- This was our first flight over water, landing on an island. The runway is surrounded by water on three sides. Fun aerial tour of the Island. Final approach over the water was quite a thrill.
Im from Dauphin Island! Thanks for flying in! If you ever get the chance to come back, come land here at night! With the runway extending out into the water and the runway lights on, it feels like youre landing on an aircraft carrier

I agree! I used to land at Dauphin island back in early 2000’s. Loved that runway. And it is a trip at night!

You are so blessed to have a wife that shares your excitement for travel in that plane. I am looking forward to stretching out across the country when I get my plane. Wife, not so much! Lol
Don't give up on your wife. My wife was terrified when I started this journey. I was very careful to make her first flight perfectly smooth in the early morning hours. I set her up with an iPad with ADS-B so she could follow the sectional and see other airplanes on the screen. We just took small steps and now she really enjoys it. She has flown over 100 hours now with me! Good Luck!
My wife used to fly with me everywhere until we had kids and things changed. 😢 It definitely aids in airplane utility and use when spouses want to go too.

I've never landed Copalis Beach 🙂 but this final approach and landing was really fun. Flying out to the island was also a pretty cool experience.
