It's even easier to hold right click when petting animals, no dialog boxes pop up and truffles are still collected. Same goes for using kegs, etc. No need to mouse over them, put the mouse at the side of the screen and it auto collects and fills the keg your character is facing.

@@petermiller4953 that's true as well, good point! I just usually have other foods for energy, life elixir, purple mushrooms, magma caps, spicy eel or pumpkin soup for luck etc. Just wanted people to know they don't have to cook or buy ginger ale to debuff if they already have lots of ginger

You also won’t lose any speed buff you’ve added if you are combining triple espresso with a food buff- of course if you are already using ginger ale for luck then it’s up to you if you want to tank your supply or just top up with ginger and then eat a mushroom/your non buffing food of choice.

Yeah but I think she’s saying that in terms of money you’re saving money by using quality sprinklers and it also depends how much you care about using iridium compared too iron to make your sprinklers

I think it's not directly about how much area each sprinkler covers or the number of sprinklers that have to be used, but how many crops you still get to plant if you're using sprinklers.
Imagine a 15x15 area, to use the least common multiple of 3 and 5 so the coverage comes out even. Also imagine that beyond this 15x15 area are more crops or walls or something so you're placing the sprinklers in it and not on the edge. You could water all the tiles in this with either 25 Quality Sprinklers or 9 Iridium Sprinklers. This leaves either 200 or 216 of the 225 tiles available depending on whether you used Quality or Iridium sprinklers. I'm actually not sure where the number 7% came from though. Seems like it should've been 8%. I dunno, maybe I mis-mathed something. Or perhaps the 7% came from a specific layout that isn't 15x15 and is somehow slightly less efficient for Iridium Sprinklers than this imaginary scenario?
Basically, Quality Sprinklers already don't waste much space compared to how many crops you can plant, so being much more efficient than them is difficult. If you measure efficiency like this, some sort of flying sprinkler that takes no tiles at all and has infinite range would still only be 12.5% better.

I'm dubious that giving crops an extra growth day instead of harvesting right away in the hopes of getting giant crops is a net win on profitability.
And every time I play this game I intend to stock up on wood and stone in year one, and every time I forget until suddenly on about Spring 4 I'm like, "f***!"

You can just walk around holding the action button and walking passed each animal. It will only pet them and not open the interface. Same way you'd pick and plant seeds.
