Despite her being 96 years old, I found it immeasurably sad as a Brit. This is one time where I’ve not thought ‘it’s okay, she’s old’, I was genuinely heartbroken that she’d gone. There was no looking on the bright side for me. She’s missed beyond words

I was very sad in my little NW corner of the USA. I watched almost everything - even woke up at 2am to start watching the processional before the funeral at 3am, PST. My friend from Warwickshire messaged me during all of it, so I had "company" to cry with (as my husband was sleeping until the Windsor bit). He had queued for 12 hours to pay his respects, too. He said he made good queue buddies, which I thought was one of the best parts of all of this - the community coming together and supporting/lifting each other up. And oh my goodness, my tears (sobbing) when they showed her pony then her corgis. Yep. Lost it. I'm very happy we were just in London and Windsor this past April so it made seeing all of this on TV feel a bit more real. I'm glad I got to visit the UK twice under Her Majesty's reign. It will be slightly odd to know she's not around the next time we visit. She will be missed.
So glad to know you're back. I'm glad you took some time to grieve your friend and get life sorted.

Regarding "The Mop Men" as you called them, they are the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, and were formed in 1509 by King Henry VIII. The uniform is that of a Dragoon Guards officer of the 1840's and the helmets have very long white swan's feather plumes.

They didn’t transport her body on the train it came down from Scotland in an RAF plane and was then driven into London from RAF Northolt.

Someone has a differing view or opinion on their own channel so let’s play the disrespectful card. How bout just watch another video 🤷🏼

The hearse was driven from Balmoral Castle to Aberdeen airport which was an hour and 15 minutes approximately. The Queens coffin was then put on the RAF plane down to London!

Hearse went from Balmoral to Edinburgh, took about 6 hours on the Sunday, she was moved from Holyrood House(Palace) to St Giles Cathedral for 2 nights before going to Edinburgh Airport flying to RAF Northolt taken to Buckingham palace stayed overnight before going to Westminster Palace to rest in State until the funeral.

@@fasteddie406 Hi Eddie Don’t know why I wrote 1 hour and 15 minutes, I knew it took a lot longer. I actually nearly watched nearly all of it 😁

@@youngthing12 Don't really like to correct someones post but you for some reason were way off, still unsure where Aberdeen Airport came to your mind, it did drive thru Aberdeen city centre. Think most of country watch all or most of that journey.

Personally I thought the funeral day was fine, but the rest was over the top. I think if someone gets to 96, has hardly been ill and has had a lovely life, then we should be celebrating their lives, I don't think as a nation we need to have a week of "mourning".
As for the debate on whether we continue with a royal family, or move to a republic, then now (post funeral) is the time to discuss - (for me - I'd continue as it is - I think a political appointment would be more divisive - but the number of "working royals" needs to heavily reduced to only those ever likely to inherit the crown).
I think a lot of commonwealth countries will follow Barbados' lead now, and choose to sever the King as their Head of State.

The mourning period was 10 days….for a monarch who had the longest reign in our history…is that too much?. Her death gave many people who aren’t mad royalists a jolt…so think of the mourning period as a period of “adjustment & transition”. Personally I think it served its purpose very well…for many of us who suffered personal loss during the pandemic & were therefore unable to give them a “normal” funeral, it was also cathartic.

Interesting vid, I've watched a number of people reacting to the queens death and yours is by far the most disrespectful.

  • @peterhoye8846

Ironic you say, people need to get their facts right..... then state the queen's coffin was brought from Scotland to Westminster by train.....maybe you should practice what you preach

Can you imagine having to hear a man talking for two hours. Well, Stephen Fry or Winston Churchill , ok. However David Beckham? 😱
Then, Mr Interesting lines up next to you for 13 hours. 🥵
