Thank You for having Camille on, it was great to see hear, hear her and LEARN from her. She doesn't know this but I named my daughter after her. We are distantly related and I spent some time with her as a child. I have remembered from the time I was a child her overnight stay with us and more importantly her tenderness and kindness! I promised myself I would name a child after her one day, and I did. Thank you [Cami] and thank you Hank and John for this podcast. I have learned so... much by listening.
I’m so happy to see Camille Fronk Olson!!! I just loved her input in all the panel discussions in which she appeared, along with various other educators like Andrew Skinner, Richard Draper, Robert Millet, the late Joseph F. McConkie, and others! The videos are still online. Sister Olson hasn’t changed a bit-still lovely and so knowledgeable. I want to thank Hank and John for always giving us these inspirational and edifying podcasts every week. I really do appreciate it.❤️
I made a wonderful discovery today. I found that I can pull up the show notes and follow along to the video or podcast. I had the script on my laptop, video on my phone, scriptures on my iPad and my journal open. So much good stuff! My parents live in Beaver Dam, Utah and know the Fronks. I have heard so much about Dr. Olson, I usually partake of both parts every week but this one was really special. I too had questions about the deceit of Jacob and Rebecca in obtaining the blessings and birthright. It is clear we don't have all the info and must walk by faith. Thank you! Thank you for making these wonderful lessons available.
Loved this podcast! Such a beautiful reminder of the power of righteousness women, also sister Olsen your lyrics need to be published, and sung! Thank you!
I just noticed the JST for genesis 24:2 changes “put your hand under my thigh” to “put your hand under my hand.” I loved this so much! Thanks Dr. Camille Olsen!
I love the lyrics!! It has brought tears to my eyes, why haven't we added them to the original song!? This needs to happen! How unifying! I was so excited about it, I made up my own for Ruth! Needs some work but it would fit in! In the land of moab, famine takes its toll! Ruth has a choice either stay or to go, Bethlehem was so far away, her mother inlaw so Old, Ruth was steadfast, her vows she did uphold, saying, I will go, and do, the things the lord commands, I know the lord provides away, he wants me to obey.
I love the song Dr. Camille Olsen! Another beautiful podcast, so much knowledge shared to help us understand the lesson this week, thank you Hank & John.
Those song lyrics are fire! Could we all get permission to use them? I teach primary music and would love to add those as additional verses. There is so much doubt and rebellion in the world; it is so important to have examples of faithful obedience!
Sister Olson, great and energetic discussion. I've watched for years on BYU Ancient studies, you look so spiritually beautiful and happy. Good for you!
John, I love your books as your back ground. It feels cozy and inviting. Hank I love your new picture behind you also. You both have made a big impact in n my learning of the scriptures. I'm so grateful for you both and all your guests. Thank you thank you thank you!
Another wonderful lesson ❤️ You guys Hank and John pull off these podcasts so well and bring in great scholars that open my eyes and mind and heart to just how great our God and Saviour are every day I will go and do what the Lord commands ❤️ that poem
Thanks sister Olson- I'm sitting here bawling my eyes out with your inspired song lyrics- my 19 year old daughter marlee just walked in saw me crying looked at the TV and said oh OK you're doing scripture study you're not dying 🤣 ps- she is going to receive her endowments in just a couple months! In our temple- Nauvoo 😉 Thank you sister Olson and thank you guys for doing this! I love to learn and I love to laugh too- so it's perfect! 🙂
SONG LYRICS: The Lord commanded Rebekah To marry Sarah's son. Trusting in a servant Who far away had come. Knowing she'd never again Her home a spy, Rebekah was courageous. This was her reply; CHORUS: I will go. I will do. The things the Lord commands. I know the Lord prepares a way. He wants me to obey. I will go. I will do. The things the Lord commands. I know the Lord prepares a way. He wants me to obey. An angel commanded Mary To mother God's own son. Mary had a question- How could this be done? Trembling and fearful, She did not ask him why. Mary was courageous, This was her reply; CHORUS The Lord commanded Lehi To leave Jerusalem. Sariah was obedient And gladly followed him. She began to murmur When she feared her sons were dead. Then she was courageous And voiced her faith instead. CHORUS The Lord commanded women To teach His Word at home. He gave to us His promise We'll never be alone. At times we are discouraged And ask 'Why should I try?' Then we turn, courageous And this is our reply. CHORUS
I really enjoyed this . Especially your song . Very touching lessen. I did want to let you know JST says he did not touch his thigh . He put his hand under his hand . Like a hand shake or a covenant . I like your take on Ishmael also that they used the well by where Hagar was at when she was kicked out . After Sarah dies Abraham gets married a third and has six sons . His fourth son has priesthood given to Jethro Moses father in law . . I always wondered where Moses found people with the gospel . I always wondered what happened to Abrahams six sons if they were covenant sons. Since the rest were in Egypt ? I heard from I think High Nibley in a lessen that. Abraham actually took back Hagar and had she got a different name and she had six more sons with him . So they kept in contact . And Ishmael helped burry his father too. So could see how the gospel was taught . What do you think? I can’t find number 11 love this .
Any way you could include the lyrics that Dr Olson changed in the song "Nephi's Courage" which highlight the obedient females who "Go and do" with the same courage? Ty.
I did come and obey. I moved to USA to marry in the covenant. I left family and friends. They're not members of the true church. I am still trying to be a good example for some day they will come to the covenant. Or I wait and send their names in the Temple. My moto: now or later!
In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, we read about their marriage ceremony and the meaning of the thigh of one's hand. In translation, there, it is a hand clasp. Why not also in the old testament? It makes more sense than anybody having a cavity in there leg, into which one would be so inclined to invite others to shove their fists.

