I love this song. The song is intense like Akuma's song, but it's corrupted and sad as well, especially during the parts where Ryu's theme plays. It's almost as if the real Ryu is still fighting for control of his own body, trying to break free of the grip of the Satsui no Hado. That said, the intensity of the bassline and Akuma's theme represent the enjoyment Ryu gets out of this form. At the same time, the climax of the song provides a hope to break through the Satsui no Hado, like the sun breaking through rainclouds. However, Ryu immediately loses himself again, leading to the start of the song again with Akuma's theme taking back over for a bit. Probably a bit corny, but that's how I've always heard this song.
I always felt that the Akuma parts felt as if they represented the Satsui No Hado, they sound aggressive and intimidating which make a HUGE difference to the parts of Ryu's theme, they sound weak as if they were struggling to be part of the song, kinda like if Ryu were trying to fight the Satsui No Hado, this whole song is a complete twisted tragedy, a fighting between 2 different themes and one is winning over the other, perfect for a character like Evil Ryu
Is it me or does the flute make you think about the pain Ryu's inner self is inside every time he turns into Evil Ryu? The constant fight between Good and Evil happening inside Ryu every time he lets the Satsui no Hadou take over. And then when the madolin comes in it sounds almost as though the Satsui no Hadou is creeping up to fully consume Ryu's humanity and prevent Ryu turning back to normal.
It sort of represents his struggle to avoid becoming consumed by the Satsui No Hado and becoming like Akuma because you can hear parts of Akuma's theme in this one. Even though Aluma only fights worthy opponents he could lose control of his power too and start harming innocent people if he doesn't keep it under control.
@@spikereef4260 It was my understanding that this particular iteration of Evil Ryu is actually where ryu was impaled by Akuma, so the Hado resurrected his corporeal form. Ryu is literally dead, and all that is left is a murderous zombie powered by the Hado.
The feeling that we can still hear Ryu's normal theme gives me a feeling that when evil Ryu fights, the normal Ryu is trying to break free in the process
Evil Ryu is more murderous and ruthless then akuma because akuma wants to find a worthy opponent to fight with but Evil Ryu doesn't and just wants to kill any challenger that faces him.
***** Akuma has learned to embrace the Satsui no Hado so as to maintain his humanity. Evil Ryu has succumbed and given into it, tossing aside his humanity for superior power
Mrframeurwatch Problem with that is, in order to learn Satsui No Hadou, you have to completely discard your humanity. I wouldn't say that Akuma has "maintained his humanity" when he gave it up completely for the sake of his training.
Mrframeurwatch Yeah, Evil Ryu is basically Ryu who has let go of his earthly attachments, and given in to his urge to become the strongest on the planet. He's a crazy, bloodthirsty barbarian. Now imagine an Oni version of Evil Ryu, that would be wicked
***** But Akuma has trained with the Satsui No Hado for many years. Evil Ryu, just seems like he gave in to it, hence why he's more ruthless than Akuma. He's certainly more insane than him. At this point, Ryu is just a monster, who would butcher anyone who got in his way (Akuma would spare a weak opponent, so he has morals. Evil Ryu probably wouldn't, as he's symbolic of what would happen if he gave in to the Dark Hado, giving up on his vows about not killing the opponent)
This theme sounds aggresive but at the same a little sad. Because its a combination of Akuma and Ryu's theme, I take the Akuma part as the Satsui no Hado that finally took over Ryu, but the Ryu part I take it as he's not been completely consumed by it yet, and he's fighting as hard as he can to recover the control of his own body.

AquaRyu yes, but from what i know, Gouken found a way to neutralize that murderous intent from the techniques and reach the equilibrium martial arts are supposed to represent (trust me, i know, i learned Shotokan karate for a while). i think Akuma was more of the "purist" kind, and that's what led him down the road he is going today.
