Baldwin, thank you for this very detailled explanation. This Mig will become my 2nd EDF Jet after the Avanti S V2 - and your personal preferences confirm to me, that a 16 channel receiver is a must. Thx from Germany, Egbert 😊
Thanks buddy. Very helpful. I need some advice though. I did all 4 mixes and the vectoring works perfect when on. When I turn it off though, some of the vectoring still works. The 4 mixes are all the same as yours but I can’t turn off all of the vectoring. I’m at a loss honestly. When off, one nozzle will move with the elevator and the other nozzle moves with the aileron. Any help would be appreciated. In any case, thanks again for the video. It got me through most of the setup.
I am very thankful that you made this video because i plan on getting that RED STAR version of the freewing Mig29 in 3 more weeks! I also have a IX12 and about 3 AR8360ts receivers in which one of them will go into the airplane. MotionRC is out of stock on the RED STAR so i would be very thankfull if you could let me know whos got them in stock! Good Luck on your maiden flight.
Lee, Thanks for the comment. I am sure motion will get some in stock again soon. You might be able to find it on the Freewing site directly though. Good luck with your set up just remember to always check your control surfaces.
Hi i also have the IX12 transmitter and a spektrum 8channel receiver with as3x and safe! Can you tell me how to assign a off on switch to the elevator and aileron thrust vectoring fuction? Thank You
great idea, I would say that all goes to personal preference at that point. I will look into it and see if that's something I would want after the maiden. I finally got new batteries in and just waiting on a non wet day to fly.
Hello, question for you. What did you do with the 2 single yellow plugs that were attached to the throttle plugs and then split off? Im currently wiring it up and not sure where those go.
I am not sure, it is not stated in the feature list of MotionRC - but could it be (and at my Avanti S V2 it is the thrust-reverse) that this is the long wanted Thrust-Reserve? Can you have a look at the ESC manual --> there it must be described ... thx Egbert.
Just got mine and looking for set up as they didn’t have any . Now that it’s been few months since your video, just checking if there anything to add? What about maiden trim of the TV ? Or is it close from factory for a maiden Thx 😎
One very important thing is to make sure the travel in your elevators are working properly. We had a sketchy maiden and had to bring it in after one pass. I would not consider it a full maiden and the video was not uploaded because it was just really short. Biggest issue we had was the elevators being different on each side when we can back in, it looks like it could have slipped a little but we got it down safely and to fly another day. Hoping to get some flying in this week.
@@baldwinhousehobbies8821 Yup having that same issue getting the elevator to match up to the nozzle Right side works fine the left won’t move as much . How did you correct it ? I checked travel , aux, can’t get that one servo to match .. Much thanks to your reply back 😎 Also I take that little mark on the nozzle is the center start position or neutral position? I was trying to measure of my other mig without tV to find the center thrust line .
Hey thanks for the question. Being an 8 channel receiver you should be able to program it on there the same way I did on my ix12. You just may not be able to use the switch like I do. As for safe I think that uses a channel so you may have to configure it to another switch like your gear switch and just use safe when gear is down for landing
It's a fun jet, I needed to add my TV kit to mine.
Let me know how it goes, I never had the grey camo one. Not sure how hard it is to install the TV kit.

Thank you so much for watching welcome to the channel. Glad this was of help to you.
Wow. That was great. You answered some of my questions. Thank you. Best wishes for your... maiden.
I want to purchase a Mig 29 as well.
Thanks buddy. Very helpful.

Great video buddy! Don’t you think it need gyro?
No I I tried the maiden working on a new video for it. I was under powered because my batteries were older so waiting in some new ones to come in
I have a question about the Thrust Vectoring nozzle positions. Do you have a a way to contact you via website or email? Thanks.
Looks realy cool

Why not having areilon mixed with tail for banking left and right?

Hey buddy, another question: which battery size do you use and where do you place them? Do you use the middle or the front battery try?
Thanks
Hey there I use 5000s 100c in the back and front compartments. You just need to make sure your CG is correct for flying.
@@baldwinhousehobbies8821 and what CG do you use? Thanks!

I appologize for the late reply I will have to look at where they are. I recently moved and am trying to get the shop set back up in the garage.

@@egbertmetzler2210 yes this does have the V2 ESCs and can be programmed for reverse thrust
Hi again! How can I make the rudder TV to be controlled by a switch instead of always on?
You will need a 9 channel receiver and split them from the rudder channel
@@baldwinhousehobbies8821 oh ok got it! Do you use any elevator mix with the flaps? You probably have some flights with this by now

Is there a way to run this on an nx8 with a spektrum safe receiver?

Hello, can you send me the programming file?
I will see if I can pull it off the transmitter.
