What is the cable on the bar connected to on top of the suspension on the right side? Just built my essential 29 and tested it and i didn't discovered what it does.
I think you mean the remote lockout of the suspension fork. Normally, the switch allows you to block the forks and make them almost rigid, whil riding on smoother surface.

@@mamasmeilor you're welcome! With your hight you're actually in the higher end of the S size and an M size would normally be alright for you too, depending a bit of the brand and model however. The general rule is that if you're somewhere in between two sizes, the smaller one will feel more agile and sporty and the larger will provide a bit more comfort on longer rides. Each brand also has a size chart for their models, normally. I'd suggest you check it too, when you have chosen a model you'd like to buy.