I shudder to think of what total psycho corruption would cause ryu to become when combined with the satsui already festering within him. I would say he’d become nigh unstoppable. Gouken, akuma, bison, urien, nobody would be able to stop him. It would be something worse than even akuma becoming shin oni, because even that would be a sole consumption of satsui incarnate. This would be an amalgamation of 2 entirely malicious energies mixing into an unstable force bent entirely on blind destruction with no rime or reason. The berserking nature of psycho, mixed with the rage and emotional instability of satsui. He would start with those who anger him most. Bison to say most of all, then it would progress to his simple rivals, ending ultimately with ken, then it would just boil down to anyone dumb enough to stand against him, and from there just senseless murder of innocents. I love how it’s still Ryu’s theme but it’s so distorted and almost melancholic sounding. Like the man fighting his hardest to overcome his demon succumbs and becomes the very thing he swore to conquer. If he can’t contain his demon, who can stop him?
Pretty awesome. They mixed akuma's theme and ryu's theme as one. You can get a real sense of ryu's internal conflict with the dark hadou through this theme as you can feel a sense of ryu still having some purity while combined with the satsui.
i like the part at 0:33, the melody, pitched like that and in this context, gives off a sense of confusion, like "how did we get here? How did such a pure man get corrupted?"
Evil Ryu is the path of fast power whit no self-control, he is literally just Ryu, but whitout having any principles or morals, Akuma himself controls the Satsui no Hado by having EXTREME discipline, Ryu just lets himself go.

Right? I really don't get why they tried that approach in the first place. Some themes are cool, but some others like Ken's (SFIV) are just outright awful. Akuma's new theme in SFV is just terrible too. Unfitting as hell.
This isn't dubstep, fool. Background wubs don't instantly convert it into dubstep. Compare this to Akuma's abomination of a theme in SFV. They RUINED that shit like they ruined Akuma's hair.
The Akuma theme parts to me represents the Satsui no Hado while the Ryu theme parts represent to me Ryu trying to fight of the dark Hado to regain consciousness again. It's sad to. Like they say, If a man can't contain his inner Demon, who can stop him? This is also kind of me because my mom told me that I was sweetest boy that she knew when I was still little, but here I am 15 years old, having a dark personality, and slowly throwing away my humanity. I'm throwing it away because I saw a cat at school with a nose that was cut off. I didn't see how, but it had no nose. And that made me realise how difficult life is with us primates ruling this planet, bringing destruction, pain and suffering. It wanted me to stroke it by rubbing it's body against my legs and a bunch of kids even my friends were watching me. I didn't even have to guts to stroke the cat to show some love. That is the reason I'm giving up my humanity and losing hope in humanity. And that is the curse of being Human.
This music doesn't make me think "menacing villain". It strikes me more as a tragic, lamenting take on Ryu's theme, with a few brief moments of almost perilous sounding string instruments. It really helps paint that this is sort of the shell that Ryu becomes, and really explores the sadness and danger of him losing himself. I love it.
@MrTatsubei noting but when that song is remix to death ie Ryu SF2 Theme it becomes a problem. Specially when character's has other themes once again ie Ryu Rising Dragoon(SFEX),Good Fighter(SF3),Kubo(SF3TS),and The Road(SFA3).
When I play online, I like switching from Ryu to E. Ryu depending on my mood (Mostly when I get pissed off) I know its silly, but I think you can't really experience all the facets of Ryu without playing both him and his alter ego every so often.
"Is this truly what I seek?" This line and this music summarizes the complexity of Evil Ryu. Don't get me wrong, Street Fighter has never been a modern Shakespeare in its writing, but it does do this ONE thing well. Ryu wants power, but he wants power he can call his own; take pride in knowing that HE tamed it and it is uniquely HIS to have mastered organically. Evil Ryu, the Dark Hadou, is the polar opposite of that. He isn't learning a new method which he is harnessing and honing until it is reflexive and natural, he is CHEATING. He is gaining a violent, external boost to his power at the cost of his self, his control, and even the right to claim it as his own. It's not him, it's just the Dark Hadou; the indulgence in violence rather than a means to an end. And this song captures all that corruption of what once was a man on the path to becoming who he truly was. Reminder, in this Evil Ryu's cannon, his possession is not the fault of his own, but because Oni hit him in the chest with one of his blasts. Ryu was robbed of his agency. He can't even call this his own fault.

