- The memories of Talion that can only be heard in loading screens. It cannot be heard in-game, nor can it be activated. The memories are randomized.
Man, Troy Baker is amazing. He nails these grizzled, weary characters so well. Joel and Talion, some of my favorite voice acted characters ever.
Wow! I didn't knew he was talion too! Amazing
He voices Van Kleiss and Pain too. That guy is one of the few God-tier voice actors.
And Booker Dewitt
An actual really good American v.a. Respect
Talion is such an underrated character. Watches his family die in front of him. His friend betrays him, he eventually gives up his life to the ring islidur and be corrupted slowly by Sauron while he defends middle earth and give it enough time for the fellowship to form. He is the unsung hero of Middle Earth.
He's the reason things went well.
I agree with that heavily. He's wise, grizzled, tough, and fearless. He is the ultimate warrior and the *true* hero of middle earth; even if he loses to the ring at the end.
Honestly he is the only being in all of Arda who might be a bigger bad-ass than Samwise Gamgee
If he was canon, he is the true saviour of Middle Earth. Long live Talion the Bright Lord.
I love the unsung hero of Middle-Earth aspect of him. It's like saying that Talion didn't even want any recognition, despite the fact that Hirgon and Outcasts, Ratbag and Ranger, People of Nurnen with their Queen and Survivors if Minas Ithil all remember him
I fucking chocked up and teared up. THAT is quality voice acting. On a mother fucking loading screen.
+wrypatrick101 right?! when his voice breaks a bit at the mention of wife, son and kin. that's real emotion right there
as oceans settle in port of call, your journey on to white shores glide, and there you settle in with pride, and to the rangers who honoured Gondor, may your sprits find peace ashore, and too wife and son and kin, may those days bring bliss within.
Good stuff my good sir. Very accurate lyrics~! Thank you!
Thanks!
"May those bays bring bliss within" Is what it sounds like
boringproduction1 yeah his voice cracks really bad then, not sure of the lyric
KnowDisName think your right actually
Talion sounds like he’s about to break down
Of course he does. He lost his family, and he can never rest eternally. Hes been cursed with immortality, never to be with his wife and son
@@IanMantisToboggan *A r e y o u s u r e a b o u t t h a t*
@@Beeennnnniii well of course. Unless you have no friends or loved ones
@@IanMantisTobogganI was talking about "He's been cursed with Immortality"
@@Beeennnnniii well yea he cant die
This adds so much to the beauty and tragedy of Talion. Especially with the ending of Shadow of War. Many people disliked it but I honestly love how both SoM and SoW go in it’s entirety.
Last defences were long and weary . Which was exactly the thing that happened for Talion. Greatly done as it did really feel we've been fighting for long .
That voice acting. Being able to nearly break your voice, nice.
He was singing the hymn when the ambush came. It was the last mistake his enemies ever made.
O.O
They learned that a Ranger in song is a Ranger ready for war.
As rivers flow and waters fall,
as oceans settle on board of call
your journey onto white shores glide,
and there you'll settle in with pride,
and to the Rangers who honored Gondor,
may your spirits find peace ashore,
and to wife and son and kin may those banks bring bliss with you.
May their sacrifice be a beacon to us all.
This is the correct lyrics.
Alexander Ruminski It’s port of call, board of call makes no sense whatsoever!
The last part sounds more like a sentence than anything else.
The first 3 lines for the wraith, the next 2 for his fellow rangers, and the last 2 for his family. A hymn for the fallen; at least, as far as I can tell. The white shores refer to Valinor.
Kshitij Mall you know I've been listening to this for years since it came out it's one of my favorite things until I read that I never realized how it's broken up good job and that's not sarcasm really good job
All those years ago....good times when I first got this game. I even played shadow of war 2 years ago, and still do for both games today. Proud to have been apart of many who enjoyed Talion's journey in middle earth.
I hope elatriel dies in the next middle earth game and celembrimbor is the villain
My god I can hear the tears streaming down Talion’s face as his voice breaks while praying. At peace, hero of Middle Earth’s shadows
Such a tragic character RIP king Talion, I know he’s reunited with his family in the afterlife
When this loading screan came up and Talion started to sing the game offered me to skip it and go into the game againg. Fuck you game, I'm not skipping this!!!
Troy Baker is extremely talented. Amazing voice acting as usual. You really get the nostalgic and emotional feelings from his voices.
Voice acting is really amazing in this game! I just got platinum trophy and gonna start the campaign again!
