    I think i'd rather buy a solid tube because of the focuser and the durability.
    Rack-and-pinion 2" vs Helical 1.25"
    I kind of want the Virtuoso GTi mount though. GoTo functionality can't be beat.

    The very best thing about this telescope is the weight. Very light. Good for elder, feeble folk. The first Dobsonian I have found that ti not too heavy.

    Do you think it will be possible to either attach a small DLSR to this or perhaps using the dovetail rail to attach a DSLR and use it for some DSLR EAA?

    • @DobsonianPower
      @DobsonianPower  2 місяці тому

      In the focuser it's possible depending on the weight, but risky because if it's too heavy it will bend. However, to piggyback stuff it's possible and i just did it adding a small rig to mine for solar with 2 cameras. It can handle very well.

    So should i buy this as my first telescope? It seems perfect and i has a afordable price, my main goal is to see planets, nebulas, galaxies, stars (i will buy a filter for Sun). Anyways... should i buy it?
    Edit: i live in a small city with no air polution and it is very clear at night and there is a small quantity of light.

    Not sure if this has been said, but an even better combination is the telescope on the manual tabletop dobsonian mount paired with the AZ-GTI. You can nicely fit it on a tripod and it’s a much smaller package travel with. You can also use the AZ-GTI for tracking photography and turn it into EQ mode

    Great video, yesterday I bought the 127 mm Maksutov that Skywatcher sell with this mount. I only did this because I wanted the Mak for portability and in the UK, there is no stock of the OTA on its own. The mount is still in the box but I will for sure use it. Many thanks for your beautiful images.

    I just got informed that mine will be delayed until January! :( But I'm looking forward to receive it to enjoy of the sky also when I don't have much time to take outside the 12" or when the weather is not so good and it isn't worth to put out the 12". Looks like a really nice scope. The only thing I would like it to be better is the focuser, I understand is helical, made of plastic. Apart from that I'm sure is a good and simple scope. Additionally, the GoTo AltAz mount in my opinion is good value as you could also use it with other small telescope. That's another point to its favor.
    Nice video, better luck with the weather next time :)

      @@gavinrobinson6908 i think you'll be fine with the 6mm to go deeper. Maybe an explore scientific in the future is a good upgrade. A 2x barlow with the 20mm will give you a 10mm.
