You were prophetic on AB on the Olympic trials!
Getting a thumbs up before even listening! Know this is gonna be great. 🙏
Welcome back CENZO!!! Lehigh had a great tournament. Luke & Ryan bright future ahead. Penn State Wrestling School U. 🦴🩸🤼♂️🥇
Lehigh getting any blue chippers coming in ?
Nick Lee lost first round in 2018 and took 5th not 3rd. Still impressive.
They should have mentioned McKee too, lost first round and took 3rd, then next year loses first round again and took 5th I believe
Um Cenzo vs that Iowa stud were amazing matches. Probably the most exciting match up I always tuned in for.
Did I hear multimes about 7th year Seniors this past weekend? Crazy
Ridge just seemed mentally done after losing to Heson. I don't think he ever got his mind back into the tournament after making that decision which costs you a finals appearance.
Great recap. I really enjoyed the program and assessments. The Penn State juggernaut of 23-24 didn’t start this season. Vincenzo Joseph was part of the PSU legacy from yesteryear (not that long ago) that was the primer for the Penn State Wrestling magic we were witness to this season. This was my first viewing of your podcast and happy the YT algorithms redirected your show to my inbox.
great convo! I would love to see Vezenzo wrestled in DC area if permits
Great conversation! A good listen. Thanks
Thanks a lot for the show Justin
Where would the Penn State backups finish at the tournament….
Seeing how their 197 backup jumped up to heavy in a duel and beat an AA from this year I’m guessing pretty good
They would be a top six team!!
@@adamwells1740No they wouldn’t. lol.
125 (kurt mchenry, robbie howard, or gary steen) - would win a couple matches, dnp
133 (kyison garcia, baylor shunk, or howard) - 0 - 2
141 (best case david evans or connor pierce comes down) - evans is a fringe aa, pierce prob wins a couple matches but dnp
149 (evans or pierce) - evans has 3 wins over qualifiers but lost to malyke hines, who went 0 - 2, he'd win a couple matches, but dnp, pierce's best win is 5 - 1 over sam cartella, but later lost 9 - 0 to cartella, he maybe would win 1 on the backside
157 (matt lee or erik gibson down from 165) - maybe win a couple matches, dnp
165 (alex facundo) - 0 -2 at ncaa last year, but has beaten carson kharchla, cam amine, caleb fish, and danny braunagel, fringe aa
174 (terrell barraclough up from 165) - beat jackson turley and lost 2 - 1 to shane griffith, fringe aa
184 (josh barr) - beat jacob nolan 2 - 1, who went 0 - 2 at ncaa, he's good but hasn't reached his full potential yet, he'd win a couple matches, but dnp
197 (aj fricchione) 0 - 2
285 (lucas cochran up from 197) - beat slavikouski, but also got majored by michael beard and lost to jacob cardenas, he'd win a couple matches for sure, but i think wrestling a full tourney at 285 is a little too much, dnp
I can’t believe no one is talking about the Pasiuk/Lewis 174 round 5 match. What if Pasiuks’ win was taken away in the blood round? Reminds me of heil from Campbell and Kent state Ian miller who both had wins stollen from them due to NCAA not properly addressing a situation. I think a rule change or set up change needs to be done by the NCAA so a foot hitting some coach who just happens to be sitting to close can never happen again.
Beyers said Bartlett 100% coming back
Vito beat #1, #2, #3 seed
Wisconsin needs a coaching change
Mesenbrink is going down to 57 and Haines is going 65
I bet they switch weights?
No doubt Penn State is easily the best team this year, and ranks up there with the best Penn State teams ever. But I also find it interesting that the year the TD goes up to 3 pts, they break the scoring record. I'd like to see raw stats from the various dominant teams of the past - 1997 Iowa, early 2000s OK State, 1984-ish Iowa, and see how many takedowns, nearfall etc. were scored in their matches. Likely not possible, especially from the 80s teams, but it would be interesting to normalize the scoring to see what a comparative score would be.
I had this exact same thought. Compare the stats of the 2pt takedown era and the 3pt and see if the new rule encouraged more offensive wrestling.
@@omaribrahim7457 The bigger thing is that they adjusted back points to 2-3-4 a couple years ago, and this year TDs are worth 3, but they didn't adjust the point margins for majors and techs. A pin is still a pin at least.
It was a traveling carnival horrible everything but grappling
Askren said Mitch could have made 157 this year if he had to
Also said he’s a 157 pounder
