I've made this. The trick is to gently heat up the rosewater as you melt the wax. Then, when the wax is melted, you very slowly add the water a couple of drops at a time, beating as hard as you can. That is what emulsifies the wax and the water. They would have used a whisk, most likely made out of thin twigs.
Thanks for the tip! Did you use the double boiler method to heat up the rose water too? Also did the water get mixed in well or did you have some excess water? Last thing did you use a electric mixer? Thanks!😊
It seems that with those ingredients, it would last longer than a week. Maybe even a couple of months. Did yours go bad fast, how long did it last? And was it a good product?
Come on girl, make your own skincare! I love how simple it is to prepare a moisturizer back in the day... of course, it doesn't last long because there are no preservatives but it's also why it feels more natural and without mysterious ingredients you might not even know. If any of you tries to recreate this at home don't forget to patch test it first to be sure you're not allergic or over sensitive to any of the ingredients; people with very sensitive skin sometimes can't use pure oils like the almond and jojoba ones due to reactions.
So I'm wondering if the cold cream that is made with the natural ingredients was only done by women who lived in areas where they didn't have a lot of money to spend and rural areas where they couldn't get out to a store and buy it or order it? Cuz it seems like people who lived in the city and were Rich would be able to go to a mercantile store and to buy it of course I wonder if it would have the same natural ingredients? I just love this channel I really do.
Amazing tutorial! I was wondering, is there a substitute for the almond oil? I have a household member who is highly allergic to nuts, and I wouldn’t want them to have a reaction. Thank you!
Muy interesante tus videos. Se agradece muho si ponen en comentarios la receta, asi de ese modo es más facil de comprender para lo que no sabemos inglés.
Add about 1 heaping tablespoon or about 2 regular tablespoons. It will keep for a week as this does not have preservatives. Turn on captions for instructions in the video.
I absolutely love this Channel... But I’m always worried Justine is going to burn herself whenever she cooking. I’m sorry but way she’s always lifting heavy pots with the poker. Probably because, I’m accident prone myself and l always expect the worst.
Women had great skin in the old days without acne or hair (due to organic food and bring breastfed) until it was their turn to get married and give their beauty away!!

You have very graceful and lovely looking hands, especially considering all the types of work you do...thank you for the video! ❤️
My grand mother always used water rose and lavender oil, she looks younger than people from the same age
This channel is great. The videos are so addicting and soothing to watch.
Love your channel it's fun and educating. The arguments between the husband and wife are hilarious. Same arguments every married couple gets into.
I love this channel. I find it not only educational but relaxing. Does this cream work better than modern cold cream?
That would most likely depend on skin type. Not everybody can use cold cream. Mine tends to break.
It would also depend on the manufacture/company.
I've been using it as a skin cleanser, and it feels soothing to my sensitive 67-year-old complexion. Thanks Justine, I'm going to make this for gifts.
I can't wait to try this.
Very nice video! I LOVE the music!! Can’t wait to binge watch your other videos! 🙏🏼💖
Spermaceti was huge in my New England old whaling coastal town…Justine your skin is flawless like alabaster

Fancy! I want to try this next time I buy jojoba! Will you please do more skincare remedies?

Looks like this was before she moved out and she was probably making it for Lucy's use. I saw her using it for bedtime routine.

Say someone is allergic to almonds, what is a good oil to substitute? Thanks in advance if you have any advice on it. ^_^
jojoba, argan or sunflower oil :)
The reciept calls for white wax, but I'm wondering if you could use beeswax instead? I have it on hand and would like to use it.

In the recipe they say "a drachm." white wax. How much is this? How long does the cold cream keep?
