If you buy a scarecrow and become good friends with him, when he's not up and roaming around and is sitting on the tree, you can click on him and do the "Search pockets for seeds" interaction and you can get super rare seeds (death flower, money tree seed, etc.). You can also ask for gardening advice and that will help significantly.
He is so annoying when he does get off though, he kept ignoring all the locks in my house and walked in every day blocking the family computer for like 5 hours and being mean to the toddler and dog bc of the evil trait. EA just can't give us non-infuriating NPCs. Ever.

I think you should move the kitchen to another wall because if the stove catches fire again (cheap stove always does), it'll burn the floristry table through the wall again.
You can make planters on the woodworking table so it might be worth getting his wife on that to save money on the planters. And make a bit of money whilst she gets her skills up.
After going down the Bigwallet family tree, I’ve realized that we’ve only seen one side of the Bigwallet family. The family splits after the Sir and Little generation when we followed Little’s son Fredrick. What happened to Sir’s side of the family after Dine Out? Did his line end with him or are there lost Bigwallets somewhere out there?
He made a new save using Little's son, Fredrick, and Sir did not have any children at the time Semaj made the switch. as far as actual gameplay, since he's no longer playing the old save it's safe to assume that Sir's line ended with him. Or you can do the fun thing and imagine more Bigwallets in another dimension/timeline
Are you on the Gallery? I wonder if Sir is, as well? If so, you could DL him, give him a partner, and some offspring, and reupload, giving James credit of course. James might just see this, or you could tweet at him. He's been known, on the odd day, to use other Simmer's creations in his LP's, so ya never know. 😉
Maybe when you really start going, you could buy a retail lot and turn it into a florist, and have them run it as a family business. Dad could make the flower arrangements, Mum could be running the store, teens could be either restocking or cleaning the place, children could either be gathering items from the neighbourhood or playing on a set of swings outside, etc. Don't worry about focusing only on one Sim, it would be more interesting to see you use Luna and all their future sprogs, working together on one goal.
I love how Sebastian and Luna are married and having a kid in the span of a week all because they were neighbors even though they barely have any money, while Katrina and Mario met because he was stuck in a swamp pool in Selvadorada while she was on vacation and getting those simoleons and they aren’t even married yet 😂

I just wish they added more old details from the sims 2 to sims 4, when a couple sleeps together they spoon each other, and adding the 5 O’Clock shadow where you can barely see it to clearly and then adding the actual layer of the main facial hair, just the small things make the game just so great

I think you're correct, but i'm not sure at which gardening level you get it. I have two sims that were already at level 10 gardening skill before I got the Seasons EP. Both of them automatically use the weeding machine when they do the weeding interaction. You might get it sooner than level 10 though. Hopefully someone else here knows the exact gardening level our sims need to get it.
Me too. The storylines from other Simmers get really boring to me. I like the challenge of Rags to Riches and getting tips on building here and there... In his Max Power episodes, he sunk a rocket ship into the ground. Looked so awesome, I copied it in my own game. Took me a while to figure out on Console though. Have foundations on my house and it was driving me crazy!

Hope you keep this build rustic, that reflects their hippy attitude on life. Maybe even a recycled kinda look would be cool? Luna should 'bee' into yoga, that would be fun to see. Something that I find fun is when you build, you have to leave it.(no changing or easy dragging to make bigger, and plumbing does not change.) Or if you want added extensions, you have to change the exterior wall paper. It makes building way more realistic and a fun challenge for layouts. love this series so far! Thanks

