- I was fortunate enough to get an early screening of Heretic staring Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher, and Chloe East. This is a Religious Psychological Horror movie about two young missionaries that are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door.
Let me know what you think about this movie and if we can ever look at Hugh Grant the same. Hugh Grant delivers a career redefining performance. I hope he leans into his bad guy arc.

I'm a HUGE horror fan and after this review and watching the trailer this might be right up my alley. I find if very hard to find good horror movies, especially among recent once since they are so predictable and cliche. One thing that makes or breaks a horror movie for me is the ending, so I ask without any spoilers; is the ending coherent? I get so pulled out of the emersion when a movie makes a 180 and does some weird cinematic metaphor.
Great question Nicholas! The ending is good but it does leave it up to the audience to decide. There is story closure, but so many philosophical questions around this movie. I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s my favorite horror movie of 2025 💚

Thanks friend, I just really don’t see anyone approaching this from a sensitive spiritual angle. This movie can really mess with you if you’re not ready for it. But it does bring up some really good questions.
I just saw this movie a second time, and it didn't occur to me that there's no profanity. What has occurred to me is that Mr. Reed is a polygamist.
