    DESCRIPTION
Welcome to HowFixit! In this video, I'll take you through a step-by-step guide on how to disassemble Dell G15 5510 laptop, clean its fans, and replace the thermal paste. Our comprehensive tutorial will equip you with the knowledge of fixing laptop overheating issues. From disassembling your laptop to cleaning the fan and heatsink from dust and applying thermal paste, we've got you covered. Say goodbye to overheating and hello to improved performance!
    Laptop Disassembly Guide:
Disassembling your laptop may seem daunting, but I'll break it down into easy-to-follow steps. You'll learn how to remove the laptop's casing, locate and clean the heatsink and fans, and access to CPU for thermal paste replacement. By following this guide, you'll gain a deeper understanding of your laptop's internals and how to keep it running smoothly.
    Fan Cleaning Techniques:
Dust and debris can accumulate in your laptop's fans and heatsink over time, leading to reduced airflow and increased temperatures. I'll show you effective methods to clean your laptop using an antistatic brush and proper handling techniques. By keeping your cooling system clean, you'll prevent overheating and extend the lifespan of your laptop.
    Thermal Paste Replacement:
Thermal paste plays a crucial role in transferring heat from the laptop's CPU and GPU to the heatsink. However, over time, a thermal paste can dry out and lose its effectiveness. I'll guide you through the process of removing the old thermal paste and applying a fresh, high-quality one. This step is vital for optimal heat dissipation and temperature management. Don't let an overheating laptop slow you down! Watch this comprehensive guide and take control of your laptop's temperature. By performing regular fan cleaning and thermal paste replacement, you'll ensure smooth operation, prevent hardware damage, and extend the life of your laptop. Hit the play button now and let's get started!

This laptop is really affordable, but having to remove the motherboard, just to clean the fans or replace the thermal paste is giving me second thoughts. Dell definitely engineered this hoping the users will never clean the fans and thus will have to buy a new one when theirs inevitably starts overheating

My G15 5510 is 2 years old, it keeps working as the first day except for overheating. I can open it, but it takes a lot of time

One of the nice features that Dell G15 model have is a self pop-up cover when you unscrew it. This will help the cover side prying much easier and less damaging.

Of course those bastards at dell put the heatsink on top... Well this is going to come with a lot more potential for damage and failure now.

If you don't mind, I've got a question. I own a Dell G15 5520 laptop with 512GB storage, 16GB RAM, RTX 3060, and a 12th gen Core i7. I'm thinking about upgrading the RAM to 64GB. Is that possible, and if so, will it perform well?
    I'm eyeing Crucial RAM options:

    Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 4800MT/s CL40 Laptop Memory CT2K32G48C40S5
    Crucial RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5 5600MT/s Laptop Memory CT2K32G56C46S5
Which one do you think would be a better fit?
    Appreciate your response in advance.

Check your manufacturer support page for the allowed memory configurations. I do not think you can go above 32Gb in total. 2x 16Gb DDR5
Secondly also check what maximum bus speed your memory can support!
