I use what the font pretty much every day in my job. Like it a bit more than font squirrel. And of course photoshop has a built in font detector that I usually start with.
That's what I was going to say. Also recently WhatFontIs has been better than WhatTheFont at immediate detection. Best rule is to clean up the font in Photoshop before submitting.
It helps when you type the words into the Font list so it displays the Fonts in the Words you're trying to match. Easier to determine which is the exact or closest match.
Thanks for the information about matching fonts. It is quite useful if you are creating stylised and old graphic retro images as well as saving you time scouring for a match! You have two great channels which solve a lot of peoples problems with graphics and provide excellent solutions.
Thank you alot for sharing this video! Ima be looking forward to using that website in the near future, so it can help me find the accurate fonts that'll be good enough to use! Great information!
I’m not a graphic designer, but I’ve been desperate to find a resource or ways to date or learn about vintage fonts I’ve been getting an accidental immersive education for the past 20 years of wearing loving collecting and reselling vintage items so I do have a good intuitive sense of dating clothing and accessories based on the manufacturing labels and their fonts I am intuitively noticing patterns, stylized shapes and graphic design elements from certain time periods to authenticate vintage items, but this is only from my own immersive education, I would love more of an education on what graphic design fonts were popular in what decades not just relying on my experience and intuition. I date garments based on not only the tags and the fonts on the labels , but also the zippers buttons, trim, fabric, sewing details. I smell and quality of the fabrication as well as the actual aesthetic of the garment. And knowing more about the fonts and which ones were used in which decades would help me immensely is there any other resources you could recommend where I could learn more in depth? I definitely am going to use the sites suggested because I think they could point me in the right direction where I could do some research if I could identify the font of a label and know its origin, and when it was popular that could also authenticate pieces, and narrow down their date of production
As a Graphic Designer I come up against this problem regular. I've tried so many Font Matchers and they have failed from the get go, only matching the regular fonts!
I already knew this one, I used it to try and find a font from an old book (I obviously didn't find it). There's a method to look for fonts within photoshop as well (limited to those already installed on your pc).
Oof. That Font Squirrel matcher just seems to be throwing in random fonts that are nothing like the original. It would probably help to clean up the image first, but still... I find much better results from What The Font / What Font Is. I also use Identifont and the 'fonts by appearance' function.
Thanks. I'll keep playing with it. Can't seem to find a good match from my logo font. Will look at font video next. Did not see the video link but will search the videos. 👍🤙💪
thank you for the video. One thing I wish google still had was the image finder. I could upload an image and it would show me other copies of the image. I used it a lot when I wanted to find out what the location was of a beautiful scenic photo. Do you know of any sites that have that option?
Thanks for this! Funny how "Babes in Arms" didn't return matches using the same letters. Perhaps using smaller clips, like just "Babes" would return matches that spell out the sample ("Babes").
Did I miss where you actually found either font? When font identifiers don’t recognize the letters of your text, how are you expecting decent results. Just because a font has a similar feel, it doesn’t mean that the each of the letters will even be remotely similar to what you are seeking. This video is poorly named and over appreciated. Too harsh? The harsh reality is that there are way better resources than font squirrel. With that being said, there are even ways to make font squirrel perform better.
Also take a look at "What The Font", and "What Font Is". Both are great tools!

i used it both too

Yet another amazing video 👍 you just keep giving, don’t stop lol 🤗❤️
Great info. Thanks for sharing this along with resources to use!
Nice resource. Thanks for sharing.
We used to use Font Squirrel a lot in college when doing graphic design - it's good practice to know a few generic fonts to use though
I immediately thought futura when seeing the second font, the 'G' is different though
Thank you alot for sharing this video! Ima be looking forward to using that website in the near future, so it can help me find the accurate fonts that'll be good enough to use! Great information!
Well that's handy. Gonna try it next time I need a specific font

I never knew there were more sites than What the Font for this, Font Squirrel looks a little better
Weird I am seeing feedback saying that What The Font is better - I guess it is good to see that there are options, hopefully one of the two will work!
It’s not better…
There is a program called Find my Font, its the only one really worth using professionally.
I'll have to check it out, thank you for the tip!
Very helpful!!! Thank you.

Okay thanks both 3 of my channels has their own fonts
GARLAND sure looks like Franklin Gothic Extra Condensed (Bold).
Than you so much for sharing information.

I appreciate that! I think I am going to test each of these out and see what each of the strengths are, thanks for the tips!
How to crop the image after highlighting the selected part which you want to keep. there is no right click option and there is no save button.
this is very useful..i always wanted to know how people make memes with the exact font. lol
Thanks. I'll keep playing with it. Can't seem to find a good match from my logo font. Will look at font video next. Did not see the video link but will search the videos. 👍🤙💪
Thx for uploading 🙏
Whatthefont also has a chrome extension

Yes Google Images still exists: images.google.ca/
There is also Google Lens: lens.google/
Hope that helps!
Balloon bold for Babe's in Arms...closest match.

Totally agree, massaging the robot algorithm with the different sizes of images (different zooming in) will often produce (very) different results!
Good money designing fonts
You can do this right inside of Photoshop too
Man I really need to get a recent version of Photoshop, it sounds awesome!!
I remember finding my first font. haha
I think some of us could be on the TV show "Hoarders" if they ever do a fonts edition! I love fonts!
what the font is better to find font
I have heard that from a few people - I am going to check it out, thanks for the lead!
Are there any tools for fonts other than English?
What the font is better than font squirrel for sure…although occasionally it will find a font what the font didn’t
I appreciate that, I'm going to have to check it out!

It was more just a walkthrough on how to use the tool. Sorry it didn't work for you, thanks for the feedback.
Jack, would you be willing to share the names of the other font identifiers? Thanks so much!
Yeah jack…don’t talk about it be about it

Meh... Font Squirrel is weak. What the Font is the strongest identifier but includes paid fonts
