Norm kills on Letterman and Letterman returns the thanks with a proper late night baptism. Awesome stuff. I love that Letterman "got" Norm. I would watch Letterman every night as a 12 year old for Larry "Bud" Melman and ran into Norm as a kid, amazed at what this strange comic was doing. Norm fan from day one when so many were baffled and often dismissive of him. At. 12. Years. Old.
Miss Norm. Rickles. Williams. Norm. These are the guys who could just go on the talk shows and just get one word, and talk and make you laugh for 20 minutes
Never liked Rickles. Williams was a fantastic dramatic actor but his comedy could be out there and grating. MRS DOUBTFIRE was the perfect combination. Norm was always hilarious... even his bad acting
@@mem1701movies ; i understand what you're saying... my point was...these guys..give them one topic, they could go on on and on for 20 mins just making people laugh. making them very good talk show guests. some people didnt like the humor of Rickles, some people couldnt understand MacDonald and where he was going some of the time...but they could take just one word...and run with it.
Norm. Patrice. Hicks. Rickles. Chapelle. The legacies of these men will only grow as the decades pass, in contrast to the endless list of A-list comedians whose names will fade away as the benefit of hindsight exposes their mediocrity. This isn't to imply that all mainstream comedians are talentless. Sure, current SNL is unwatchable. But then there's Amy Schumer. Ms. Schumer, in my opinion the greatest comedian/comedienne in the world today, male or female, miraculously achieved mainstream success while also displaying a rare combination of sharp yet nuanced comedic brilliance that few, if any comics will ever outdo. For that, she should be forever applauded.
I hate to be a spoilsport but even back in 1993 they did say "how many to eat" on a package of fish sticks. Which is to say they would say "serving size: 5 sticks/ servings per container: 20" or something like that. If you want to eat more or fewer that's up to you, they're not your boss. Letterman repeating Norm's punchline while sitting beside him is about as high of praise as you can get
Norman is the sweetest and funniest comedian I've ever seen. And I do own a dog house!

What a classy fella
The start of an amazing career. I would watch this and then watch his final appearance next but I don’t know if I can handle it right now.
The king of 1 word punchline
I think that Norm guy might be back on the Letterman show.
Nice fella
I can’t tell where his Ed McMahon impression ends and his Larry King begins.
Paul Newman says you never get over it
Who knew the face of the Man Grate got his start on Letterman?

A young chunk of coal that turned into a diamond 💎
Miss you Norm 🖤
Was this before serving sizes?
NOOOOOORM!
Anybody else Google Meadowlark Lemon?
I'm so old I already know who that was.
Kids these days, sheesh.
y'know?
This video is 5:04 long. It could have been 4:04 if he didn't say "you know" after or in the middle of every single sentence. Y'know.
Y'know I'm something of an observationist myself there
Ironic norm was on star search! As a contestant!
