I also have a special place in my heart for Scott Cunningham books. It’s been a long time since I read them but I remember them being so kind and welcoming. Not judgmental or condescending at all. I feel like it might still hold up for beginners. I’d definitely be interested in a review!!!
Thanks for this video. I too started with that Cunningham book, before really knowing where to start. Love the Mat Auryn book! Wanted to let you know, if you didn’t already, that he did a follow up to that book last year that is great as well.
I'm a Leo sun too! Some things I resonate but some I didn't and it made me feel like I'm not Leo enough. Finally I looked into astrology more seriously and discovered that we have an entire birth chart and it made sense why I wasn't Leo sun enough because I'm a Libra rising. The mental side of zodiac signs makes sense, I saw that somewhere on an article one time.
This is how it is for my husband! He's a Scorpio sun and isn't anything like Scorpios. He isn't mysterious, jealous, vengeful, etc. 😅 He's an open, energetic, golden retriever man who shares me with another man. 😂 His moon and rising are in Aries.
@KagomexPrincess Very similar with my fiancé. He is a Scorpio but doesn’t seem like a Scorpio at all from the outside because is rising sign is Libra. But if you get to know him you see at least that he is indeed very emotional and kind of jealous. But not vengeful or mysterious or interested in the dark…
Scott Cunningham Wicca for the solitary practitioner was my first book too! Even though I'm not Wiccan I still want to go read it again to see how much my practice has evolved I'm a Leo Sun on Cancer cusp & Cancer Moon too so I also never felt like a typical Leo 😅
I've been feeling drawn to witchcraft realizing that a lot of things I used to do as a little kid was apart of that too! I agree on the grouding and protection, I enjoyed the book!

Just found ya today on my feed. Great Videos great practice and looking forward to watching a binge session to familiarize myself. Really glad I've been given the opportunity to get a little more educated. Peace, Love, & Light Always
Oh, when you mention a book being "very old" following that is must be from the '90s...that hurt. LMAO! The 90's feels like it was 10 years away for me all the time. Thank you for reminding me that I'm old. lol By the way, I'm just teasing you. :)
I would love videos with your thoughts now!!! Scott Cunningham was one of my first books after I began having serious study. My FIRST book was purchased on the Isle of Mann, where my family and I traveled when I was 12 or 13, 1996 I believe. But I kind of forgot about it for awhile. My first book a few years later at age 16 was actually Teen Witch by silver Ravenwolf. I purchased it again recently and I still kind of love it even though it’s so obviously written for teens. (I’m now 42 years old.)
Hey! Thanks a lot for this and your work! I would be on the list of the ones who would love the more detailed book reviews 😊 A question, do you have suggestions to dig more in mediterranean witchery roots? Books, authors, collectives,...? Thanks a lot!
Omg, Sun in Leo and Cancer Rising here!!😄✌️ I also identify more as a Cancer :) People I meet can never believe I'm a Leo😮 Definitely putting books from this video on my list!👍 Two of the books that had a big impact on me and shaped my practice include: The Crooked Path, by Kelden, introducing me to traditional and folkmagic (before this I only knew about Wicca :)) Another one is Nature Spirits and Elemental Beings, by Marko Pogačnik, opening my eyes to a whole unseen world of nature. Now I will never look at a plant the same way after having read that book🙂 Thank you Bente for sharing and spreading the knowledge!💙 always so great to learn new things❤
I’m an Aries I was meant to be a Taurus but I came early lol. I resonate with my moon sign of libra and my rising of Capricorn. Scott Cunningham was one of my first witchy authors along with Starhawk
As a green folk -witch living in Norway, I would love to hear your book recommendations on Scandinavian folklore of plants and plant magic? Thank you for sharing 💚🌿
Not sure if you saw but Scott Cubnibgham’s sister wrote a book about him recently. I haven’t read it yet but the ep of Southern Bramble on it was lovely.
Question: for the books that you don't most recommend for their category/topic -- e.g. The Shamanic Witch, etc. -- what books on those topics would you recommend now in their place?
@katrinawest3484 Yeah I was very confused because the book failed to give me a proper definition on what traditional witchcraft is, and it felt like 80% recycled Wicca but bashing Wicca at the same time because of some past squabble of the founders…. Like what?
@@TheNorseWitch yes like I felt like I had read most of it before but was not sure. I did a paper in high school in my college class on Wicca as a religion and so I was reading a lot of Wicca books, and it felt like it was all the same.
The definition part was so weird for me… at one point he stressed that a tradition can be anything, so you can make your own tradition and be practicing traditional witchcraft, but then the entire book tells you how to practice traditional witchcraft. That doesn’t make sense at all 😅
Hilarious! I never resonated with my Leo sun either, until I got deeper into astrology realizing it’s a part of me but I feel more like my Pisces moon and the other water and earth signs in my chart. I think having a lack of fire everywhere else is really why I don’t feel the Leo strongly.
I think if I had ppl to practice with I would learn easier lol I hated psychic witch cuz I can’t visualize. Ended up regifting it. Cunninghams wicca book was one of the first ones I’ve read cuz it kept getting recommended it but it’s how I learned I’m not wiccan lol
I'm a pices moon and Capricorn sun but literally NOTHING about capricorn resonates with me except that I am hard headed and stubborn. It's one of the main reasons i can't get into astrology.

That top looks good on you, it just suits your vibe. 💚
Thank you! It’s also Viking age inspired so I really loved that 🥰
Heck yes for book reviews!! ❤ they are helpful and interesting to watch

I don’t really read anything in that direction anymore so there’s nothing I could recommend :/
completely off topic: Do you have recommendations for tattoo artists based in (north) germany? :)
Yes! @anastasiarice in Hamburg (she’s my main tattoo artist), @magda_hanke in Hamburg and @jentonic in Lüneburg ☺️ (it’s their IG handles)
Thank you so much! Will definitely be checking them out! @@TheNorseWitch