This was heartbreaking
I've played this game maybe 3 or 4 times over, and have 85 hours in game, yet somehow I've never heard this in game until recently. I was stunned, I really felt Talion's suffering.
i had this a number of times and played this game to death before the second game, had it 2 or 3 times a playthrough, still hits hard every time, its quality voice acting.
Thank you for upping this! I think Troy Baker is some kind of genius everything he touches turns into gold..... anyway this poem along with the music really made me sink into the game and it's lore along with the rest of the soundtrack and superb voice acting. Got a bit sad when i finished it.... guess it means it was good. XD
Guess he's got the Midas touch.
Can’t believe shadow of Mordor was 6 years ago…
Troy Baker did a fantastic job. I can feel pain while listening, there is a pressure in my chest.
I threw my headset on and slammed continue but I wasn't ready to hear this.
Also, I reloaded this game last week for the last time since Febuary, and this was on my loading screen.
Really sad...
Many think immortality to be a blessing, but it is a curse. To see the ones you love die before you as you live on is the worse curse there is.
"Immortality isn't living forever, that's not what it feels like, Immortality is everyone else dies." - The Doctor
As ocean settle in port of call, your journey on to white shores glide, and there you settle in with pride, and to the rangers who honoured Gondor, may your spirits find peace ashore. And too wife and son and kin, may those banks bring bliss within. May their sacrifice be a beacon to us all.
(not sure about settle IN and who HONOURED)
Thank you, you just did god's work!
Holy hell, five seconds in and I was tearing up.
It's just a loading screen, why the hell is the voice acting so good? And the music it's just.. mhm. God this is such a good game. Why wasn't war more like this with the details?
War was good enough tho
because videogames are a business, not a hobby anymore. Those that succeed eventually lose passion.
I need to hear someone cover this song or extend it. It sounds so good and you can hear the emotion behind it
Powerful. Long forgotten emotions.
Nostalgic
The algorithm hits hard
Troy Baker should have been the voice for Corvo Attano in Dishonored 2. I feel this accent and tone is much more fitting of his character.
he sound like he is going to break down
Of course he does. He faced betrayal and lost many times and yet he still stood firm.
And people like Tear of Grace call this man bland and boring.
as oceans settle in port of call, your journey on to white shores glide, and there you settle in with pride, and to the rangers who honoured Gondor, may your sprits find peace ashore, and too wife and son and kin, may those days bring bliss within.
May there sacrifice be a beacon to us all.
never had this in my game
In my game only Sauron is speaking trough my controller...
Imagine this in the shadow wars ending
Can anyone write down the lyrics for this? I could only understand a few words (I think):
There oceans set only ...
They journey on to watch ... glide
And there you settle men with pride
And to the rangers who honor Gondor
May your spears find peace and...
And to wife and son and kin
Leave those.... with him
May their sacrifice be a beacon to us all
I believe he says spirits not spears.
That was sad
is this reason why bright lord stabs talion in the back
Tragedy perfected..
His voice sounds like Nick Cave's.
Thanks for sharing, top notch game.... maybe the very best game based on Middle Earth....what do you think?
Is he crying?
(I know it’s the same voice actor) But Joel?
Troy baker is a god
Does anyone know the title of this song so I may get it without Talion's voice (nothing against it, it's moving), but also I wanted to make use of the soundtrack.
Shadow Of Mordor was (in my opinion) a lot better than Shadow Of War. Because, Shadow Of Mordor had such a personal vibe to it. Shadow Of War is a drag. You spend the first act of the game without the ring that you forged, which is a bore. And, it wasn’t even about avenging Ioreth and Dirhael. It was about the Palantiir and the Ring and taking fortresses. Shadow Of Mordor, on the other hand, is all about avenging your family. The last 2 boss fights may not have been much, but at least they were fights with difficulty. Shadow Of Mordor was so much more simple. That’s why I prefered it. And that’s also why I think it got GOTY and Shadow Of War didn’t.
its like first game is more talion based/focused while the second focuses more on celebrimbors ambitions, atleast the first 3 acts, Shadow wars is Completely Talion based but focuses on the aftermath of celebrimbors decisions
any idea about the background music anyone?
Damn this is way better then the nazgul going “oOoOOo gonna kill u”. I’ve only played the second game but I watched the first games story
so sad :( one time I died and It was his wife singing then I died agin and it was him i almost cried
The algorithem has blesed me with this video
What's the name of the music?
Late reply, but the poem is called 'Talion's Goodbye' according to the wiki page.
I keep coning back to this...
It's beautiful and so heartbroken...
And I keep coming back.
