Thank you for doing!! It's been a year since surfybear announce this thing, and they don't even have a demo on their own social media platforms. So thank you for doing what surfybear should have done a long time ago. Great demos
Hey! There's more sound samples in the main review: ua-cam.com/video/8cGZe_eQcks/v-deo.html. (I also feature it on clean guitar in my intro jam.) Unfortunately, I don't have a Blackface Fender to compare it with. That said, for me, the point of this unit is more for studio use. It offers much more versatility than your standard amp reverb-so it's not exactly a fair comparison. If you're only looking to use it with electric guitar, maybe check out their SurfyBear Metal or Compact series. Hope that helps ; )
It would sound awesome! But if you want a slightly more compact setup, check out their SurfyBear Compact: www.surfyindustries.com/surfybearcompact Cheers ; )
@@lukezecchin : But it would sound different and feel different sandwiched between the power amp and preamp instead of in front of the preamp like an old tank correct? I love this thing!
If I was running this with an amp, using it in the FX loop would be my preferred way to set it up. Just because it gives you the most clarity and headroom from the unit. Some might prefer running into the preamp to colour/saturate the verb a little more. But my general recommendation would be to use the FX loop. Cheers!@@theirritatedirishman5440
@@lukezecchin : Okay so I’ll sandwich it between my Soldano SP77 preamp and the power amp which in effect is making a loop. Should still work fine. Those preamps weren’t made with loops but used a ton in the 80’s and 90’s so,effects had to be routed like I plan to do,I would imagine. Thank a ton brother

Great video! Have you tried their compact? I know it doesn’t go 100% wet but wondering if it can get close enough
No, sorry. I'd love to check it out though-looks awesome!
Kinda wish you could just hear clean guitar and how it would compare to a blackface fender reverb type amp
How would this sound in an effects loop?
