We were using my math assistant for Saxon. It has the teaching and answer check, but it also has a customized practice that works on their problem areas. I thought this was great.
My son is going into 6th and refuses to try any other math but Saxon!! He loves it and we are on year 3 of using it. Nicole is awesome! I only pay for video lessons and grading and it’s worked out great…so save your extra $20 🥰
We love Oak Meadiw and used it for a number of years. Now we are full Waldorf. In Oak Meadow they are not supposed to do ALL assignments. They are supposed to pick from the assignments listed each week.
I love all these options! That local homeschool store looks heavenly! I will have a 5th grader this coming year so looking a little ahead is fun. Your videos are so relaxing and calming hahaha! I haven't heard of some of these curriculums so im going to check them out for myself because I love to "broaden my horizon" so to speak! Thank you!
Welcome! It's a blessing to have one nearby for sure. It's only about a 40 minute drive for me, but I meet people who drive there from over 2 hours away! They call ahead for inventory and prices. The things we do for homeschool! 😊
my oldest has been trying to make his own board game and wants to learn coding so we will be doing those for some of his electives this year. we are not a sports family but im so happy when other homeschool families can still do sports because i know sometimes its hard to find teams. thanks for showing the oakmeadow its looks really interesting.
We love board games, that sounds fun. My oldest is working on creating a game on Roblox and has had fun learning more about coding through that process and working with a team to create different aspects of the game. Yeah, sports can be challenging and expensive, but we have found a few options with local leagues and skill clinics through our city. I have really enjoyed Oak Meadow these last few years! Thanks for watching and sharing.
We are on the same brain wave for our son’s 6th grade school year…we are focusing on a lot of what you are. We are continuing on with write shop Jr and trying Beuwolf grammar, and adding on some of the Critical thinking Co books to help werd he’s struggling in LA. We are also doing Ancient civilization, but with Curiosity Chronicles , our science is from Guest hollow but focused on health/human anatomy. We are also doing Guest hollows geography course so I can try to start painting a big picture of global society as a whole
I see that! I really like the critical thinking company and have used their resources in some capacity every year. I've never heard of Guest Gallows before I'll have to check it out. Is the geography course you are using through them more focused on ancient geography or present day?
I just found your channel and have watched at least 15 of your videos. I school very similar to you and I have really found so many things through watching you! My daughter is only going into 3rd, but I'm super interested in oak in meadow for later years. I think you mentioned brave writer also, how do you like O&M compared to brave writer?? I was planning to use B.W. but now I'm torn between the two.
