I just love your videos. Couldn't wait until Sunday so watching your older videos...Can you do a video of your whole trip?. I really dont mind if they are 2-4 hours long 😁😆
LOL - if the videos were that long I'd only be able to do one a month! SWF Beach Life, The Movie 😅Thanks so much for coming along with me on my beach adventures!
Bless you for sharing your beguiling shelling videos with those of us in lockdown in the Great White North! I've dreamed of returning to Florida for a vacation for several years now, but something else always "came up" to prevent it. If we survive this crisis, though, hubby and I are planning that vacay! Already set up a fund. Meanwhile, your videos are the next best thing. THANK YOU!
Bonnie we will get through this! The beaches down here are CLOSED and I'm enjoying reliving my explorations as much as you are enjoying watching them! I have made a quite a few videos, so make sure you check out them all. You can probably "visit" for hours! I'm glad you're planning on coming down here. It's absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for the feedback and stay safe!
We were going to Sanibel in May, but that's been cancelled with all that's going on, so it's definitely good that I can still see Sanibel through your videos so thank you!
Hi Lisa - I am so sorry to hear your trip was cancelled. It's horrible what is going on. The beaches are closed right now but I hope you can reschedule your trip once this madness has ended! Stay safe!
Hi...me again...new viewer...i just subscribed. *question:* do you think people "evict" the hermit crabs and other critters when they find a nice large shell they covet? are there actual laws that protect shelled creature? i like that you respect the "owners" of the inhabited shells. you are an excellent role model! *one more question:* do you ever find sea horses? *:-)*
I would like to think that people do not take shells with either the snail in there or a hermit crab. It is illegal to take live shells from the beach down here and I believe hermit crabs fall into that category since they need their shell home to survive. So yes there are laws in place! And yes, we did once find a seahorse! It’s one of my very early videos but we did encounter one on the beach and we got him back in the water. Ask as many questions as you like - I’ll try to answer as many as I can!
We live in Port Charlotte, huge fan of Boca Grande. We haven’t come across too many exotic shells, but there is typically an abundance of them. I’m hoping that we find some unusual ones when the beaches are open, seeing as no one has been on them for so long
I think all of us coastal peeps are thinking the same thing! What I find so interesting is I can go to the same beach over and over and continue to find different critters and shells. I remember last summer where Fort Myers Beach was COVERED with sand dollars. Hope we're allowed back on the beach by then! I'd like to start checking out different area beaches too- soon as they're open again.
I'm going to have to start including more of those. I usually go for the shells I like to collect but there are PLENTY of other ones out there! Thanks for the comment!
Hello Floridian! How is the shelling up at Treasure Island? Since moving here I've mostly been exploring the beaches close to me but hope to start traveling a little further in the near future. You know, once we're allowed back on the beach! Thank you for subscribing!
@@SWFBeachLife It's not bad but like in your video it's mostly bivalves. Some of the nice gastropods can take time to find. Yeah I'm hoping I can head back too once all this is over.
The live ones are actually venomous. They eat worms and fish and has a harpoon-like tooth that will shoot out and inject venom into their prey. Glad the one we found was not alive!
Beautiful shells
Love the coquina!
They're so cute!
Thanks for all the awesomeness😁🤙
Thank you for watching!

Patty Valinote Thank you for the feedback Patty! I hope I can get back out there soon!

I'm happy you like my channel! You are very welcome!
I love how your videos are so interesting and teach me more about shells. Wishing NJ had more beautiful shells!
I find everything at the beach interesting and glad I can share!!

Thank you for telling us the names of the more common shells! I love learning all the names even if they aren’t the most desirable.
I'm going to have to start including more of those. I usually go for the shells I like to collect but there are PLENTY of other ones out there! Thanks for the comment!
I love Cones ! Thanks for this beautiful video..... Would you like to show me something more about Cone shells?
Hi just added you. Fellow Floridian. I mostly shell Treasure Island when I'm able to get out there. Been to Sanibel once. Want to go back

Scary Fear I hope it’s sooner rather than later! I’m really missing my beaches!
@@SWFBeachLife Yes totally agree.
Cones are neat. I understand they drill those holes into bi-valves to eat 'em.

Alphabet Cones are getting Scarace. A GEM 2” Alphabet Cone can sell for up to $80 dollars.
Erona Calloway Go figure. Do you know where shells buys and sellers do most of their buying and selling? I’m curious.
