How to make Gems from Plastic Bottle Caps - Easy DIY Recycle/ Eco-Friendly Tutorial

  • Want to save the planet a little and turn some trash into treasure?! Then this is a tutorial about how you can turn bottle caps into some cool looking faux/ fake gems or jewels (though realistically you could turn them into anything that you have a mould for - anything from cameos, to stars, to shells - there are plenty of silicone moulds out there you can get rather cheaply that you could use.
    And the best thing, most of what I used in this video I had laying around the house. The only thing I needed to collect were the bottle caps!
    These are honestly so lightweight and perfect to add to armour (armor) or some sort of accented or jewellery piece on your next cosplay.

    Pretty cool I didn't know you can do that with bottle caps. If I want to paint them. Should I prime it first?

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  4 роки тому +3

      I would say yes :) but I know I’ve used spray paint directly on something like this before and it was fine.

    How fun! I imagine this could be used to replicate a miriad of items. Love the sandwich press idea.
    It's been long enough that I cannot remember the toxicity of particular plastics when heated to melting point. It's always a good idea to wear eye protection & work in a well ventilated area. (That was to keep my conscious clean. If you'd ever read the incident reports that I have, you'd understand.)

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  3 роки тому

      Fair enough! Because of this type of plastic, it is non-toxic at these levels.