Ryu and oni fight gill and they lose akuma try's to follow gill but gill gets away
Fin
It's legendary
"This is it! If i defeat myself! I AM COMPLETE!"
I really like this theme. It's kind of a combination of Ryu and Akuma's theme, which is perfect since that's pretty much what Evil Ryu is.
People be complaining about "dubstep" in SF5 and yet everyone is fine with this theme. Hypocrites.
Right? I really don't get why they tried that approach in the first place. Some themes are cool, but some others like Ken's (SFIV) are just outright awful. Akuma's new theme in SFV is just terrible too. Unfitting as hell.
I really don't like Akuma's theme, Juri, M. Bison, and Guile's SFV theme. Guile my least favorite. Totally butchered it.
Andrew Heard I like this theme and the dubstep themes in SFV.
I just think the dubstep shouldn't go with Akuma. I'm not fond of this theme either.
This isn't dubstep, fool. Background wubs don't instantly convert it into dubstep. Compare this to Akuma's abomination of a theme in SFV. They RUINED that shit like they ruined Akuma's hair.
Now Ryu has allowed not only his body, but his own soul to be corrupted by the Satsui no Hado.
Theme of Sako, those who've watched Capcum Cup 2013 will understand.
Evil Sako
mykhulbee wtf dude
You can be better. Don’t let yourself lose love. For God is love.
@@aprettyfunnyperson4516 Thank you man
"The Hero".............. Thanks, Capcom.
“It’s over Ken,
Now not even you can stop me!”
Quoted by evil Ryu himself
I AM NOW COMPLETE!!!
thx for uploading this! I listen to this every once in a while :3
“You’re no pupil of mine.”
I love it.
my favorite eryu quote is vs elena when you beat her
friends? try finding them in the underworld! lol
@MrTatsubei noting but when that song is remix to death ie Ryu SF2 Theme it becomes a problem. Specially when character's has other themes once again ie Ryu Rising Dragoon(SFEX),Good Fighter(SF3),Kubo(SF3TS),and The Road(SFA3).
certified BANGER
“I HAVE AWOKEN AT LAST!!!”
“Violence…Is who I AM!”
Shenlong you are a monster! Thank you so much for these musics(Alpha 3,SF4)Much appreciated man
MY NAME IS RYU. AND THE ULTIMATE POWER HAS AWAKENED WİTHİN ME!
When I play online, I like switching from Ryu to E. Ryu depending on my mood (Mostly when I get pissed off)
I know its silly, but I think you can't really experience all the facets of Ryu without playing both him and his alter ego every so often.
Evil Ryu:you can hear them can you not the voice of the dead welcome you.
The darker side of Ryu is so fun!
I HAVE AWOKEN AT LAST!!
+Spikereef I... HAVE ACHIEVED GREATNESS!
***** lmao XD
Is this truly what I seek....
wow this game over 12 years old
"Ill show you what is the true meaning of pain!"
yeah ive been loking for this theme
*”VIOLENCE, IS WHO I AM!!!”*
Well done. You, sir, have earned 100 internets with a 200pt bonus for reminding me of the Oro incident.
I thought this Game CAME OUT LAST YEAR IT WAS 4 DAMN YEARS AGO😱
not exactly try 9 years ago, it was first released at arcades in Japan during 2008
+JayBird 2016-2008=8
They just made different versions of it😂😂
"Is this truly what I seek?"
This line and this music summarizes the complexity of Evil Ryu.
He can't even call this his own fault.
it was akuma when he finally went try hard on ryu for the first time.
There is no more worthy a rival for Asura than E.Ryu
All sf4 themes are masterpiece.
Literally
“YOU’RE DEAD”
