Would love to see bands like Baptists, Deafheaven, Power Trip, Mammoth Grinder, Conjurer, Gatecreeper, Rivers of Nihil, Zeal & Ardor and all the others who are pushing the boundaries of heavy music and blending genres. Sometimes aggressive music doesn't translate very well to a studio setting, but with Audiotree I find it really helps you appreciate the insane musicianship of these bands who are normally sought after for their energy and don't get the respect for their actual instrumentation and songwriting. Being able to see them playing up close, full tilt, with amazing audio engineering and no distractions of stage divers and whatnot allows you to fully appreciate a band's individual members and the mastery of their instruments.

Most, if not all bands that are signed to the Deathwish Label are amazing. Bands like Cult Leader, Gouge Away, Oathbreaker, Converge, and Deafheaven are fucking killing it right now.
Love this approach to music. One of those unique band that captures the true heavy in emotion and music and combines it thus sounding like a poetic bear crying while ripping you apart.

If we're including all the modern metalcore bands that have subverted the genre to sound like Djent then no. I'd still say CL are more Hardcore leaning than anything else, and if not then I would say they lean more on the Grindcore/Sludge side of things.

They kind of remind me of Rosetta, who are incredible live as well. EDIT: Nevermind, had only listened to The Broken Right Hand of God while saying that. Rosetta has a similar vibe to that sometimes.

Burn In Hell has a really similar sound to these guys especially on Disavowal Of The Creator God. Gouged is also kinda similar to these guys, shame they only had the 1 ep tho
Austin Goodrich for cymbals it looks like meinl soundcaster fusion 14” hats, 20” and maybe either 18 or another 20” a custom crashes, the ride looks to be either a Paiste dark energy or 900 series heavy ride, i can’t tell. for drums it’s DW, sounds like the Collectors series, most likely one of the shell packs so it’s probably 18x22” kick, 8x12” and 16x16” toms. i can’t get a good look at the snare body to tell what it is
ok the snare is definitely aluminum but a lot of companies use that same design so i can’t tell the brand. but it looks like a 6.5x14” aluminum snare of some sort
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drummer with this amount of output and i’ve got 40 years of drumming under my belt. That’s fucking incredible, you guys!
I had never heard of these guys a few years ago until I saw them live opening for, I think it was, Dillinger escape plan. I'll never forget thinking "Wow that drummer must hate his kit"
