This really hits different when you don’t have a father.
Or when you have one who never expressed any healthy emotional substance to you except anger and regret lol
Me 😭😭😭😭

We Hispanics tend to be so open with our feelings, and have such a strong desire to connect with those we love through touch--it must be tough to learn a new way of expressing yourself without something so instinctual

Why can’t they communicate directly ? The Mexican grandma and granpa
Wow I was not expecting to see Vancouver mentioned here!
I wonder if the wife would be able to say that if she had married a Korean man, since this show has mostly portrayed Korean men to be authoritative in their marriage or is that the reason she married out of her race?
Latinx women are also portrayed in media as more combative compared to Asian women who are more submissive, so is that the reason he married out of race?
@@Cxs1a3 yeah, the question was a dumb one. There’s always good and bad people in all races, this show is just dedicated to showing foreigners in Korea.
@@organizedchaos4559 I guess in some sense you are right, there's all types of people in one country but there are some factors in society values that encourage people to act a similar way.
A lot of the Korean men in the show does show an authoritative behavior which can go back to their hierarchy society but there are those that breaks out of that such as the husband of the Canadian woman with diabetes who was an absolute sweetheart.
As for Latinx it depends on who you are referring to, Latin American who lives in the U.S. or Latin American woman who lives in one of the 33 countries. In the 33 countries Christianity is very rooted in their culture which encourages women to be very submissive. If the woman lives in the U.S. than Christianity may be rooted in the family culture but the U.S. is a salad bar which you could find all types of woman.
In the show he mentioned Machismo and raising his son with these values but he doesn't really live like that because Machismo men prefers submissive woman. So I'll say your right, he is not the standard of Latino men and every country has different types of people.
I hope the show could continue to find families with different values because it's a little discouraging to see the same patterns of authoritative family men.
Christian societies are the most gender equal societies, so women are encouraged to not be submissive.
Anyway, Christian is a religion, not the same as culture, even though there is overlap. And he was a Canadian resident, because Mexicans can't apply to be a cop in Vancouver, so the American stereotypes are more relevant in this situation because American society is more similiar to Canada than Latin American.
It's well known by men in North America, the stereotype that black and latin women are loud, while Asian women are submissive. Many men in the West who can't get along with their own women, find an Asian bride because it's the easier option.
@@Cxs1a3 I'm glad you were able to find an equal gender Christian community. I lived in the DR, one of the Latin American countries for 11 years and was not able to experience the same.
I would argue that every community has a culture. Anywhere there is a set of values has a culture.
As in Latin American Latinas in the United States I would agree with @Organized Chaos there are too many people that has too many different values that I wouldn't be able to generalized based on personal experience. It's one of the most diverse countries in the world, a salad bowl of people. As for Canada, I've never been there so I wouldn't be able to give an opinion.
I need to add that at least in my opinion, not all Asian American are submissive women in the U.S. I've met some strong Asian American woman in college. Also I've worked with Central American women in the U.S. who are one of the most submissive people in which I've needed to encourage to take charge (my work required them to make decisions). It's just impossible to divide standards in the U.S.
not that guy being escorted home by 8 police officers
i can tell she's pretending to like the food but she Doesn't like it😂🤣 4:55
I don't know why I assumed that he is indian🙂
So the father is nice to and loved by everyone except Aston. He cannot even see what the problem is, and says "I don't want you to be the best, just listen to your teacher." etc. while making a scary face. You can see the child is clearly terrified. My father believed that, too. I grew up resenting him and the people he cherished. Also had serious self-confidence issues and anxiety disorder which make me feel like I'm not enough. No matter what I achieve, I started thinking it didn't matter because it only meant something if it was consistent. But I couldn't make that happen as I was even more nervous at the second try.
