Enjoyed this! It's so interesting to see what individual artists choose to create their palettes. I had watched your Daniel Smith swatching, and was so surprised that you didn't choose my favorite green in all the world, Green Apatite Genuine. Its color separations are so interesting, creating texture in its blooms and water marks, and it is such a great mixer. Also, I can't paint without DS Quinacridone Gold, but I still have lots of the original single pigment before they ran out, and it's like sunshine on a page. And lastly, my palette always contains WN Burnt Sienna (has to be WN) and French Ultramarine Blue, which makes a variety of the most wonderful grays (dark to light, warm to cool) when mixed. In one's palette choices is definitely where the old saying, 'To each his own,' comes into play 🙂 Enjoy your wonderful choices!
I've had a couple of people mention Green Apatite Genuine. I'm going to do some painting in my sketchbook to get to know all these new paints better. I could have been that the swatch didn't show what it could do very well. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching :)
What a lovely palette! I'd love to see the greens, the blues, the yellows... Will be possible to show us the pigments of the colors? I think it could be very interesting to compare. Thanks for sharing ♡
Thank you 😊 I can look into getting more pigment information. I’m not sure if Deep Deep Light has that available. It’s also a new subject for me to dive into, so I might need to do a bit of homework before including that in my videos 😅
I love candles! Ive got a yankee candle burning now and always do when i sit at my desk. I feel it helps set a mood.... a tone... a vibe.. lol. I totally get it.. I cant wait to try DDL
@@PerfectlyImperfectColour Ha! Thanks 😊. Always need the candles at the desk. If you’re getting DDL you can get a discount by using code “deepdeepnatasha”. Natasha Newton is an ambassador for them (also you should check out her channel).
The paint I love, but is a weirdo is Copper Blue from A. Gallo. I finally found a use for it. I'm surprised that AG Olive Green Dark is a favorite of yours. I find it unruly.
My “style” relies a lot on a variety of textures. So using a paint that granulates and color shifts is an easy way to do that. If you’re wanting consistency, then paints like olive green deep are a nightmare 😅. Maybe Holbein would be a better choice? I haven’t used my Holbein set in years. I was thinking of swatching them next, but I need to get paintings done for my shop next.

Gold Ochre and Golden Gold Ochre are the same to me eyes😊
It’s the same paint, but one has gold flakes in it. It’s hard to capture on camera. 😉

How did you print the swatch sheet?
I put it through my printer that I use to make art prints. My regular office printer couldn’t handle the paper.

I tend to like the unpredictable paints 😅
@@AuloriasArt I think my mistake was using it in a place where I wanted something predictable. 🤨
