for himself.
Sue set fire to Fred's chimney and brought him down. Do ya like that!!
Good to see Fred channelling his inner Freddie Mercury with the moustache ....
Lol👍😂
That lad who runs up and says well done annoys the hell out of me and I don't know why
Propping the Bar up & Steam Engines sounds ok to me !!
Better than a ruddy Woman.... Anyway !!!!
Was this the 'roast of Fred' 🤔 😅
Never guess she was a social worker would you 🙄
Prefer the wife he had before
That look after he collapsed the chimney. He's a kid in a candy-store. He flirts with disaster as though they were lovers. Anyone can see what his true love is. Alas a chimney is only a chimney.
Yes he was happy probably because he and others were still alive and not buried in bricks, see the chimney fell on the side they were standing not where Fred planed for it to fall , but he got lucky and noone got hurt .
Chad
I always fancied his first wife Allison, I wonder what's she's doing now?
@saintmirrenmalky I KNOW THIS COMMENT IS 2 YEARS OLD BUT I AM IN STICHES HAHA
Fred and I divorced and Fred soon married again and perhaps now I am 83 years of age I will marry again providing we clove each other in truth.
Fred kept his hands in his pockets a lot of the time, Problaly keeping his Crown Jewels nice and toasty :-) She soon had him sussed.
Pretty woman, how is she? *
Fred liked a women with short hair
Wouldn’t trust her,no way,we all know what she was after, poor old Fred didn’t cotton on with that till she robbed him, dang you are great at what you did,but she fleeced you mate, rip sir, what goes around comes straight back around, who is she robbing these days,
m
He was covered in soot and she rinsed him !
She was only after Fred for his money ! RIP Fred
+newdawnnation In his will is not in his benefit :-(
To bad he is gone because he was a great bloke.
No, she didn't take ANYTHING when they split. Bad that she did go off with another bloke though, poor Fred. I did like her though.
Fred said she told him " I don't want your house or your money" but he said "she took my boys and I can never forgive her for that"
She moved to the Isle of Man and is now Sue Ogden.
The Merry Widow is Sheila Dibnah nee Grundy . The old hag with rapunzel hair which looks ridiculous on a woman with her face and at her age. She's the bitch who contested Fred's will .
@60103Henry It was basically that she got fed up with Fred and his steam engines and the way he was. His Victorian way with women certainly was a main cause of both his divorces
Steam groupie??
Glad Fred got rid she was only with him for the money and fame bet u she worked on the meat counter at Asda before meeting Fred
Personally I think she saw him as a project - something to change and get a living off at the same time. She wasn't a patch on Alison and then she took his little lad so far away he lost contact - sickening treatment of a vulnerable guy.
Terrible sound. Can't hear a word he is saying!
He hadn't a bit of a clue how to entice a lass per say....
He’s a bit simple Fred? He’s great
Been better off on his own...
God knows what they saw in him. Like marrying your grandfather
He had that classic mid 60s old man look when he was 40.
I noticed how his Sons are desperately trying to be their old man, the only thing they have in common with him is premature aging
Gold digger Sue. Wow they even existed back then
Only Fred Dibnah would count a chimney demolition as a date. Can't believe he passed away four years ago. His many fans miss him.
OMG, it's been 15 years already 😳😭
He died 16 years ago you idiot. Not 4
