We were in Madeira the last week of September thru the first week of October. It never rained and was basically summer weather the whole time we were there. Was not what I expected. But it was awesome wouldn’t have minded if it wasn’t so hot but can’t complain.

Ouvi que houve incêndios, não vi nada de especial na TV, também não vejo tv, mas se fosse grande já estava em todos os lados. Deve ser um grande terror haver incêndios numa geografia dessas... Felicidades! 😉

Just found out about this beautiful place. Want to plan a long trip in January and really thinking about Madeira as a destination now. But a bit afraid it will be only rainy and windy, even in the South. Or does it depend?
Anything can happen really, January is one of our “worse months” and that particular day we filmed it was one of the worst days of the year, a bit ironic. But if you keep moving, or you’re with a tour guide who knows what he or she is doing, you’ll have a great time regardless :))

Is the weather likely to be bad at that elevation, or better certain times of the day? I have heard it can be very crowded, but does that hold true in mid December? Hi Jeff. Love your videos on Madeira! I am planning to visit Madeira this year September end. However, there might be delays and I might come in October (2nd or 3rd week). I know September end is ideal time, but is mid October any bad in terms of weather?
Safety is our number one concern John, it may have looked as if we were close to the lane but if you knew the area, you would know it wasn’t that close. Cheers bud