I love this! Thank you, Dr. Olson, for sharing your song! I have three young girls, and this is something I will share with them. ❤️

Such powerful teachings on the role of these faithful women! Thank you!
Thank you too for the beautiful insights
I love the song Dr. Camille Olsen! Another beautiful podcast, so much knowledge shared to help us understand the lesson this week, thank you Hank & John.
As wonderful as this was, I prefer when the guests focus more on the block than on a topic, ie. Strong women in the O.T.
Thank you for teaching us!

I agree! I doubt we can get permission anytime soon, but I would love it if we taught this alongside of nephi’s verses.
YES! The really must put this in the new hymnal (Primary version)!
I was wondering this as well!
Permission granted! Camille is delighted you would use them :)

I am in tears.

SONG LYRICS:
The Lord commanded Rebekah
To marry Sarah's son.
Trusting in a servant
Who far away had come.
Knowing she'd never again
Her home a spy,
Rebekah was courageous.
This was her reply;
CHORUS: I will go. I will do.
The things the Lord commands.
I know the Lord prepares a way.
He wants me to obey.
I will go. I will do.
The things the Lord commands.
I know the Lord prepares a way.
He wants me to obey.
An angel commanded Mary
To mother God's own son.
Mary had a question-
How could this be done?
Trembling and fearful,
She did not ask him why.
Mary was courageous,
This was her reply;
CHORUS
The Lord commanded Lehi
To leave Jerusalem.
Sariah was obedient
And gladly followed him.
She began to murmur
When she feared her sons were dead.
Then she was courageous
And voiced her faith instead.
CHORUS
The Lord commanded women
To teach His Word at home.
He gave to us His promise
We'll never be alone.
At times we are discouraged
And ask 'Why should I try?'
Then we turn, courageous
And this is our reply.
CHORUS
I hope they add Sister Olson's new verses to the Primary song book!
Wonderful! I Will Go 💕
I once had a college class taught by Dr. Olson and would love to email her.

Would love the lyrics Sister Olson sang to be in the new children's hymn book
Your program makes me more insightful gospel doctrine teacher. Wonderful learning!
I would love to get her lyrics of her song she did for her Young Women, I would love to share this with my YW
You can find the lyrics in our show notes on our website: followhim.co/episodes
I would like to get the song lyrics and put them in my journal and possibly give to my daughter to sing. Is there a copy somewhere?
followhim.co/old-testament/ It's in the show notes :)
They are found mid way through 41:17 in the show notes.
Mmm, can that song be added to our church repertoire?
Any way you could include the lyrics that Dr Olson changed in the song "Nephi's Courage" which highlight the obedient females who "Go and do" with the same courage? Ty.
Hello Vicki! The lyrics are in the show notes on our website: followhim.co/episodes
Dr. Olson spoke about the JST scriptures indicate Melchizedek and his city were taken up to meet Zion. Where can that be found?
Ya the Joseph smith translation says hand on hand basically :)
Can we find the words to the songs Camille F Olson wrote?
I’m lost. At 16 minutes in the discussion, it mentioned exaltation being all together and not individual. I don’t understand.
I believe it's talking about being sealed in families.
I owned a house when I met my wife. We have been married for 41 years.
How do I get show notes?
I did come and obey. I moved to USA to marry in the covenant. I left family and friends. They're not members of the true church. I am still trying to be a good example for some day they will come to the covenant. Or I wait and send their names in the Temple.

JST hand under hand.
Genesis 24:50 says Bethuel was there with his son, Laban. So Bethuel was not dead.
Agreed. I found it odd that she mentioned several times that Bethuel was not around when he is mentioned as speaking.