When you get to a high enough level, you get a "Weed All" option and that's when the sims pull the weed vaccuum out of their bags of holding. It's not an actual In-Game item. At least as far as I've seen.
Loving the series! You don't have to purchase a gnome for the holiday, they will automatically pop up for you. Make sure you have some honey in your inventory or some flowers to give them. If you give them bad presents they get really mad and you don't want to see what happens! Follow them around like flies on shit while they are on your lot because they will drop seasonal seed packages for you so you'll get the higher level plants! After the holiday they will turn into statues that you can sell.
Never watch this before bed... You will dream that you’re in Australia with James and the holidays are in different seasons and he’s making you celebrate weird made up holidays
In my game, harvest fest just happened and I put the decorations up for it. They set little gnomes around your property and if you appease the gnomes (give them things they wanted - totally free to my surprise), they set little seed packets out until harvest fest is over. I got a lot of plants out of this!
I can't wait for them to fix the bugs in this EP lol I can't sell stacks anymore. I don't get spliced fruit/flowers from grafting anymore. My bees need mite treatment every few hours. Wild plants are duplicating like crazy.. which isnt a problem :P but dragonfruit!!!! nuuuuuu why are you broken grafting?! Anyway.. loving your series so far Semaj! I'm doing a rags to riches too :) the seasons really do make it challenging
Watching these old videos kill me because 1. You could’ve used a roof and some pillars to make a cover for the plants and 2. The amount of flowers are based on the quality of the plant. Wish I had found this at the time you made this though lol
A big tip for when you age the baby to a toddler, give it the independent trait, they will do alot of things on their own and that means you dont need to worry as much. I use that trait alot when I have twin toddlers. Also, make sure you have a potty, toddler bed and a highchair
the harvest all interaction harvests all plants near your sim. They will appear in your Sims inventory. Sell all holly for example sells all available harvestable holly from the plants. A tip to know the difference, look at the amount of money your sim will get for the sell interactions. The more your selling the higher the amount of money the SIM will get. Also before u do a sell all interaction, harvest what u want to keep first.
There's a HUGE baggy knit sweater that came with Pets that you could have put her in, James. Also, the weeding machine appears when you level enough to get the "weed all" interaction.
Please don't kill Luna! Its nice to see you play with a family and makes the build more interesting when you try and match it to the family! Also, I know people in the comments have already told you where to find a puffy jacket but the tye-dye poncho that was next to the other jacket would of suited her hippie style!
They don't die if you left them inside, they just don't grow. But as long as they're inside they behave like they aren't affected by weather like before

Also, I think your bees are asleep because your greenhouse doesn't count as one room where you removed the floor for the plants. When you were in build mode, it was 2 rooms. *I just discovered bees sleep during the winter inside too* I think there's a glitch with the plants - mine won't grow past 4 or sometimes 6 either, and they're all in season or in the greenhouse!
I know you probably heard this a thousand times now, but Holly can survive in the winter, and you can (and probably should) move them outside. Just hoping it'll help with maximizing space in your little shelter/greenhouse :)

I've done sone testing with gardening. Each plant has a maximum number of harvestables which genereate at 5 am. If you are not on your lot at 5 am you will loose a day of harvestables. The number depends on the plant rarity and location. Inside plants genereate less harvestables than outside. Daisy: outside = 7, inside =5. Dragon Fruit: outside = 3, inside = 2.
I think the panel wallpaper looks nicer than the seasons one. But it's still nice tho. James remember to add the laundry when you have the money! I bet it'll be challenging cuz we have seasons now!!!!! Can't wait for their clothes to be stinky hahahahaha
Gameplay is great! I'm loving the house and family aspect of rags to riches, switching it up a bit. I think I've watched all you rage to riches.... and Katrina is definitely an important character in each one ;)
You should grow every type of flower, try and get them all to excellent quality, and you could maybe do some sort of planting festival? And ANZAC day, you mentioned it and I think it would be awesome, you could schedule it to start at dawn and make them reminisce and bake ANZAC biscuits (I think theirs a baking option) and give flowers (just pretend they're poppies)
Challenge idea: have your followers create a Sim(s) and design houses under a hashtag of your choosing. Randomly select one of each then come up with a story line for the combination you get. You could fill the world with these interesting characters, as you're doing with Mad Scientist. Not sure how that would pan out or what sort of video trail it would lead to but it'd be unique and interesting I'm sure. The weirder the better?
I really like the idea of you including laundry! I was going to suggest it but then you mentioned it! :) especially since you didn’t really spend much time with it besides the pack review and it’ll give her something else to do if you don’t want her helping out with the gardening too much
Be sure to appease the holiday gnomes when they come around! I appeased three of them at once and they gifted me with TONS on seed packets. Took a couple for my garden and sold the rest. They sell for $100 a piece! Gotta provide for the wifey and kiddo. 🤔🙃🐐

