Greatest interview Doug Gilbert did, Eddie Gilbert was one of my favorite wrestlers in Memphis wrestling, Rip Eddie Gilbert you'll never be forgotten! my greatest condolences to Doug Gilbert about Eddie Gilbert and his father Tommy Gilbert
Yes, this promo was so incredible, I cried. Legit one of the best promos I’ve ever seen. A perfect blending of real life and promoting a professional wrestling match. Bravo Doug Gilbert.
You is right doug you telling the true about your bother eddie because my twin brother pass way few months ago and am still sitting here crying about him my life will never be the same again i miss my bother not only that he also my best friend that i will ever have
Doug was every bit as good as Eddie. They should have been like the Manning brothers in the NFL, who had a father who was basically wrestling’s equivalent to an Archie Manning. He was a wrestler for a long time who missed some breaks, but who anybody from his time would tell you was great. So he passed on his greatness to his boys and it made them even better. Unfortunately the also caught some bad breaks, included a few self inflicted ones.
You look at World Class and the VE's image was always very protected, very wholesome, no matter what was really going on. But Memphis just laid it all out there, warts and all. It's hard to judge whether that was right or wrong, or was too real. But it was so compelling. You couldn't help be get emotionally invested.
Doug's a cool dude. As a fan, he definitely touched me to know he decided to follow me on Twitter, after I followed him. Awesome wrestler & loving brother! RIP Eddie Gilbert!
He was the top heel at our local NWA promotion NWA Battlezone (and later NWA New South). I saw him win the NWA Southern Mississippi Title live in my hometown. He’s one of the best natural heels I ever saw. He could draw heat like a penny in the desert. He drew heat like a leather seat in mid July. But watching this promo it shows what a great babyface he could be too. One of the most underrated wrestlers I ever saw. It’s sad more people don’t know about Dangerous Doug Gilbert.
Is this a Dusty rip off?? I'm only 1minute in.. Everytime I see the words HARD TIMES my 🧠 instantly goes to images, matches and promos by Dusty Rhodes...
What a great interview
