Everytime I "attempt" a minimal makeup..I can't do it I am ALWAYS full face makeup! I laugh at myself everytime I think I'm going to be minimal. For me it is all or nothing!!!

I don't do makeup to be seen, but rather to enjoy the creativity and how it makes me FEEL. So, rushed makeup has no point, at least in my life. For me, 3pm is usually when I actually can do it because my little one is napping.
I've found the "less is more" makeup looks better on me than a full face now that I'm 50. You did a full face of L'oreal a long time ago that was so beautiful that I still base my makeup off of that video. Today's video really reminded me of that one. You look really ethereal today, absolutely stunning.

I’m a light makeup gal day-to-day. I really only go in with a major eye look for special occasions; work doesn’t get EyeshadowRachel very often.
As a retired teacher, I think homework gets a bad rap. Practicing skills is never questioned for outside activities like sports or dance --you don't just show up at a game and play or at a recital and dance without practice.
So agree with you. Perfect analogy. I am also a retired teacher.

I’m a teacher and I can say that the optional homework is really just if parents want ways to keep practicing at home. It’s not required but like you said, more practice is always good ☺️

I love the video idea of bustin' out something older and giving it another go. My favorite videos is when you use an eyeshadow palette I already own and I can try it myself afterwards. I love your light look. Such beautiful eyes don’t need eyeshadow. I’ve enjoyed using less makeup this summer, and usually add definition to my eyes by blending a bit of bronzer across the crease, and a touch of soft highlight on the lid.
I love the light look! But I play with eyeshadow looks when I can. I don't know why but blush is my favorite product.

I always run embarrassingly late for work because I spend too much time (half an hour) on my makeup every single day. I love the idea of using a multipurpose palette especially when it's all creams. I can do a full face of makeup with a minimal shadow look in about 12 minutes so I just don’t feel the need to cut anything down or out lol
Of course my favorite is still when I can take my time and blend eyeshadows together seamlessly and be precise with placement. I just love makeup!
The colourpop 11:11 pallette is my favorite. I have a pretty decent sized collection, but I can get a few different cool/neutral looks. The mattes are so bendable and if I want to add shimmer, the sparkle is perfect. I reach for it over my Huda or Natasha Denona pallettes when I need a look that I know will be perfection all day. ❤

I have a quick makeup routine (similar to what you did when I'm in a rush); I have my regular makeup routine for day to day, and I have my glam makeup routine where I use my more expensive items and spend much more time getting ready... That's for girls night or date night. I think all three are essential for me. Especially because I do tend to run late from time to time. ❤
Some days, I am a quick makeup girly out of necessity, ahem, namely on mornings when I sleep past my alarm. Those mornings, it's some foundation, powder, swipe of blush, one basic eyeshadow, mascara and a quick lippy. But I like the mornings when I have a bit more time and can really put effort into my eyeshadow, use eyeliner without feeling rushed, and do some bronzer and highlight.
This is a beautiful look for you, Em! I’ve been practicing with a more formal look for my grandson’s wedding next weekend but usually I’m a quick/natural makeup gal. Being older with more mature skin - less is definitely more. Love your fall palette collection!

You look great in minimal makeup! Every time I think “I’m going to do a simple makeup look today” I always enjoy the process so much that I get in the zone and before I know it I’ve done a full face again 🙂. If you love doing it and have the time, then do it!
I actually LOVE this look on you! I think you usually go for sorta dark and intense looks and those are glamorous and pretty in their own right, but this sorta just brings out your features more and looks so fresh!
I do light makeup every work day. I use one of 2 foundation-type products, bronzer, brow pencil, a single shadow, curl the lashes, add a lippie. If I use blush it’s romantic rose.
I like the quick look on you. And I do that some mornings.

I LOVE taking my time and doing all the steps. That's my happy place. I am not good at a quick makeup look. I get up at 430am so I have time to do my makeup and hair before I have to be at work at 8am lol I kind of always feel like by mid day when I do a light makeup look that I've lost the coverage I want. I need to play around with doing a quick makeup to find a happy place with it. Great video. We love you!

For a minimal look, I find that after using sunscreen which makes me really glowy, I just use concealer and a powder like Fit Me and it kind of combines into a really good coverage make-up and it is really fast
I quit wearing makeup everyday but I still love it and love watching others apply it and to see what is new. If I do wear it it’s usually tinted sunscreen and my cream dream blush in red and an eyeliner.
I like the look! There are some days where it is all I need. There are those days where you need to be out and about but want to look casual but finished! I am trying it today! Thank you so much!

I try to do minimal Monday to Friday when I'm trying to get to school early enough to be ready for my students. I don't always succeed in keeping it minimal, but I try.

I change my palettes out every month. At the beginning of a new month I get four or five palettes from my collection (depends on my how many Mondays there are) and I use one a week throughout the month. Makes me feel better & like I'm rotating through my stash.
I do this for a quick run to the store, or for a sudden zoom meeting. I loved this. More please. The tour was great too.

I wake up excited for a video from you and makeup. I shopped the Ulta sale yesterday and am excited to try the about face foundation today. I have been buying the Guy Fieri sauce, too. My favorite is the same as yours. I use it on chicken. I spend waaay to much time applying skincare and makeup. I wait a few minutes between skincare steps then too many choices for makeup. I watch videos during this process lol. I'm a new Aesthetician and always excited for the whole process❤ Saying prayers for you and your family today. Maybe Bubb was bent over files too many hours for his deposition.

I love to do a whooooolllee makeup routine and it feels like self-care and a hobby and technique practice. When I have time, that’s what I want to do. But what I am finding is that I need a quick and simple routine for fast mornings before school or errands or events that looks finished and pretty, but that I can do in the car (passenger seat!) or really quickly before I leave the house. It’s not practical for me to skip sleep (I have a baby and sleep is a commodity!)
There’s room for both styles! I’ve been using a Subtl Beauty Stak to get out the door quickly, and I’ve been very happy with that routine.
As an educator, the "optional" homework is an additional supplement to learning. The optional work will not affect their grade, however, will help them explore learning at a deeper level. If the student does or does not complete it, it doesn't affect their grade. It's learning for intrinsic knowledge or practice. It's very difficult to get students to complete homework because there are many parents that will not work with their children, so it cannot be required. Emily, you seem like the type of parent that goes above and beyond with your children and doing the "optional" work is never a bad idea when it comes to preparing your children for higher education. As always, I love your videos!

I'm a minimal girl at heart. Minimal to me is throwing on lip gloss and maybe blush. If I'm going all out, I'll break out a single shadow and mascara. I look better when I add more, but time is always a factor. Two minutes or less, tops.
