My name is Edward Deyon, and I was the lone tenor in the drumline in Miami in 1983. The Corps was on the verge of folding. We as a Corps decided to compete anyway. I am 53 years old now and everytime I see the reunion corps of 2007, I get goosebumps. I have never seen the 1972 finals run until now. WOW, precision. I have not connected with anyone from that family,, since 1983, but I am proud now to say, I gave it my best under the circumstances. Thank you DCI and The Anaheim Kingsmen, for the learning experience of a lifetime.
Ed wish I could find the 1985 Corps!? ❤️🙏🙏😎
@@mpd1967Oh, what a nice thought. mpd1967. I had graduated from high school in 1985 and did not continue my Marching percussion, education. I have returned to college to attain my music degree, so all is well. I also follow DCI as much as possible. Do you mpd1967 have any contact with anyone who marched with the Kingsmen in 1983.
@@edwarddeyon7189 no, my Mom is Family friends with Roc The Anaheim Kingsman codirector. Oliverio. On Facebook. I was going to march with the Kingsman in 1985 but didn’t make him out to California in 1988. 1989 and was going march with the Anaheim velvet nights and Ann Home Kingsman. Great times and great memories hope you reconnect
@@mpd1967 Thanks
I was at the first dci as a spectator at 13 years old . Yes the kings men lit it up that night
That’s my dad, Jim Good out there doing his drum major thing! ❤️
That’s great. I love to see it.
This, SCV, and Madison were our starting points when our HS band jumped into corps style marching in 1976. It was lightyears beyond what our band had done before. And we felt like we were late to the party in ‘76 when in actuality we were among the first in our area.
Poetically, we can point to one school administrator who saw the future and hired a new band director to make the change. It only takes one person.
That brassline hit me like a tidal wave. Holy smokes. I was not ready for that power.👏🎶💪🥁🎺✊Incredible sound!
Incredible sound indeed, esp. considering that they only had 39 playing horns that year! I marched with Kingsmen in 73-74 and heard all the '72 stories from the veterans in the hornline. Very glad you enjoyed this; it IS legendary... :>)) -- GP
Amazing- so much work goes into a show
Hardiman & Float having fun in the snare line!
The Timpanies sound so nice and "pitched" Whit the "old" snare sound, it gives a special sound color we don't find anymore.
WOW! Clean and Crisp . . . Amazing Auxiliary and Rifles !
I marched with the Kingsmen 70 - 71 & 72! Thanks for the video! Keith McDuff
Saw the alumni corps at Pasadena in 07. OG and rad
Olds Bugles !
You can actually hear the tympani!!!!
Wow, and we just use malletSTATION for timpani the last few years! :0
This is pretty amazing, but wow am I glad to be marching now rather than then, it is dated to say the least
I know Rocky Point Holiday and American Salute by Gould is in here. It is driving me nuts that I cannot remember some of the other great titles in this show. What are they?
Holst 1st Suite/Vaughan-Williams Folk Song Suite; American Salute; George of the Jungle/Mickey Mouse March; Ritual Fire Dance; Sing, Sing, Sing; Exodus/King of Kings Themes.
brass chops. that’s all
Should have been blue stars 😤👌👌
