One of my best friends introduced me to Succession. I'd probably not have watched the show by myself. We bonded better over it and it felt like we were back in college again, laughing over Roman, Greg, Tom and Logan over a walk every Sunday evening. He passed away from a brain aneurysm just before the show's final episode was released. He had been waiting to watch and discuss all about the show for the last 2 years. I hate how he'll never watch it. Hate I didn't watch the show fast enough to catch up with him. Hate that my good friend's life has ended with the show. As the days pass, I hate that I remember him lesser. But when it comes to Succession's music, this track especially makes me remember him as the smiling, cheerful and ambitious 28-year-old man my friend Barath was. Thanks for this track and wish you a good day.
I started listening to it on headphones, I said to myself ok, I'll listen to it for a minute max two off, then not knowing when about 7 minutes have passed, I say to myself damn it, but I keep listening to it. 20 minutes pass and I ask myself am I normal? It's been so long, but I'm still listening. 40 minutes pass and I keep listening, I forget about everything and I get into this epic song, later it went down hill and I listened to the whole track with my eyes closed feeling into this beautiful symphony and epicness.

True. Also it really hits when you think about your experience of life in general, decisions you made and actions you took and where they have got you. It kind of also hits when you realise that you can’t be soft and vulnerable if you want to succeed in this world. I guess that is one of the main ideas of the show. It’s sad if you face it for the first time, but after all it is the reality and so you simply learn not to take it personal and, most importantly, you learn to act on things that you can control, let go of things that are out of your control and differentiate one from another. I really liked the show because I could relate to the main characters and their stories
I’d disagree with stolen. Clearly heavily influenced tho in many places. Britell’s magic is that he knew this sound was appropriate for the show, and he brought old and new together into a spectacular score that feels so right for the story

this was a series and actors doing the acting playing roles but its hard to imagine that this actually goes on in real life among the wealthy people behind the smiles and closed doors, but the soundtrack complements the all of this succession business as if it is an essential piece of the puzzle of fortune and the gamble of trust between the royals.
Way more fucked up shit goes down irl for sure. If anything i thought this portrayed a pretty realistic picture. Especially logan, kendall, rome, those types of people definently exist
There's something about this moment, his pose or stance, the silence as he takes in everyone around him, the realization of his impending fate, the acceptance tinged with betrayal and disappointment, the mix of emotion. it's just powerful but his face and body language exactly like a corporate suit!! robotic !!. Has anyone else felt this??? or is it just me thinking this in my head!!! The life of the filthy rich is not for me, I realized this after watching this show. I cannot be like this guy.
Succession is an excellent serial about money, wealth, hunger for power, envy, back stabing and ... But its theme is so romantic & beautifull and beyond this material world.
Actually, for me this theme is more like the opposite - it returns you back to earth and reminds you that you live in the real world, that is complicated and sometimes brute, but that’s the only world we have and you should accept it. Then it becomes easier and you realise that you should try to do your best anyway

Nicholas Britell is a great arranger but he actually stole the theme from Beethoven. So I think you want to hug both.
