Ugh! The cute, fruity version of a classic. What is it about the New York broadway scene that turns nearly everything into a gay romp? This not an homage to Donald O’conner’s version, it is a tired, uninspired Broadway version of something great!

The staging of this performance is great, it has a lot of layered action going on while still bringing in moments and props from the original. A live performance is not a medium close-up of a film star. Different art form, different energy. Or would you suggest that a stage actor attempt three unassisted running flips after singing and dancing for four minutes?
