I'm not so sure what you mean by Guardians doing a lot of damage with the polearm, I always figured they did basically little DPS in comparison to most of the other classes just like Priests of Mitra.
@@schwann145 Well that's a given, but Guardian already is one of the least strongest in terms of damage even then, getting beat by Conq since they are the 2nd highest dmg soldier class, and apparently polearm tanking isn't really a thing anymore.
@@The-Black-Death Eh, my guard and my conq, who are similarly geared, do close to the same damage. The conq does better aoe because of banner, but that goes without saying. And they'll def do more damage than a DT until the DT unlocks their lvl 80 gold AA feat (I forget the name).
@@schwann145 Yeahhhhh Idk about doing Guard doing more dmg than a DT tbh, that seems very very wrong even without VoM which you meant. But in cases like this it honestly depends on the player too, because naturally the Conq is designed to have more utility and dmg over the Guard, but you seem to be more adapted to Guard over Conq I'd guess.
@@The-Black-Death VoM! Ty, that was bugging me, lol. But no, really, DT is the damage loser until VoM, big time (and then it's the exact opposite once you have it). A lot of polearm damage comes from feats, and a lot comes from positioning and reach, but they really do an impressive amount when played right. But ultimately it's only for leveling anyway, so it's not exactly important.
Thank you for the video, it was really informative. I am looking into getting into AoC (I know it's kinda past its prime) and I was wondering if healers are really needed in this game or you can do without like som other mmos. I enjoy filling up bars and from your analysis, I think I am leaning towards PoM. Are they any good for soloing? Would that pick make sense seeing how I am getting that late into the game or am I better off with something like a Ranger (my other wow char is a Hunter)?
@@BigMike-de7fu Hey man, thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Compared to Tempest (which is the other healer by what I've read), how does POM perform? I'd rather pick the most needed class of the two, rather than something that is better for solo and then not really wanted in endgame.
Basically every class has a role in the game and can succeed which is honestly one of the best things about this game. While PoM might not be good or fun for soloing and damaging roles necessarily, they are the best at healing and have some decent support tools handy.
@@SpyZ86 All three Priest classes are fully capable healers. PoMs and Bear Shamans tend to be preferred over Tempests of Set for healing group content, but it's a mild preference and you can really just play whichever you prefer.

Thank you. It's been an age since I played and wanted to watch an overview.
Thanks man, i am looking forward to dive into AoC again
Nice overview, keep the videos coming. You got a new sub.
great info, thanks!
Best game

You do less damage than dedicated damage-dealers like Mages and Rogues, but Polearm builds do a ton of damage compared to sword/shield.

Yeah POM is needed , my main is a pom and yeah you can solo during leveling beside you have dungeons and elites quests where you will need a group

You can customize them to be bigger, the selections are randomly generated