Rule for having a family as part of the challenge: The child has to be in the baby life state until it ages up naturally (3 days), the toddler life state for at least a week, and the child life state for at least 2 weeks, as if you were playing the game on normal lifespan. They have to stay a teenager until you are ready to age them into a young adult for the next LP, so they have to go to school every day that isn't a holiday (and they can't get a part time job, obviously). Oh, and because we're living off the land and can't leave the island, they don't have any access to reliable contraceptives. So every time the couple wants to woohoo, it has to be "try for a baby"! Welcome to Semaj's personal Hell...

You can plant trash plant by leaving trash on the floor and wait a few days for it to turn to a plant they are eadable and stink the gardining area and as booring as mushroom but i had to tell you i sell them or use them other ways and maybe you would want to move the stove into a less flamable place away from flamable objects

I've done sone testing with gardening. Each plant has a maximum number of harvestables which genereate at 5 am. If you are not on your lot at 5 am you will loose a day of harvestables. The number depends on the plant rarity and location. Inside plants genereate less harvestables than outside. Daisy: outside = 7, inside =5. Dragon Fruit: outside = 3, inside = 2.
I think the panel wallpaper looks nicer than the seasons one. But it's still nice tho. James remember to add the laundry when you have the money! I bet it'll be challenging cuz we have seasons now!!!!! Can't wait for their clothes to be stinky hahahahaha
Gameplay is great! I'm loving the house and family aspect of rags to riches, switching it up a bit. I think I've watched all you rage to riches.... and Katrina is definitely an important character in each one ;)
If you pause the game before queuing up fertilising, you can use one mushroom to fertalise 6-7 plants!
While the bees are sleeping they don't produce any honey so just sell what is already there and wait for them to wake up again.
You should grow every type of flower, try and get them all to excellent quality, and you could maybe do some sort of planting festival?
And ANZAC day, you mentioned it and I think it would be awesome, you could schedule it to start at dawn and make them reminisce and bake ANZAC biscuits (I think theirs a baking option) and give flowers (just pretend they're poppies)

Challenge idea: have your followers create a Sim(s) and design houses under a hashtag of your choosing. Randomly select one of each then come up with a story line for the combination you get. You could fill the world with these interesting characters, as you're doing with Mad Scientist. Not sure how that would pan out or what sort of video trail it would lead to but it'd be unique and interesting I'm sure. The weirder the better?

Be sure to appease the holiday gnomes when they come around! I appeased three of them at once and they gifted me with TONS on seed packets. Took a couple for my garden and sold the rest. They sell for $100 a piece! Gotta provide for the wifey and kiddo. 🤔🙃🐐

Rule for having a family as part of the challenge: The child has to be in the baby life state until it ages up naturally (3 days), the toddler life state for at least a week, and the child life state for at least 2 weeks, as if you were playing the game on normal lifespan. They have to stay a teenager until you are ready to age them into a young adult for the next LP, so they have to go to school every day that isn't a holiday (and they can't get a part time job, obviously). Oh, and because we're living off the land and can't leave the island, they don't have any access to reliable contraceptives. So every time the couple wants to woohoo, it has to be "try for a baby"! You can plant trash plant by leaving trash on the floor and wait a few days for it to turn to a plant they are eadable and stink the gardining area and as booring as mushroom but i had to tell you i sell them or use them other ways and maybe you would want to move the stove into a less flamable place away from flamable objects
they're also really great fertilizer! almost as good as poop
Grafting works first you have to take a cutting from a plant than click on another plant and select graft and chose which one
